This trip started with a little bit of business in mind but we made a promise to get the business outta the way day 1. What an amazing time we had. We stayed in the motel because everything else had been rented out and it was perfect. The owners were just the nicest people. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. The scenery was amazing from the second floor and everyone staying was just a breath of fresh air.. It honestly was a whole park of full of kiddos playing, laughter and great food.. I have to send a special note of thanks to the man that saved the day.. I woke up our final day there to a flat on my ride and thanks to a newer car and me not doing my due diligence, I found NO SPARE.. But one of the gentleman running the marina that day was quick to save the day. He brought over a small compressor that gave me enough air to make it over to the big compressor. From there he aired it up enough to get me to town where wal-mart quickly plugged it up... Great times happen in the outdoors.. Yall should start here and Thank you Miles!! You were a trip savior..

They have the basics you may need for fishing on Toledo Bend. We went multiple times for ice, minnows, crickets, some groceries, and the husband needed a cap other than the hat he brought. They have a grill from which we didn't eat, but the food smelled SO GOOD! The baseball cap was overpriced, but we chalked it up to having a souvenir for the husband. The rest was priced as you'd expect from a convenience store, and the minnows were healthier than those we found over at Toledo Town & Tackle. Also, the ladies were nice and helpful, and we used their boat ramp once to be closer to the area we wanted to fish (where we stayed has its own boat ramp).

I've been staying here for the better part of 19 years now with my dad, who has been going for much longer. The folks that run this are about as down to earth as you can get, very helpful and friendly. It didn't take long for me to realize they value their customers considering I'm only down there one time a year and they remember you as though your conversation ended yesterday. I've only stayed in their "cabins", which are trailers, and not any of the newer motel rooms or houses they own. Though having walked by each every year, I would say they seem to all be in very nice condition. The trailers, which are in the RV park, are simple, yet more than one needs for a week long stay. If you really want to get to know the folks that own/run the marina and more of the other residents, all you need to do is show up when they open the marina and grill first thing in the morning. Great conversation to be had or just listen to. Their marina has a grill, as mentioned, which has great burgers and BBQ sandwiches. Their breakfast sandwiches are great too. The marina also has a lot of the basic essentials for food and drink, but don't expect a huge selection as it is meant to cover basic needs and items you've forgot. They also have some tackle and basic auto/rv/boat supplies...basic though as they are not a shop. Oh and they have onsite laundry facilities if you need them too. I believe they rent some boats, though I've never asked as I bring my own. Which by the way, they have two separate ramps to launch your boat with plenty of parking. All-in-all, I really enjoy coming back here every year. I've seen them make a lot of updates to their property and see the love they've given it over the years. It's not fancy, but it's just what you need for a nice get-a-way from the world to do fishing and I suppose hunting.

The owners were great, and very dedicated to making sure you had anything you might need. Wifi worked fairly well, Verizon was in and out. If you find yourself in this part of the woods this is a great place to be!
