Guests have lauded the Vanilla Garden Boutique Hotel for its commendable amenities, such as pristine rooms and a serene pool area complemented by a welcome glass of fizz. While the hotel's cleanliness and service earn high marks, with staff providing a warm reception, some visitors suggest there's room for improvement in maintenance and deeper cleaning. The location is generally celebrated for its convenience to the beach and local attractions, though not all are impressed with the surrounding area. The atmosphere is described as peaceful, yet lacks vibrant poolside entertainment. Rooms are modern and spacious with appreciated features like hot tubs and balconies, despite occasional maintenance issues noted. Value is perceived through direct booking perks and special offers. The hotel maintains a quiet ambiance, effectively insulated from noise, though some external sounds have been mentioned.

Start with positivity, Rafa in the morning on the egg station is a great guy, friendly and always happy to please, it can be pretty stressful but he always has a smile on his face.

Food in general is limited but appears cooked on site and has a better quality than bigger hotels we have stayed in. Only the one night we ended up eating out but tbh that’s more us as we are a little picky with food.

Service in general is good, staff friendly and try to help, reception is always manned and again friendly and welcoming hello as you pass in the mornings.

Beds super comfy after a long flight and bus trip, as soon as my head hit the pillow was fast asleep.

Location just up from the strip, tbh we have stayed here at least 5 times, generally same time of the year, it’s normally peaceful and you can’t hear anything from the strip, this year it’s a bit louder, that could be because we had a room other side of the hotel maybe?

So the other bits, the hotel hasn’t changed in the 5 years we have been coming and tbh it feels a little dated and needs a refresh, just basics like sealant round the sink and shower screen, marks on the walls, and definitely needs the beds pulling out and a good clean underneath, the tv auto on is a tad annoying when you think you’ve turned it off. Room fittings a little bumped and bruised and just feels old. But it’s still a comfortable stay and I appreciate a 365 days a year hotel makes it difficult to get these things done, but it does need sprucing up.

The works at the back of the hotel didn’t bother us as we prefer to be on the beach’s rather than the pool, they appear to be replacing the walls of the sewage channel, or mountain flood channels and fitting pipe work at the same time, looks a big job.

Being a small hotel there’s no late checkout, or availability for a room to shower pre flight back which is always a little odd.

Would be nice to have the option of mini fridge empty rather than filled with things we would never use, and wasn’t sure what was free due to the late flight over chargeable, are a banana and felt guilty all week of a crazy banana charge 🤣

Well what can I say about this little gem of a hotel. On arrival we were greeted by a welcome drink of fizz. Our room was spotless and spacious with plenty of wardrobe space, a safe (payable), kettle, fridge and microwave. Bathroom was spacious and had a big walk in shower. Our room was 124 and overlooked the courtyard area and pool and had sun in the afternoon which was lovely to sit on balcony before tea.

Breakfast was 8am-10.30 and was buffet style with a hot selection and the usual fruit /yogurts /cereals. There is also a show cooking area too with all kind of eggs freshly made for you and omelette’s that are made to your liking.Rafael is one of the chefs on the show cooking and he makes your day with always a smile on his face and a happy greeting. In fact all of the staff at this superb hotel have a friendly smile for you every day, that you can see they love their work and go out of their way to help make your holiday the best.

Evening meal was 6-9.30pm and there was a solo singer on every night in the background whilst you were eating. Again it was buffet style with different themed nights ( Mexican,Spanish,Italian,English etc..). Show cooking again that had different Fish,Steak,Chicken Breasts,Pork Steaks etc.

Pool was lovely and was same depth throughout. Lovely thick mattress sun beds, some doubles and singles. Also a happy hour every day 4-5pm on beer and cocktails, and a DJ set every Wednesday & Saturday 2-5pm with chill out tunes.

Hotel is situated in a good place only a few minutes from the beach and the main Veronica’s strip. Although I must say we didn’t hear a thing in our room from the strip. The hotel is really quiet and peaceful at all times of day ( and it was full while we were there) It’s only a a short walk to Costa Adeje too and the music bars and restaurants on the Main Street in Americas. A good act to see is Soul Stream that are on in The Soul Suite and Brahms & Liszt, a really good soul act. Billy Porter at Princess Di’s is a great comedian and Mad Mel a comedienne/ singer at Chillies Bar. A good tip is to download the ABC Tenerife App that will tell you every bar/acts that are on each day.

All in all we had a fantastic holiday here and Vanilla Garden would be our 1st choice every time, keep doing what your doing guy’s

Check in: nice and easy and we were given a welcome drink which was a lovely touch. Thankyou it was needed after getting through security in the airport.

First impressions of the hotel is that it is very well maintained with all the plant life they have which I thought was lovely. Plus everywhere seems clean!

The room: clean and tidy comes with a mini fridge which has drinks and snacks in (payable but not expensive) only thing I would say is the shower glass needs re sealing as it leaks towards the toilet but that’s just a maintenance issue. Over the course of the week we had a cleaner come in every day clean sides and replenish toilet rolls and towels and make our bed (hotel style) we actually thought this was so good I’ve been to other hotels and it’s every other day. The cleaners were respectful and didn’t move any of our personal belongings. The level of trust is nice in this hotel.

Food: half board. We had breakfast every morning. The buffet isn’t massive like other hotels where you find a large section however, you get tea coffee juice and water. Food options full section of eggs to your liking cooked on order as well as bacon. You can get fried sausages and round hash browns, beans plus loads of cheeses hams cereals yogurts fruits bread with normal toasting machines plus your normal rotating ones if you like them on holiday. Lastly they have a chocolate fountain with pastries.

Evening meal: we only had it once since we planned to eat out most of the time however what we did eat was nice but can’t overly comment on this.

Lunch (payable) we had lunch there a few times and the foods is so nice! I’d recommend paying for lunch there it’s worth it!

Swimming pool: doesn't open till 9am so you can’t reserve beds untill then. They give you 30mins to allow you to put your towel down and grab breakfast which isn’t too bad. The beds at the back are the best for all day long sunshine!

We were given some vouchers for across the road which was nice as I think they are owned by the same company. Fantastic foods so worth nipping across.

I did see on reviews a lot of people mentioning being harassed for certain things as they walked out the hotel. We only noticed that my boyfriend would be asked as we got on Veronica strip which at the bottom of the hill plus just saying you don’t do that was more than enough we didn’t feel that after saying this they weren’t happy about it. We did avoid Veronica at night simply because we didn’t want to be involved in any issues. You can go around it through the back roads.

Overall fantastic hotel and we would 100% stay again!

First impressions are good, extremely friendly and helpful staff from reception, cleaner's, restaurant staff & chefs, etc. Room was overlooking pool which would have been fine apart from the building work going on from 8am to sometimes until 8pm,(normally they don't work on a weekend only one Saturday while we were there for 3 weeks) consistent banging etc, this is major a major work project, no fault of the hotel, but tui should explain more clearly its extremely off putting in our opinion, luckily we could move to another room a couple of days later, new room was definitely better a quieter area, apart from the gate from the next doors Hotel Gala, which screeched ever time it opened or closed, sometimes from1:45 am rubbish collection, or when staff entered or left it screeched, after complaining to our reception I presume they did try to resolve the issue,I actually went round myself to the Hotel Gala reception explained the problem and to get it sorted, very helpful, apologetic staff, all it needed was a bit of WD40 on it, and 20 minutes later it was fixed, finally we could get some tranquil sleep time. Sunbeds could be a issue the first week no problems whatsoever, went down at 9am easily get a bed, the last 2 weeks certain people queued from 8am until it opened at 9am, staff did sometimes remove towels from beds if on before 9am, to be honest some folks reserved beds from 9am and didn't show up until after lunch 🤬 others believe me or not reserved 4 beds for 2 people crazy selfish folks, if you have a disability issues if you ask at reception they will reserve beds for you. Pool towels are available from reception. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer available 4/5 euros useful for long stayers. Food most days was plentiful and enjoyable, something for even the most fussiest of eaters, they have themed evenings, French,Italian English etc. It can be a bit hectic at breakfast especially for eggs cooked fresh, omelette, fried, poached etc. Example of prices from the bar a pint is 4 .50 euros, a bottle of dorada especial 3 euros (330mls), wine 3.60 a glass, still water 3.60 a bottle 750mls. Entertainment on every evening from 7:15pm until 10pm some very good ,some average a personal choice. It's a real shame about the building work and sunbed hoggers so for that reason we wouldn't return at present. I've submitted some photos of building work and 8am sunbed hoggers.

I’m a frequent visitor to this hotel and that should indicate my appreciation of the hotel, its facilities and the staff.
I have difficulty walking but with help (room location) I can navigate around the hotel easily by accessing ramps and lifts.
Just minutes away from main strip the hotel is positioned perfectly for both quiet and active days and nights as you choose. The plants, bushes and palms provide a lovely and picturesque atmosphere throughout the hotel public areas. WiFi is good in all areas.
The rooms and bathroom are spacious, clean and stylish.
The staff are helpful and courteous in all roles, from managers to maintenance and a special mention for the chefs and restaurant staff. Exceptional.
Restaurant provides show cooking and a large selection of food choices and at breakfast the chefs will cook to order and supplement many options.
The culture of this hotel is designed to make your stay everything you want it to be.
I plan to return.

Location location location!
Enjoyed being walking distance to everything and the noise isn’t as bad as people make it out to be.
We had a room on the inside of the hotel and we found no problem with the noise from local bars nor the construction which is currently being carried out. (Although blatant during the day when by the pool)
Loved staying here and found the beach front a quiet spot to eat and enjoyed walking to the other resorts (only 25 mins along a scenic beach route) to see different sides to Tenerife.

The reception team couldn’t be more helpful and we booked Siam Park and our taxi back through them. - They even arranged a breakfast basket for us as with our return flight we wouldn’t have been able to go down to breakfast.

Hotel itself is clean and well presented. The room had a Mini fridge (which we emptied and put our own things in there) and basic tea/coffee facilities. The hotel could provide pool towels with a refundable deposit and the hotel has generic shampoo/shower gel.

Pool bar shows live sports but dependent on what other guests are also looking to watch but they don’t put the sound on as the pool plays music which does get louder on Friday/saturday.

Only criticisms would be the reservation of sunbeds which is a hard thing to control and I’d love to be able to book a room only rate as the breakfast was chaotic and finished at 10:30.

Overall if I returned to Tenerife I would book this hotel again and the reviews of the resort are exaggerated in terms of noise and drunken behaviour.

2nd time at Vanilla Gardens April 2023 & now February 2024

Room: pool view 522. Spacious room, clean, comfy memory foam bed, microwave, kettle, tea & coffee no milk, safe 18€ per week, pool towels 10€ deposit, plenty of power sockets at dressing table but no mirror, defo needs a mirror, about 8 hangers in wardrobe, air con not great room never got below 24c.
Bathroom: good hairdryer, hand soap, shower gel, shower good but shower tray needs a deep clean an abrasive clean is required, floor tiles in front of hand basin also requires a deep clean as grouting is pink this is residue from human body fat (I work in cleaning so I no this is what it is)

Pool area: sunbeds are sofas, they are becoming very grubby and split compared to last year need replacing. You can always get a sunbed even tho you still get people queuing in the morning.
This time of year February sun disappears around pool by 4pm.

Restaurant: we were half board. Breakfast is ok but very little salad option to compliment continental breakfast, omelettes fried eggs etc & bacon made to order. Evening options not great, seen a massive difference from last year, limited selection even on salads, there is a show cooking option food not good quality.

Hotel very central, just up from Veronica’s strip. Could not hear any music. 3 supermarkets near by. Booked pool view room direct hotel 20€ a night cheaper than with tour operator.

We would stay again as hotel is nice but they need to improve on the food and keep up maintenance.

If visiting Las Americas strip and want a taxi back to hotel, go to the bottom of the strip as the top taxis charge double as it’s a longer journey round the 1 way system, under 5€

Private transfer £60 arrive/return.

Mixed experience at the Vanilla Garden. On arrival hotel seemed very nice - had a glass of fizz, man on late night reception was great very helpful.
I had emailed the hotel ahead of our stay as I was celebrating my 50th birthday, I had requested a room with a nice balcony in the sun. I was quite disappointed for such a special occasion there was no mention of my birthday & we were allocated a room that was in shade most of the time.
On my birthday itself we decided to use the hotel hot tub but the chlorine was so strong it tarnished all of my silver jewellery (admittedly I should have taken it off) & we needed multiple showers to take away the smell of chlorine. The lady on reception basically just said go into town & get them cleaned, just no empathy & I was really upset. These things tbh really spoilt our stay here.
We also found at the time of year we went the pool was shaded most of the time & the sunbeds that were in the sun people had towels on as soon as the pool opened. Sonwe spent most of our time out of the hotel which is a shame.
On the plus side the food was excellent, couldn’t really fault it & whilst I would bit stay here again the position is good, close to walk on the beach in either direction to Los Cristianos or Adeje.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your comments about your stay at Vanilla Garden****. We are sorry that you did not enjoy the room we had prepared for you and after an investigation into your reservation, we would like to point out the following: - At the time you requested a room upgrade to another with a jacuzzi, we sent you the cost of the upgrade and you decided to keep the pool view room. In consideration of your birthday we offered you a discount but you still did not accept it, which we deeply respect. -In winter the balconies are not as sunny as in summer due to the fewer hours of sunshine. Apart from this, the configuration of the hotel means that you do not have sun on the balcony all day unless you book a junior suite or deluxe suite as we offered you. -We must follow the health standards established nationally and the amount of chlorine that both the pool and the jacuzzi had was adequate, so we are sorry for what happened but the hotel cannot be responsible for following the standards. We do it precisely for the health of our dear guests. We hope to have shed a little light on certain issues that you mention in your comment and we deeply appreciate that you liked the rest of the aspects of the hotel, especially the service of our staff. Thank you very much

Best hotel i stayed in playa. If you are a foody this is the hotel for you. I paid for half board and was not disappointed. The hotel has a resident French chef who is just a wonder, he produces real 5* cooking and could not believe the quality dishes on the menu. The pool is well tended too with comfortable cushioned beds and large 2 person beds, the rooms are well furnished and all have comfortable mattresses. Some rooms have an outside hot tub or if you fancy some real luxury they have a vip room with custom coffee machine huge bed and a massive balcony with beautiful sunloungers relaxed sofas and a jaccuzi with sound system and light display. The bathroom has fab jet shower and a complement of free goodies. I tried this room for 5 nights and it was worth the money. All together a great hotel not too busy very relaxing stay here.

What a great hotel this is and would definitely recommend it. On arrival we were greeted by warm and friendly staff along with a welcome drink who were both quick and efficient. Pool towels were available from here at cost of 10 euros per towel , which is refundable on return and also the room safe at 18 euros per week. They also told us we could charge any food or drink to the room and pay at end of stay. We were in room 521 which was overlooking the pool which we requested and had the sun on the balcony from morning until around 3pm. A nice spacious room with a double memory foam mattress which would have probably been more comfortable if the base wasn’t creaking and groaning every time you moved, plenty of wardrobe space and shelves with only 2 drawers. Personally I think a few more drawers would have been good. A kettle, tea, sugar and coffee, fridge and a microwave were also in the room. A flat screen tv which you can use a fire stick and plenty of usb sockets in the room. The bathroom was very spacious with a double walk in shower. The only toiletries provided was a shower/hair gel which I found to make my hair tangly. Blackout curtains were great as the room was very bright. Maids were daily with towel change every day and always did a great job. Breakfast was 8am-10.30 and had the usual buffet breakfast with show cooking for any omelettes or poached eggs etc. help yourself to tea, coffee and juice. Evening meal was 6pm-9.30pm again buffet style. Again there is also the show cooking which had different choices each night if you wanted that. Desserts were a let down with the same every night so lacking in choices. Dining staff were excellent and very friendly and happy and they always aimed to please. The one that stood out for us was Rafael on show cooking as that guy was so funny and polite and friendly. Poolside had memory foam sun lounges both singles and doubles which was disenfectanted every morning. People were queuing at 845am to get the beds which opened at 9am. Entertainment was provided most nights but they started the shows from around 730pm while people were still eating which personally I don’t like as I want to sit and talk with my company. It wasn’t heavy music though . All entertainment stops at 10pm. The hotel itself is up a bit of an incline and is literally three minutes from Veronica’s strip. There is a side gate from the pool that is an easier walk to the front but these gates close it 940pm. Overall we had a fabulous stay and despite the bed problem we certainly would give this hotel top marks
