I stayed in these apartments last year and gave a great review but was not impressed this time. Last year we stayed in top floor apartment which was on one level and had a terrace with sun bed. This time we stayed in a duplex apartment and it was horrible. It was really dated. Living room on ground floor and bedroom upstairs reached by a very narrow spiral staircase. Difficult to get suitcases upstairs. Unsuitable for elderly or anyone with mobility problems. Could be dangerous for anyone of any age coming home having been drinking. The bathroom was horrible. Bath had lots of mould. There was a shower attachment but it was small and very old. You could not stand and have a shower. Sheet in bed had holes. Wall lamp was broke. The pool is on first floor but layout of complex, a courtyard means it does not get a lot of sun. The pool is very small and very deep. Unsuitable for children. There is very small kids section but only suitable for toddlers. There is a sun terrace on roof but you have to carry sun beds up a metal staircase and as for sunbeds they are hard plastic type with no cushions. You have to pay €40 deposit per couple on arrival but this is returned on leaving. The complex does not have a bar or restaurant though there is an excellent restaurant downstairs which serves great food and does an amazing very large breakfast for €3. The best thing about this complex is the location. It is across from Columbus hotel for anyone who knows the area. There are 2 good supermarkets across the road and beach is only a 5 minute walk away. I heard that the complex is closing soon so this review may not be any good. I have seen ads from Thomas Cook for a new Barranco complex. Not sure if it is same location. It looks nice but if layout is same I will have to find somewhere else to stay on my next trip. If you need more reviews please look at Barranco Bungalows as it is same place. Don’t know where bungalow name comes from as there are no bungalows.

Dear guest. We regret that on this occasion you have not been satisfied with your apartment. Barranco will begin a renovation in the next future, and the complex will have a totally new and much more modern look. We hope to receive you in this next and new stage. Best regards.

We stayed 10th Jan 19 I have to say check in was fine staff were never rude always pleasant.Room are basic but we were told by all reviews we looked at that the apartments wer a little back from the road &the club were on the corner. No are room was right above the Anchor Bar on main rod singing finished at 3.am bottles collected 6.am along with the street cleaning.so total of 3hrs sleep if you were lucky. Also we had couple of cockroaches. We have been told that this place will not be there next year has Thomas cook are doing a take over. But I must say we had fresh towels and bedding in are 10 day stay cleaners were ok.

Came for a week away with my best friend, rooms are a little dated but we were barely in the apartment so that didn’t matter. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. The WiFi isn’t very good here so wouldn’t spend the money on it again very poor connection. The stairs in the rooms are very steep so wouldn’t advise if you have mobility issues. It is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for.. good for a cheap get away and the restaurant joining the apartment gives you a discount on dining too!

Well Reading past reviews, I agree very basic, the pool is small and deep 1.60 ml ( 5 ft) shallow end. Don’t pay for the internet as not worth it you can get it free most places when out and about. The room are as clean as they should be the baths aren’t cleaned properly, go prepared with cleaning cloths. the staff on the rest are not happy and it shows.
