Mike checked us in and was friendly and helpful. We asked about somewhere to eat and he gave us a great recommendation close by. He even stopped by our room to see if there was anything else we needed. We mentioned ice and 5 minutes later he was back with a bucket of ice. This inn was the perfect overnight stop. Our room was clean, had Fast WIFI and good selection of tv stations. Quiet location and one level building with car parking right outside our room door all for a very affordable price!
What a wonderfull place!! So glad we found it!! Its clean and neat and well kept. The cutest place by far! Comming here all the way from South Africa was worth it!!! Service was excelent!! We will be back!
We absolutely loved our stay at Route 66 hotel shamrock Texas! The family that runs the hotel are so kind, they made my entire family feel welcomed and at home. The room We stayed in was really bIg which was awesome because we had our kids so it gave them room to play and run around. They also had these bench swings my kids loved especially at night! we will be stay there every time we come to Texas
This is the same property as the OYO Shamrock with the same address so there are two different places to leave reviews. Here's my review, again for April 2020: "I stayed here years ago and came back for a visit in April of 2020. We were initially bewildered by the OYO designation but were reassured that the ownership is the same as it was previously and conversations with them confirmed this. We had a good night's sleep and felt well rested and that we received a fair value. Maybe it isn't the best rate in Shamrock, Texas although I don't pass through often enough to try all the other little motels but many of those look good too."
This is a real Route 66 experience! A small motor inn that was a part of the Route 66 heyday. The room that we had was very spacious and clean (no musty smells) with a super comfortable king bed. Good internet and TV choices + a spacious double headed shower with hot water! Our room also had a small fridge and plenty of room for bags and tables on each side of the bed! (Thank you, by the way!) The man who checked us in was delightful as well. For a price of $33, tax included, that would be great enough. But the place is also like a museum for Route 66 motor inns. Neon and Route 66 art by Nye Thompson abound and delight! There's a covered pavilion with grills, covering what was once a swimming pool. We know this because we saw a painting of the original property at the nearby U-Drop Inn Visitor Center. Once called the Sun and Sand Motor Inn (picture of painting posted), the property is very much the same although updated to afford you with a clean comfortable place. Great melding of history, convenience, and value. We LOVED it and will stay here again!…
