We stayed at this park, in a cottage, several years ago when our kids were little and loved it!! This time it was my husband and I along with our 2 dogs. We stayed in a Corgi Cottage. The room was clean and everything worked properly. So many improvements have been made to the park with more to come. We kept our dogs on a leash no longer than 6 ft,, per the rules, and had no issues. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next stay and thank you to Great Escapes for a great get-a-way. See you soon!!
I invited a long time friend and his wife to come by to see me while I was camping at Mitchell RV Park. So disappointed to find out that they were charged $40.00 at the gate just to come in for a couple of hours. My Option... that's a little greedy.
My husband and I rv everywhere and stay in all different styles and kinds of rv parks. Mitchell RV Resort is a Great place to go. Prices are more than reasonable and the people there are friendly and accommodating. They run a fantastic park. Whether passing thru or going to one of their great events, you will be glad you chose this park. These folks must work really hard to have a clean, fun amenity and activity oriented park! I took time to read their reviews, and the few bad ones recently posted sound like a vendetta, maybe same family and a collective campaign. Idk but We didnt see any issues there!
My husband and I have stayed at many campgrounds. It is due to how our entire family was treated by the owners of Mitchell’s RV park that I must write a review. The owners are the most disrespectful, unfair and dishonest people I have encountered. Motorhomes, Campers and camping is quite expensive and time consuming to prepare for. Families are seeking a special and unique experience with other family members and close friends. I feel they have lost site of why they are in business. We camped this past fall and as I walked my dogs the owner going full speed on his golf cart headed across two roads, several sites and straight for me. I had to run out of the road as fast as I could. He definitely let me know I am not safe there. I regret not reporting this incident. That was a mistake. We camped this winter and two guests joined the 4 of us that Friday. There were 6 of us total. They were staying overnight. Around 24 to 26 hours is what they stayed. They were charged for 2 days $40.00. Keep in mind our spot for our motorhome was only $42.00. One guest put a Yelp review that he felt the daily fee was to high. The owner called one of us and said if he did not take that Yelp down the couple he was visiting had to leave and the 2-guest had to leave. One of us went to the office and asked if there had been a misunderstanding and what can we do. Also said we would have him remove the Yelp and the owner said ‘If the yelp isn’t taken down yaw can all leave and you won’t be invited back”. We were like “wow” great holiday this has turned out to be. See I believe business owners need to read their yelps and consider how to meet the customers needs when possible. The guest did take down the yelp and we stayed however, not comfortable. The next incident involved 2 of us that got a price to rent a spot for 4 months at $375.00. Upon checking in they were asked for an extra $100.00 (surprise!) Near the end of the month the owners called asking for next months rent. They said rent for the next month is due. The tenant was told when they rented the spot from the get go that it was $375.00 for 4 months. Now at the end of the month they have reneged on their agreement. Now they want to change the price to 375 per month for a camper to sit empty most of the time. They do not use it maybe 2 weekends a month. They told the owner why in the world would I pay that much money to have my camper sit empty most of the time. We will use it a few weekends a month. They told him if he did not like he could of course “LEAVE”. So what we took from it was they really did want us all to leave back when the first comment was made about the daily rate. No one in this group has ever done anything wrong at this campground. In addition there are No work out facilities, No Cable, spotty WiFi Intermittent phone service, Inconsistent pricing and website information, Power Failures, Water not working at times, Flooding of sites. Bring lots of towels and rugs. If you have pets’ good luck. Pool maintenance such as chlorine levels could be improved upon during high usage hours, Dryers in the laundry room are worn out, Pets, we have two small dogs that are never off leash. This park had a large pit mix stray roaming the park our entire stay. We were told not to worry it won’t bite us. A Jacuzzi, they do not have. On our first visit we asked if they would ever consider putting in a jacuzzi. I have rheumatoid arthritis. The owner snapped her head around and said very quickly “We have been doing this for 17 years and we know what we are doing”. I left the office on that retort, Golfers ever want a wife to ride along-only if you pay the full fee for her to play golf! They were afraid she would steel “Golf”. Nothing was gained by this behavior. If anything, that couple will never return nor will we nor our family or friends. They will not affect any future holidays there are so many beautiful campgrounds near us. Mitchells is not the only one. .…
Terrible experience, save your sanity. Do not subject yourself to the toxic abuse you will receive dealing with the owners at Mitchell Rv. Not hospitable, in fact I truly believe they hate people and are in the wrong business.
This place was great. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was furnished well and homey. There is a lot of things to do - miniature golf, 9 hole par 3 golf course, several playgrounds, and a fishing pond. The grounds were very well maintained and the people running the place are outstanding and trusting. We will definitely go back and highly recommend.
Our family took our fifth wheel trailer here this past weekend and we had a blast! We stayed in the pools most of the time since it was so hot, but the kids also loved the playgrounds, train ride and mini golf! We didnt leave the campground the whole weekend. We will definitely be back! 😊
We came for the annual Halloween Happenings. This time with family with us. I cant begin to tell you how wonderful this place is. Fun for all ages. We felt safe there with all of our kids playing and having a wonderful time. Doris and Kevin you have once again out done yourself. We all cant wait until next year! We will see you before then for sure!
Mitchell Resort and RV Camp, (Perrin, Texas), was completely unknown to me, yet it is barely two hours tow from my home. Situated in the country, a couple miles east of Perrin, one would expect a basic parking area on dirt and maybe a little gravel and a few sprigs of grass. I could not have been more wrong! I pulled our 5th wheel RV into a beautiful entrance with nice modern cabins alongside. (I think there are about 40 cabins.). They can accommodate 112 RVs, all on spacious sites, with full hookups and I believe cable TV in each as well. The owners, Doris and Kevin Mitchell, are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. They built a first class facility, with plenty of amenities, including a gorgeous 9-hole golf course, an 18-hole miniature golf course, hiking and running tracks, 3 or 4 swimming and water play facilities, a large building, (I estimate as about 120’ by 60’), plus a number of other smaller ones for meetings, card playing, etc. (There is more, but I am runnng out of space.) If you seek a nice place to haul to for relaxation or bring a group, Mitchell Resort and RV Camp is perfect!! We came for a Bluegrass Festival, but from now on, we need no other reason to visit this amazing campground. We will definitely be back.…
LOVE THIS PLACE!! The owners and staff are courteous, personable, accommodating, and patient (especially with the little ones). Of course, this opinion comes from one who follows the rules and does not seek special treatment (hint to those who only gave 1 star- obey the rules!). The owners are well aware of what is going on on their business grounds, for good reason! The park is very clean, cleverly designed and themed, and family friendly. The train ride for kids is ideally scheduled at 10am and 4pm. The laundry facility is tidy with only $1 per machine. The 4 pool areas are clean with the basic extras if needed, such as life jackets (PFD’s) for the kiddos. The RV sites are spaced with reasonable room and the cabins are impressive. Grills and tables are filth-free! The prices are ideal and well worth the consumer dollar. We’ll be back! This veteran owned company is worth the trip, Semper Fi!…
