I had an initial bad experience with the front desk clerk. I originally gave this hotel a bad review. However, after finally getting in touch with the manager I saw this hotel in a different light. The manger was genuinely embarrassed and sorry. She went above and beyond to make things right and it was not fake. I could tell she was genuinely disappointed in the way the staff treated me and ruined my stay. One person having a bad day shouldn’t define the whole charter of this business. I am so happy that my issue was taken seriously and addressed. I will stay here again to see their improvements.

Clean comfortable room and friendly staff. They also have a very reasonable pet policy. Had a chance to talk to the manager Angel who is great at her job and very accomodating. Bonus...a bunch of deer live across the street from the parking which was very exciting for me!

I found this hotel to be very comfortable and although the occupancy was extremely high due to a lot of evacuees being there, I felt like the staff, especially Lizzie and Angel, went above and beyond to try to do whatever they could to accommodate under the circumstances. However, When I get on Tripadvisor and the amenities are stated as being a microwave and refrigerator I expect to have that in my room it; shouldn’t be something I have to ask for. But once I asked, I did get my microwave. I was very happy with the quality of the room overall especially the comfortable beds and assortment of pillows. Again, very high occupancy which meant people had to park out in the street. This was a concern of mine because I heard someone complaining about their truck getting broken into the night before and of course if you’re not in surveillance areas then you have no recourse. There needs to be a better system for accounting for the people that are staying at the hotel and the amount of cars that are there or a better parking situation offered altogether for the future . This is a convention center hotel touting that they’re near the convention center see you expect it to have a lot of people there at times. Not being able to park your car correctly, might mean that emergency vehicles may have trouble getting through. I will probably stay here again under better circumstances.

We were taking our daughter to Texas State which this hotel is conveniently close to. I will start our with the positives. The customer service was great- I mean really great- the food at the restaurant was good, parking was not an issue, the hotel was was easily accessed from the highway, and check-in was very seamless. However we had multiple things in our room that did not work- refrigerator and the phone- and the hot tub's heater was not working. This however did not bother me as much as what happened when I wiped up a spill on the floor with a towel and when I looked at it the towel was black on the side I cleaned the carpet with. Based on that and the old stains I saw in several places I have to wonder when the last time the carpets were cleaned in the rooms at the hotel and how much attention is truly being given to the sanitization of the rooms. The hotel also needs a few more luggage carts. If the quality of the rooms can come up to the quality of the down stairs staff, this hotel will be top notch. I gave it four stars because of the customer service I have come to expect from IHG hotels.

We stayed here as a spot for visiting the San Marcos, Guadalupe River, and Canyon Lake area. Based on understood occupancy and prices I could find online, I was disappointed to learn the price they'd offer me to stay an additional night with AARP was more than any one could simply find online. I also understood that there would be 75 un-filled check-outs on the extra day in question which verified the occupancy was low. The staff, especially in the bar/lounge, was very nice, friendly, and helpful. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the pool much because the first night we stayed it was basically commandeered by mostly local "stay-cationers". Fortunately, we weren't there for the pool. Nonetheless, the crowd was loud long into the night. We looked inside once and there were at least 15-20 people inside the tiny pool, and hoards more outside, completely boozing it like college spring breakers. The next morning, it was like a scene from Bachelor Party or The Hangover with beer cans all over the property. I really feel for the staff who had to help clean that up. The room, beds, comfort overall, etc is OK. The entrance, foyer, and waiting area by the bar/lounge is actually very nice. The pet walk area on the far west side is pretty good as well. When filling this out, TA asks if there were pool or beach towels. No. We visited the pool briefly before the crowds arrived and basically when no one was there, and there were only small blue and white striped towels - not pool or beach type towels.
