Stayed on first floor bayside room with walk out patio to the private pier. The bay is just a few steps outside the back of the hotel with gorgeous water views. There's a private deck to fish off of for the guests. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are a little dated but clean. Restaurant has a small menu with excellent food reasonably priced for a hotel. Diane the restaurant and bar waitress is amazing and really makes you feel at home. This is one of the most relaxing quiet hotels we have ever stayed in.
This is my second visit to this hotel and although some improvements were made after Hurricane Harvey, I don’t think the hotel has been maintained overall. Our room was very humid and damp, including all bedding and towels. The lampshades were moldy and there was rust around the ac vent. The shower door was broken and the water did not drain. Also- the ac blows constantly and quite loudly (deafening) and you are unable to adjust the unit to power off. I also asked for additional towels from the cleaning service but was told they were out (even though there were several visible on the cart) so just went to the desk to retrieve them. I would recommend the other area hotels and just having a drink at this place.
Although the pool view patios were very nice, we were glad we paid a little extra for the bay side view. We watched the sunset from our rocking chairs. The hotel has a resort style pool area open until 11 and a private fishing pier open 24 hours. There is free breakfast with Texas waffles. Nearby are several restaurants and boat rentals. Definitely will come back.
Have stayed here off/on for several years....they closed for 18 months or so after Harvey and seem to have done a good job in rebuilding/remodeling. We've always found the rate to be on the high side for the area but the location on the water and walking distance access to some good restaurants compensates. We spent 3 nights in early July, 2022 and had a nice time. The pool is a big draw and it needs some basic cleaning performed - not bad enough to keep you out of the water but when you inspect the sides you can see it could do with some elbow grease and a good scrub brush. Rooms are comfy and clean. Most importantly for Texas, the air conditioning is OUTSTANDING - whoever designed the system gets an A+. Stairwells are cool as well. Overall, good place.....they are facing staffing challenges like everyplace in the universe but seems to be doing OK with it.…
This is the 3rd time coming here. I really love this place and have had great experiences, even when we came right after Harvey and they were only partially open. However, this time we've had a couple of issues. I used their website to request a 1st floor room; I love being able to walk out and sit right on the bay straight from the room. When we arrived I was told they did not have my message. I was told not only did they not get my message, but my room was going to be on the 3rd floor. I guess they preassign rooms because we were told our room was not ready, but I overheard the person after me was checked in; same type of room we requested, King suite bayside. We drove around for an hour and when we came back our room was ready. DO NOT LET THEM GIVE YOU ROOM 67!! I feel like we are on an airplane getting ready for take off. After hearing my disappointment of not getting a first floor room, front desk said we had a "beautiful view". Failed to mention that we would not be able to have a conversation on our balcony. We are right next to the hotel AC compressors which never shut off. The noise gets even louder when our room AC comes on. I had looked forward so much to these couple of days. Heartbroken that I can't hear myself think, unless I go inside. What's the point to that.....I guess I can look at the view through the curtains....…
It is now 4:30 pm. I have been here since 4:00 the posted check in time. The clerk suggested waiting in the bar. 20.00 for 2 drinks! Ok a clever tactic. Bar is 10 steps from desk. As I checked for the 3rd time if the room was ready. She asked if I would get to the end of the line. Umm I have been in line since 4:00! She didn’t get it! Well it’s Rockport!
A very pretty and nice place to stay. The staff, the breakfast , views and the pool were all amazing. It is a very relaxing and safe place The rooms were very spacious. I love the lobby and breakfast area views.I definitely recommend it and would love to go there again.
The location of this hotel cannot be beat. One of the best restaurants in Rockport-Fulton is right across the street. Rockport Beach is less than 10 minutes away. Plus the Fulton House is just a block away. For being right on the Bay, the cost was pretty reasonable. I would like to give a shoutout to whoever cleaned room 44 on 6/12/22. You didn't have to tuck our daughter's Mickey into bed, but that was a wonderful gesture, and we truly appreciated it! Thank you so much!
As always, an absolutely wonderful stay. The facilities are very well maintained, the staff is beyond friendly and helpful. The breakfast is perfect for starting the day. Their private piers are great for early morning bird and dolphin watching and night fishing. This is our “go-to” place when we visit Rockport. We are never disappointed.
We stayed here for a special anniversary trip. Splurged on the King Suite with bay view. We enjoyed the view and even saw a couple of dolphins one afternoon. Spectacular sunrise our third morning. Convenient location within walking distance of multiple restaurants. Didn't try hotel restaurant, but probably will if we stay here again. Breakfast in mornings was good, with decent coffee. Only compliant is exercise room was not great/functional, but not really reason I was there. Staff was SUPER nice. My quilter wife got some good tips on local quilt shops from the bartender. If you want a room close to the water, this delivers, but be aware it is not on a beach.
