We checked in Tuesday, last week, checked out on Thursday morning. On arrival, the motel was quaint, clean, and quiet and remained like that for our stay. The room was comfortable, though a bit small for the queen bed. A sign on the mirror warned of water shortages, so don’t run it too long to get hot in the shower ‘cause it won’t, nor would the cold water get cooler the longer it runs. Breakfast orders placed the night before were delivered to our door by 7:30a.m. each morning. However, though coffee packets were included, how do you get water hot enough for coffee ? There was a microwave in the room, along with a fridge, but my immediate reaction was about the water situation, so we didn’t try the m/w to heat the water. The only other negative was the wi-fi was less than appreciable. The office told me they had two wi-fi, but once I logged in there was only one point on the signal on either of them. These reasons are why I have not given them a more positive rating.

Per TA reviews and folks at eating establishment, we located and secured a nice Amelia Earhart themed room with 2 comfortable queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, table w/2 chairs, coffee maker, hairdryer, and a nice walk-in shower. Tile floors a plus, linens were good, and TV selection good. COVID-19 breakfast selections room delivery was by selections chosen the night before. We like to patronize small mom and pop places like this. Stephanie at check-in selected #23 w/only one step for us to enter to accommodate limited mobility. Bar food nearby. Beach and ferry were nearby.
Only issues were the dirty AC filter and refrigerator freezer needed defrosting. Pool was cold but seating adequate and spa was not working. We would definitely stay again and recommend as alternative to name brand hotels.

This is a very nice place to stay. The staff are as friendly as can be and very helpful. It’s an older hotel but the bathroom and shower have been updated. The room had a tile floor which is nice. The air conditioner works great. The room isn’t all that big but we only sleep there. The room was very clean with very soft towels and the breakfast was enough for us.
Visit The Stingray Restaurant, homemade burger and chicken strips, not frozen, and we’re tasty. A young crowd was there. Also about 10 minutes away The Island Italian Restaurant was great. The staff was super friendly, the food delicious and the prices were very good.

My husband and I stay here every time we visit Port Aransas. We like airplanes and so do the owners of Amelia's Landing Hotel. Each room has an aviation theme, and we like supporting mom and pop businesses like this one. Breakfast is delivered to your room each morning. During the day I had the swimming pool to myself. I recommend this hotel to all my friends.

We were very unhappy with the cleanliness of our room. The floors upon arrival were filthy. The shower has mildew and mold all over it. Our feet were filthy if we walked on the floor without shoes or socks. The shower was so dirty, I was scared to shower in it. I took pictures and showed them to the owners only to hear, "it is the nature of the beast when staying at the beach." We have stayed at many beaches, in homes, in hotels, and in high rise condos. None of these other places had floors that turned our feet black because there were cleaned regularly. I asked if they would come clean the floors and was told no, it wouldn't do any good, besides they cannot keep anyone on staff, and they put the wrong shower types after Hurricane Harvey, and they cannot keep the shower clean. In other words, oh well, that is our hotel. We cannot do anything about it. Stay somewhere else, if you do try this place, check out the room first. Maybe they will be cleaning the place better.
Oh, and make sure your room has a fire alarm, ours didn't.

Excellent locally owned hotel. Nice airplane-themed rooms. We stayed in Floatplane #5 (June 5-7). Great shower and vanity. Wife and I were in a single Queen room. We were extremely comfortable the whole stay. I enjoyed their nice pool on our last afternoon there. They allowed you to choose items for a continental breakfast the day before and it was delivered in a container outside your room before 7am each morning. The muffins and croissants seemed to be freshly baked and very good.
In my opinion, the great value in the stay was the location in the middle of Port A. We loved to walk to different areas of town. You are literally minutes from everything. We will definitely be staying there again.

We’ve been to Port A several times but had never stayed at Amelia’s and decided to give it a try. Everyone we spoke to, from booking the reservation, to the lady at the front desk when we checked in, to other motel staff we interacted with, were all so friendly and helpful. The room was nice. Was it as comfortable as home? No, but I never expect that from any place we stay. The location is very convenient to everything, easy to walk to shops or restaurants, and not far at all to drive to the beach. The price is very reasonable and we would definitely stay here again!

Comfy rooms, continental breakfast delivered to your door, & great location. The rooms are chock full of aviation history & have been renovated. Amelia’s is always my first choice for a place to stay in Port A. Really enjoyed my stay!

Our trip to Amelia's at best was disappointing. To begin, the touted mom pop personal touch hotel that was newly remodeled had shabby accommodations. Our bed was terribly uncomfortable, the a.c. wasn't working properly and our refrigerator didn't cool the room. The furniture was garage sale finds. The next morning, we got our "special breakfast" delivered to our room. The muffins were the Big SAMs Walmart brand while the juice was a tiny 4 oz texsun can. How is this better than a hot waffle? I addressed my issues with the staff regarding the room and was told that everything would be taken care of with the exception of the bed, which the staff person person advised was a new pillow top mattress and went to say that her husband likes a really firm bed while she prefers a soft bed, but as long as he's comfortable, she's happy. When we returned that evening, the room was still hot, the fridge not fixed. That pretty well sums up our stay.

We take every review seriously, but there are four things y'all need to know about this review: 1. The room this guest stayed in (the Wright Brothers Room) has achieved a satisfaction rating of 3.88 on a scale of 0 - 4. (We survey every guest during their stay.) That is a 97% approval rating for that specific room. 2. The person who wrote this review booked on-line with a third-party travel agent, and then tried to cancel inside of the 72-hour cancellation policy. When informed that they would be charged one night if they canceled, the guest begrudgingly said "Well, then I'll use the room." 3. The reviewer booked late. As a result, all of our new double-queen rooms were already taken, and she was assigned The Wright Brothers room -- our last available double queen room. That room has been redecorated, but is NOT one of our brand new rooms. That said, dozens of people have stayed in it this year, as recently as last night, and loved it -- as is borne out by the satisfaction ratings. 4. The bed mentioned in the review is less than 2 years old. I have tested it out, and could find nothing wrong with it. It's a pillow-top Serta. (The reviewer personally told us that their spouse loved the bed.) Same goes for the air conditioner -- it is running cold and no one else has mentioned a problem. (We checked it during their stay, and could find no discrepancies. The unit is 19 months old.) The little dorm fridge in the room has been replaced -- the rubber seal was bad, and was allowing cold air to escape. It still kept food and beverages cold, but could not make ice, so we replaced it. To sum up, other than replacing the fridge after they checked out (which was our first opportunity, as there is no "refrigerator store" on this island) the room is EXACTLY the same now as it was when they checked in. And 97% of the guests who have stayed in it have rated it "Excellent". In our humble opinion, this guest was upset about not being allowed to cancel.

Think again 10 fold before booking here. Travel Co. booked two friends from different states here for a 4 day leisure vacation. Friends arrived after long flights and checked into separate rms. A hot day, no ocean view, room very small & stuffy w garage sale type furnishings, refrigerator not working and full of defrost water, A/C on/off ?? working adequately, tub finish flaking off, multiple cords plugged into electrical adapter stuck on top of small floor frig. AND 20 brown clusters near the headboard on the wall. Attendant reported flecks appeared to be buggars!! Yep! OMG! Called travel agency and booked another lovely room in near-by Rockport. Checked out w the mgr. and we were informed the owners were out of town and could not be reached by phone. The CLINCHER, think again before checking in... We did not provide a 7 day cancellation notice according to H.Inn policy and we were billed $500.00+ EACH on separate credit cards. For real! Jay sent a document for us to sign in order to receive a refund outlining 1) will not take legal action against his business, 2)will not post a poisonous review of H. Inn. One friend signed the document 2 mos. ago--no refund rec'd, second friend advised not to sign document. Think again, is this who you would choose to do business with. $500. poorer, lesson learned.

This review contains several omissions that must be addressed. 1. This was an on line booking for the busiest week of the year with a 7-day cancellation policy clearly stated on the booking site. 2. They were in the room for several hours before they came to the desk to make complaints. We instantly offered them different rooms. They declined. Later, this guest told us that she was expecting a hotel ON the beach, based on what she was told by her travel agent. We have always been six blocks from the beach (thus no sand in the rooms). 3. They later disputed the charge with their credit card companies -- and LOST. Generally the credit card companies back up their card-holders, but not in this dispute. 4. They and their travel agent both called us and threatened to slander us on the internet if we didn't refund their money since they had lost with the credit card company. At that point, I offered to refund their money, even though I was under no obligation to do so. To protect us from slander in the future, (this happened in July and they are just now writing a 'review') I sent them a standard business form whereby they would agree to NOT post anything on the internet. By agreement, both parties needed to sign. One did, the other did not and therefore I did not send the refund awaiting the form from the other guest. The results are here for all to see. Bottom line: If you want to stay ON the beach, it's probably best not to book a room at a hotel in six blocks from the beach. We make every attempt to make our guests stay as enjoyable as possible, but, sorry, we can't move the beach.

I know that they will not rent out rooms to people under 25 unless there is an adult over 25 supervising them. Call the hotel and explain your situation. The owners are wonderful people.
Answer from Jay H
You have to be 18 normally, but for the 2 weeks of spring break, the minimum is 25 years old. We like to keep a quiet property.
Answer from Jay H
It would be $99.95+tax per night in a double queen room on April 27-29th. Plus there is a $25+tax pet fee per night. Call us to make this reservation! 361-749-5572 or toll free 888-671-8088. Don't forget about our off least dog park on property!
