Girls weekend in Salado! I was so happy with the Rose Mansion B&B that I booked a room a month later for a getaway for my boyfriend during the Christmas Walk. We will definitely be going back! I can't wait to take my granddaughters when they are old enough

This was truly historic Texan-style charm & hospitality ~ starting with a warm welcome by Kay, a choice of several tastefully decorated historic cabins/ little houses & rooms on the property ... continuing thru the DELICIOUS HOME-COOKED BREAKFASTS and onto a darling historic town with shops and restaurants. It would also be a perfect meeting place for families and friends...each...

All I can say is that Ms. Kay is a divine innkeeper and this B&B is a gem! We stayed in the Sharecropper's cabin, and it was quite nice with a kitchen, bathroom, and living room. The entire grounds were just the embodiment of a Southern B&B and it felt a bit like Steel Magnolias. There is a lot of...

My mom, sister and I spent a girls weekend in the Garrison Cabin celebrating my sister's 50th birthday. I highly recommend anyone visiting Salado to stay at the Rose Mansion. Our cabin was cozy and charming and the innkeeper Kay was the best hostess ever. She made the most amazing breakfasts while we were there and her hospitality was second...

We had a Girl's Weekend in George's Cabin at Rose Mansion. At first we were a little hesitant about the layout of the cabin (go out on patio/dogtrot to get to the bathroom or to the other sleeping area) but it turned out amazing. Everything about it was perfect. A rainy, cold weekend was great there - we watched movies...

We have stayed at several of the B & B's in Salado and gone through several inn keepers at The Rose Mansion. The Rose Mansion is our favorite and Kay has really taken a charming place and made it even better. The rooms are going through updates which make a huge difference. Kay fixes breakfast fresh every day and has...

Don't miss this place! We stayed in a cabin and it was truly delightful. The breakfast was delicious, and the hospitality was out of this world. We stayed in George's cabin, but they are all truly delightful. Kay, the innkeeper,is truly a charming lady, and she will do everything to make your stay perfect and memorable.

Our little mom and daughter group stays at the Rose Mansion every year in December. The last few years it had seemed to be going down hill, but this year it was FANTASTIC! The Rose is being spruced up and given TLC - we loved the changes! The food was warm, comforting, and yummy! The house was warm, inviting, and...

Four of us stayed in the Chester House for two nights during the Christmas Stroll. It met our needs perfectly. I especially like the location off the main road for privacy. It's clean and comfortable with a warm, cozy feeling throughout. I love all the personal touches Kay has added. The grounds and homes are amazing! The breakfasts were outstanding...delicious, plentiful...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled among towering oaks, elms and persimmon trees, this traditional Greek Revival style mansion, complimentary cottages and log cabins are located on two acres of landscaped grounds surrounded by a picturesque picket fence. The grounds offer a mini tour of early Texas dwellings. Texas markers and one National Register marker attest to the authenticity of the Rose Mansion, two beautifully restored log cabins, a summer kitchen cottage and a larger Greek Revival cottage. The main home, built in 1870 by Major A.J. Rose, has four bedrooms (three have fireplaces), a grand parlour, an elegant dining room and a cozy country kitchen. The mansion is complimented with Rose family memorabilia and authentic antiques. A windmill with a cypress storage tank, a rock smoke house and an old wagon are nostalgic reminders of the past. Shaded seating areas, swings and hammocks located across the grounds compliment these accommodations. No wonder the Mansion was featured in the June 1996, February and November 1999 issues of Southern Living Magazine! ... more   less
