Tigotan Lovers & Friends Playa de las Americas, an adults-only hotel, garners praise for its impeccable cleanliness and prime location, a stone's throw from beaches and nightlife. Guests laud the friendly and efficient service and enjoy the hotel's lively atmosphere and entertainment, despite some noise complaints. The amenities, including pools, are a hit, though concerns are raised about extra costs and sunbed competition. Rooms generally receive mixed reviews, with some disappointment in outdated decor and views. The value for the price paid divides opinion among visitors.

Just returned from.Tigotan . Have been here several times before and it does not dissapoint.. The staff are all lovely, friendly and efficient.. the hotel is spotless except maybe for the carpets in the corridors which are looking a bit grubby... mind they have a lot of traffic using them so its not surprising.. The food is delicious and well presented..The staff in restaurant are always ready on hand for drinks and clearing plates etc.. We found the entertainment to be fab..a good variety of shows day and night.. Thanks once again to all at the Tigotan..we will definitely be back...

Hotel's Favorite
I went to Tigotan from 26th Aug - 2nd Sep with my partner, and we both absolutely loved it. The hotel is in a great location, about 5 minutes walk from great restaurants, shops and the beach. Firstly, the room. We opted for an upgraded 'Smart Room' with 'Executive Service'. Overall we'd say that the upgrade was worth it but there are a few things that could make it better. The bed was enormous and comfortable, and the mood lighting and sound system were nice little extras. Balcony facing the pool was great, meant you could watch poolside entertainment at night if you wanted to be in the comfort of your own room. Mini-fridge was stocked and for once actually cooled stuff down, rather than making it room temperature - real bonus, especially as Tenerife was in the 30c + whilst we were there. Two slight disappointments with the room were 1) The room was advertised as coming with a gaming console, which I confess helped sway my decision to book the room as I thought it would be entertaining whilst my partner got ready for evenings, however this was not in the room. 2) was that the toilet was a little run-down. Plenty space and shower was fine, but the grouting was dirty, it was dark and dingy, the mirror was damaged and generally it felt tired. It would have been disappointing had we even gone for the standard room, but it felt especially out of place having had the upgraded room. The 'executive' service entitles you to some nice upgrades - glass of fizz when you arrive, help along to your room at check-in and shown the technology, free mini-fridge, free use of the safe, free booking of sun beds and access to the executive lounge. The latter is a small area with indoor and outdoor seating, and unlimited free food and drink. Sandwiches and snacks are pretty basic but did the job as a quick snack between breakfast and dinner. Drink options were good and well stocked. The executive service also gives you a voucher for a free meal at their a la carte restaurant, which we used and was fantastic - especially the salmon tartare! Hotel had great entertainment, with activities on downstairs most days. The upstairs Cafe Del Mar section with the infinity pools were great, and although we didn't need it ourselves, it was great to see that one of the pools had been given gradual incline steps for those with accessibility needs. A special shout-out goes to the staff at Cafe Del Mar, the rooftop bar, who were incredibly friendly and accommodating - especially their patience with my Spanish! All in all, it's a great hotel in a fabulous location, just 5 minutes saunter from restaurants, bars and beaches. The staff were great as were the facilities, and I would definitely go back in the future.

will start with the good location is great, hotel facilities are v nice - heated outdoor pools, heated outdoor jacuzzis, plenty sun loungers, rooms, good internet, nice breakfast. also very good daytime entertainment- decent hotel, would stay there again now the bad arrived bang on check in time, 3pm. was told my room wasn't ready. not ideal considering the awful journey (no sleep the night before due to a re-routed flight). was told it'll be 45min & they'd call me when ready. they called me about 4:45pm. then went to check in & was asked if late check out was needed, I said - 'well seeing I'm almost 2hrs late checking in, surely you can just add those 2hrs on to the end of the reservation?' (seems fair doesn't it?) 'hmmmm I'll have to check if it's ok?' was the response. anyway, after some delegation between themselves they agreed. I was then told I'd booked 2 rooms. I hadn't. I work in logistics, I book trains, flights, hotels etc all day, every day. I dont make mistakes with this sort of thing. I explained we'd booked 1 room & nothing was said after, the receptionist clicked around on the desktop for 30 seconds, she gave me my room card & off I went following morning, I noticed that the hotel had charged me for the additional room. I went to reception & the same receptionist said I'd been charged a no-show, I asked why she didnt explain this at the time I checked in & she really didnt care, just gave me the reservations number to call & that said that I should of read the t&c. I called, they said I had booked 2 rooms, I knew I hadn't, I check & double check everything. the person on the phone then wanted to speak to reception, I handed her the phone & they come to the conclusion I was to be charged as I'd booked 2 rooms. in the end, I couldnt be bothered to argue over the £117 as I was fed up of being made to feel like I was a liar - then, 45min later, I get an email from the hotel, explaining that I had indeed booked 1 room & that it was a fault with their website & that the £ will be refunded, which it was

We stayed in this hotel at Christmas,it was a great stay, friendly, clean and good food.We had one issue with a trip that was sorted swiftly by Nico and his team albeit not the hotels fault they went above and beyond to rectify the problem which was caused by a coach company sending 2 coaches that broke down so hats off to them for that. Would certainly stay there again

We stayed one night due to our flight being diverted to Tenerife due to a sandstorm at Sal, Cape Verde and not being able to land. TUI arranged overnight accommodation, dinner, one drink & breakfast. From what we saw of the hotel everything was very nice & clean. We were allocated a room on the basement, very clean & comfortable, with a complementary bottle of water. It was fine for one night but i wouldn’t want to stay in it for a week or two. We were facing a wall, no view at all and we didn’t sleep well due to noise which sounded like water running. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Entertainment was provided in the hotel but as we were only there for one night we had a walk around Playa De Las America. The hotel is only about a 5/10 min walk from the centre of Playa De Las America. We continued our journey to Sal the following day.

Stayed for 10 days in February. Was initially booked into a low room with a view of a wall and some beer barrels so paid the upgrade for a pool view which was well worth it. The hotel is kept clean and seems well maintained. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Mini fridge and kettle were provided but not tea/coffee. We had brought some with us anyway and got some fresh milk from one of the nearby supermarkets. It is located in a good spot for the local bars and Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos is a steady walk. All the staff deserve a special mention; they were all very polite and well presented. The breakfast is standard for a Spanish hotel. No English bacon but not a problem to me. Fresh fruit selection was outstandingly good. Evening meal always had a good choice with show cooking. Some of the soups were especially nice, give the Lentil or White Bean soups a try. Quite a large pool area. A lot of guests were out at 6am grabbing sunbeds (idiots). We just went down at breakfast time and there were still beds available. Pool was warm and the large spa pool more so. Towels are provided for a 20 euro deposit. Decent pool bar with reasonably priced snacks for lunch. Entertainment is varied and quite good. One evening was a 4 piece Queen tribute band and were spot on. Only gripe I have is the bar on an evening. I like to go to bar and order/collect drinks myself but it seems you must you the waiter service. Didn't use the rooftop bar/pool but had a look and seemed quite nice. Overall a great adults only hotel.

Upgraded to a pool view…well worth the extra €20/day upgrade compared to the street view. Found food acceptable to good. Freshly cooked omelettes were tasty especially by the Moroccan chef. Buck’s Fizz was a great start to the day 😊 Dinner was decent, the Chinese food counter was good and the freshly cooked meats were nice. Good selection of desserts and cheeses Infinity pool and ground pool and Jacuzzi’s were fab…would return. Entertainment was good especially Elvis!

I had booked a room for period 12th - 19th December and paid extra for a pool view. When I arrived, I got a room in the basement with a wall view. I also paid for a safe which ended up stand alone and you could lift out of the wardrobe. They did move me to another room which had the safe and pool view. Unfortunately that was the only decent thing about the room. The room is very dated. Floor tiles are chipped/cracked and stained grout throughout the room and bathroom (to the extent the tiles move). Wall tiles aren't much better. Sockets not suitable for British adapters as they don't stay in (we had to use items to hold them in). It is an old stained bath/shower in the room which is very narrow. Rusty old toilet roll holder/towel rails. Screw came off the door hinge. TV didnt work which they replaced the next day. After speaking to various guests, it seems the first 2 floors haven't been updated and this is where the British guests are put unless you pay extra for upgraded rooms. One of the staff members advised a guest that these floors are Jet2 customer rooms. It's a shame as there are some nice parts of the hotel. The roof bar is great, although drinks a little expensive. Pool is big but can be sunbed war (towels down at 6am). Some sunbeds have padding while others don't (should be on all of them). The restaurant is nice and plenty to choose from. Bar at night has good entertainment but can take a while to get a drink as not allowed to go to the bar. You need to wait for table service and only 1 staff member was taking orders. The bar is at the front of the hotel and they leave the door open which causes it to be cold at night (in the winter). You also get the smell of smoke coming in due to guests smoking there. Most staff are pleasant except one at reception (short hair and glasses). I seen her being rude and abrupt to others throughout my stay. I got the same attitude from her at my checkout. She asked how my room was and I tried to explain to her our room is not 4 star due to details above. Before I could finish she was jumping in with an attitude asking if I had spoke to Customer Care, which I had but it made no difference. This hotel is not as good as other 4 star hotels ie Vulcano, Iberostar etc.
