From the moment I first set foot inside this gorgeous and historical home I was in love ! Our room was richly furnished and so inviting.. the staff are congenial and ever so helpful . Breakfast was plentiful, satisfying, and prepared in house by excellent hands. We will be returning without a doubt. We made it a mission to get... More

Absolutely great experience. The beautiful victorian atmosphere mixed with delicious home cooked food makes this place worth the stay. I highly recommend to anyone who needs to plan a wedding or any other large catering event.

I stayed here for a week over the end of the summer with my husband and we had such a nice stay! The bananas fosters breakfast made by Teri is to die for and Paula, Regina, Cathy and the team made us feel at home and so welcome. They bent over backwards to help us enjoy the area of San... More

Attentive and helpful staff, very clean and pleasant place. They were fully booked and very busy, and still they managed to be helpful and attend to our needs. Breakfast different everyday and homemade.

Overpriced bed and breakfast. AC doesn't even begin to keep up with Texas heat. Old old buildings. Low electrical. No showers only hand held with no shower curtains. Breakfast is fair. Went across street for donuts. Convenient to downtown for walks which is nice.

We are always sorry when someone has a negative experience, and this is no exception. CarlaP, if you are reading this would you call me? Would be glad to try to make it up to you somehow! I'm not sure which room you were in and I'd like to know, but twice on this 100degree weekend, guests in two separate... More

Stayed one night in late June. Location is downtown on a busy street but near Texas State university. Stayed in the Colorado room. It was nice and noise was not a problem. Great balcony to sit outside and relax.although a ceiling fan would be great.

We had the most awesome time! It was much like being home with an excitley eager staff. Paula, Regina, Kathy and our new friends have the best & only B&B in San Marcos. The bed and room was better than expected; we stayed in Frio on the 1st floor and I did not want to get out of bed. The... More

I visited this hotel in 2012. It was not a good experience for comfort but the food was delicious. I noticed the manager responded to my review but it was not true. She has me mixed up with another person because I did not complain while there. I did not leave. The air conditioner was on auto and not fan... More

We are unclear if this guest just returned for a second bad visit to the inn, or maybe was just reemphasizing the first one from 4 years ago? Either way of course we are so sorry for her experience. She may be right about the faulty AC then, because during major renovations a couple of years ago, several central units... More

This B&B is in a fantastic location if you are visiting Texas State University. We stayed here recently for new student and parent orientation. From the Crystal River Inn, it took five minutes or less to get to the LBJ Student Center, which is the hub of new student orientation and many other happenings at Texas State University. There is... Thanks for the sweet words and feedback. The Colorado Room is indeed the one most subject to noise from Zelick's bar next door, so light sleepers should ask about some of our quieter rooms. The decor here isn't modernistic and no the bed covers aren't all white with a skinny little strip of fabric across the bottom---we have real comforters... More
