The hotel is situated up a back street just off the main street. Personally this was a great spot for us, no noise in the evenings. There are several little supermarkets around the hotel and a bank/cashpoint around the corner.
Five minutes stroll from the hotel are a lovely few restaurants including a chinese, but would highly recommend La Terrazza Del Mare which is overlooking the beach and has superb food and drinks (not very cheap but very worth it!). 10-min stroll to the left of the hotel are all the bars and clubs, while 10-min stroll to the right has more for families and those not wanting to go clubbing!
The beach is literally 5-mins from the hotel with lots of cafes and bars across the beach front and a lovely grassy area overlooking the beach - we took a bottle of wine and watched the sunset here one night which was amazing.
We hired a car for three days and ventured out and about to Mount Tide and to explore, plenty to see and we even rode camels. We didn't venture further down to Los Cristianos (which is only a 20-min stroll from hotel) but wished we had as we were later informed that there is a lovely harbour and beautiful castle-type building where you can eat/drink.
All in all, would highly recommend this hotel and area for couples. We only walked up and around the clubby part of the area but didn't venture in, but this looked like lots of fun for the younger crowd (my partner and I are 35 and 36).
Work is underway to spruce up the public areas of the hotel both inside and out. Dining room is a little small for the number of guests so choice tends to be limited. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
Might be a little noisy for the light sleeper but this (road noise) dies down after midnight.
Worth asking for a keycard to the electronic locking gate at the rear of the hotel, avoids a lot of the local hills and gives almost direct access to the bus station and taxi rank.
If you decide to travel by bus, but your tickets at the information desk rather than on the bus as this can save around 30 to 40% on some of the longer journeys.
The hotel could be great but it is tired and really does need work done to it. I was very annoyed when I got to the hotel to find 2 single beds in the room although I had booked a double room, when I asked at reception Laura (who was fantastic and very helpful) explained that all the rooms are like that, not ideal for a couple. The food in the restaurant (we only ever had breakfast) was never hot but always Luke warm there was no jams or spreads which is unusual when they have a continental option.
The other really frustrating thing was that there was only 1 plug socket in the room ( there was one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom) which was not great when we live in such a technical dependant era (cameras, phones, iPads, iPods etc) it made it hard to keep everything charged.
We purchased the wifi from the hotel which was €19 for 1 week. It only allowed 1 person on it at a time so when my partner tried to go on it would kick me out and vice versa which meant we had to take turns, not great when you are paying that much for it.
I booked a pool view and when I arrived I was again annoyed to find it was like a scene from Fawlty Towers if you stretched your neck out you could see the pool at an angle but not the pool view that was advertised.
Hope that helps.
The room itself was spot on, first impressions were that it was a little dated but it had pretty much everything we needed. A dining table, 2 single beds pushed together with fresh bedding almost every day, a sofa/extra bed, wardrobe, good clean bathroom with fresh towels each day, kitchen with stove, fridge (which we stocked up with loads of things from Iceland!) and utensils/cutelry. You can also hire the safe if you wish. The balcony was also really nice, slightly private and had a clothes drying rail and patio furniture.
I have very little complaints about the room itself. What did annoy me was that you have to pay to hire the remote and watch TV each day, which was just not worth it when we were in our room so little. Yet I did miss having backround noise from the TV when I was getting ready. The floor was completely tiled so my bare feet were always dirty off it, it was clean to look at but could use a good mop!
The hotel itself was actually quiet, however on a few nights I could hear people next door and in the flat below us partying, which was annoying at like 2am...
The pool was lovely, good to swim in. Sunbeds and umbrellas are free to use, but you do have to pay for a sunbed mattress but we just used our towels.
When we arrived the coach driver dropped us off at the back of the building along a long stretch of road, if this happens to you don't walk all the way around! We were almost going to but noticed people going through a gate after pressing a buzzer so followed them in. Find this gate, press the buzzer, it will save you a trip! We were also met by our coach going home out the back too.
The location was excellent, 10 minutes walk to Siam Park (I suggest booking excursions at one of the many places when you arrive), 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to shops and more restaurants. Taxi's also seem to be very cheap.
We did not try the food at the hotel but there's so many places handing you menus in the street that you won't be stuck for choices.
Overall it was very good value for money, check in and out was easy, came and went as we pleased. I would most definately stay here again. Brilliant Bonanza!
The staff in the hotel are nice especially the manager (SVEN GORAN ERICCSON LOOK-A-LIKE.) The food was great lots of variation with different meats in sauces. There was always chips for the kids!
The rooms are nice and clean NEVER any COCKROACHES which was good! The pool is nice and is deep enough for a dive. Table tennis and pool were good to play when the heat outside got to much.
Beach volleyball is also good a court with sand in TRY IT.
The only negative i can think of was there was no entertainment at all and the TV is in German or spanish :-(
The other reviews are really unfair and all i can say s don't believe everything.
I would defo go back this is the second time at the hotel and we love it!!!
Things good about the hotel
1. Good location
2. Maids came almost every day if not every second day
3. Walking distance from Siam park, restaurants, beach, shops and the nightclub strip.
4. Hotel staff are very friendly
5. Prices of food and drink are reasonable.
Things that aren't so great
1. Pool area is quite small
2. Have to pay extra for things like, wifi, fan or safe.
3. No aircon in rooms
4. Walls are thin so can be a bit noisey
5. No entertainment at night or things to do through the day.
Over all this hotel is good for couples or friends who are looking for a place just to stay.
"Floor 5 or higher opt out of rooms close to the road, rooms in the middle and directly above the pool area are the best!"Read full review
