My partner and I stayed here. Upon arrival we weren't overly impressed with the view from our room although it was a lovely clean room, I had requested a pool view. Within minutes of requesting a different room with a better view, we were accommodated and were very happy with our room and view - huge balcony!! The kitchen facilities were great, everything you need to drink wine, fry an egg or chop and cook meat and veg! The rooms were regularly cleaned with towels and linen change. The pool area was very spacious and no children - this was a bonus as there was no urgency to 'save sunbeds', we often didn't go to the pool til after lunch and there were plenty of loungers and parasols available. Food is lovely and very reasonable at the hotel as are the drinks. Nice bar area indoors too, although small. Restaurant looked and smelt nice in the evening but we didn't eat there. One night we did order burger and chips from poolside and took it to our balcony to have supper. Room service is also available. There is also a sun terrace on the roof with sun loungers.

The hotel is situated up a back street just off the main street. Personally this was a great spot for us, no noise in the evenings. There are several little supermarkets around the hotel and a bank/cashpoint around the corner.

Five minutes stroll from the hotel are a lovely few restaurants including a chinese, but would highly recommend La Terrazza Del Mare which is overlooking the beach and has superb food and drinks (not very cheap but very worth it!). 10-min stroll to the left of the hotel are all the bars and clubs, while 10-min stroll to the right has more for families and those not wanting to go clubbing!

The beach is literally 5-mins from the hotel with lots of cafes and bars across the beach front and a lovely grassy area overlooking the beach - we took a bottle of wine and watched the sunset here one night which was amazing.

We hired a car for three days and ventured out and about to Mount Tide and to explore, plenty to see and we even rode camels. We didn't venture further down to Los Cristianos (which is only a 20-min stroll from hotel) but wished we had as we were later informed that there is a lovely harbour and beautiful castle-type building where you can eat/drink.

All in all, would highly recommend this hotel and area for couples. We only walked up and around the clubby part of the area but didn't venture in, but this looked like lots of fun for the younger crowd (my partner and I are 35 and 36).

Just got back from 2 weeks half board at the Bonanza and the only thing that stopped me giving a 5* rating is that the room was a little date. That said, the room was spotless and we had maid service every day, towels daily and even the odd pots were washed when we'd rinsed them in the sink to come back to later.

Work is underway to spruce up the public areas of the hotel both inside and out. Dining room is a little small for the number of guests so choice tends to be limited. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Might be a little noisy for the light sleeper but this (road noise) dies down after midnight.

Worth asking for a keycard to the electronic locking gate at the rear of the hotel, avoids a lot of the local hills and gives almost direct access to the bus station and taxi rank.

If you decide to travel by bus, but your tickets at the information desk rather than on the bus as this can save around 30 to 40% on some of the longer journeys.

We stayed here for 11 nights in June 2013 after booking a budget holiday. The hotel was basic but clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. We got exactly what we paid for and the location for the beach, shops and bars/restaurants was ideal. The hotel is a little bit dated but for what we paid, we cannot complain. The pool was clean, plenty of sunloungers available, towels changed daily and bedding every other day. Would definitely return to the Bonanza and would certainly recommend them to family and friends who are seeking a cheap and cheerful hotel.

Avoid this hotel! I was there with my friend. We had in our room a lot of bedbugs. And when I woke up in the morning I saw a lot of bites on my Neck and hands. The day after there were much more also on my face and that dots started to itch. We changed the room but we had to throw away our clothes and disinfected luggage. The hotel staff didn't help us. Unfortunatelly another guests were admitted to this room...

Let me start by telling you the positives. The reception staff were fantastic especially Laura and the gentleman with glasses (did not get his name) they were always polite and on hand to answer questions, so thanks so much for that. The hotel was clean and the rooms were also clean, with cleaning taking place every day apart from Weds & Sats. The hotel is an adult only hotel so that was also a bonus. Unfortunately that is where the positive ends.

The hotel could be great but it is tired and really does need work done to it. I was very annoyed when I got to the hotel to find 2 single beds in the room although I had booked a double room, when I asked at reception Laura (who was fantastic and very helpful) explained that all the rooms are like that, not ideal for a couple. The food in the restaurant (we only ever had breakfast) was never hot but always Luke warm there was no jams or spreads which is unusual when they have a continental option.

The other really frustrating thing was that there was only 1 plug socket in the room ( there was one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom) which was not great when we live in such a technical dependant era (cameras, phones, iPads, iPods etc) it made it hard to keep everything charged.

We purchased the wifi from the hotel which was €19 for 1 week. It only allowed 1 person on it at a time so when my partner tried to go on it would kick me out and vice versa which meant we had to take turns, not great when you are paying that much for it.

I booked a pool view and when I arrived I was again annoyed to find it was like a scene from Fawlty Towers if you stretched your neck out you could see the pool at an angle but not the pool view that was advertised.

Hope that helps.

My partner and I stayed at the Bonanza Aparthotel for a week at the begining of October 2013. We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who gave us room 725 which was on the top floor, this room was amazing, it must of been the penthouse, it had all modern facilities including two bathrooms, three toilets, two seperate bedrooms, dinning room and lounge, two tv's, a full size kitchen with everything in it you needed, a washing machine was plummed in outside in a cupboard for you to use. The apartment had its own balcony and its own private area for sunbathing including sun loungers so you didn't have to lay by the pool area with everyone else, which was marvelous. The cleaners came in every day and we also had a change of towels every day. You had views of the sea from the room which was very great. The aparthotel is situated in a quiet area the only disturbance we had was from the refuse collection in the early hours, which couldn't be helped. We used the hotel restaurant once during our stay which was average, there are lots of places to eat out so that was not a problem. We had a lovely holiday and lovely weather, 26-29c all week. The Bonanza couldn't be faulted and was very good value for money.

I stayed here with my boyfriend from the 8th until the 15th June 2013. We stayed in a self catering apartment on the 6th floor which had a lovely view of our hotel pool, palm trees and if you looked far enough, the sea!

The room itself was spot on, first impressions were that it was a little dated but it had pretty much everything we needed. A dining table, 2 single beds pushed together with fresh bedding almost every day, a sofa/extra bed, wardrobe, good clean bathroom with fresh towels each day, kitchen with stove, fridge (which we stocked up with loads of things from Iceland!) and utensils/cutelry. You can also hire the safe if you wish. The balcony was also really nice, slightly private and had a clothes drying rail and patio furniture.

I have very little complaints about the room itself. What did annoy me was that you have to pay to hire the remote and watch TV each day, which was just not worth it when we were in our room so little. Yet I did miss having backround noise from the TV when I was getting ready. The floor was completely tiled so my bare feet were always dirty off it, it was clean to look at but could use a good mop!

The hotel itself was actually quiet, however on a few nights I could hear people next door and in the flat below us partying, which was annoying at like 2am...
The pool was lovely, good to swim in. Sunbeds and umbrellas are free to use, but you do have to pay for a sunbed mattress but we just used our towels.

When we arrived the coach driver dropped us off at the back of the building along a long stretch of road, if this happens to you don't walk all the way around! We were almost going to but noticed people going through a gate after pressing a buzzer so followed them in. Find this gate, press the buzzer, it will save you a trip! We were also met by our coach going home out the back too.

The location was excellent, 10 minutes walk to Siam Park (I suggest booking excursions at one of the many places when you arrive), 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to shops and more restaurants. Taxi's also seem to be very cheap.

We did not try the food at the hotel but there's so many places handing you menus in the street that you won't be stuck for choices.

Overall it was very good value for money, check in and out was easy, came and went as we pleased. I would most definately stay here again. Brilliant Bonanza!

A very clean nice place to go. Great location near a spar shop and a 24/7 minimarket. About 5 min wak to the beach and the lively fornt of americas. Brilliant shopping on the front and if you get a chance go to san euginio bar its brill!!

The staff in the hotel are nice especially the manager (SVEN GORAN ERICCSON LOOK-A-LIKE.) The food was great lots of variation with different meats in sauces. There was always chips for the kids!

The rooms are nice and clean NEVER any COCKROACHES which was good! The pool is nice and is deep enough for a dive. Table tennis and pool were good to play when the heat outside got to much.

Beach volleyball is also good a court with sand in TRY IT.

The only negative i can think of was there was no entertainment at all and the TV is in German or spanish :-(

The other reviews are really unfair and all i can say s don't believe everything.

I would defo go back this is the second time at the hotel and we love it!!!

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from our one week holiday in July at this hotel.
Things good about the hotel
1. Good location
2. Maids came almost every day if not every second day
3. Walking distance from Siam park, restaurants, beach, shops and the nightclub strip.
4. Hotel staff are very friendly
5. Prices of food and drink are reasonable.
Things that aren't so great
1. Pool area is quite small
2. Have to pay extra for things like, wifi, fan or safe.
3. No aircon in rooms
4. Walls are thin so can be a bit noisey
5. No entertainment at night or things to do through the day.
Over all this hotel is good for couples or friends who are looking for a place just to stay.

What's the new trip advisor rating please
Answer from SkyForce6
Orebro, Sweden268 contributions
Hi 890cook! If you mean the new rating for the now refurbished Bonanza that is now known as Oceanview and soon will become a Thomas Cook Sunprime hotel. Then I can not find it! Strangely tripadvizor have not added the new Oceanview to their site. Only rating so far is the ones given by Thomas Cook/Ving customers and so far it has increased from 3.8 to 4.6 out of 5 so I guess the new refurbished one is a success. It is now a 4 star hotel, Bonanza was a 3 star establishment so it must be better! I have been to Bonanza several times and liked it very much and I am going here in a couple of weeks to evaluate the new soon to be Oceanview! If you book a room/apartment at this hotel I recommend a higher floor with a room closer to the pool for less traffic noise coming from the road! Sincerely SkyForce6!

Am I able to get from the bus station with my cases to book in?
Answer from SkyForce6
Orebro, Sweden268 contributions
Hi a_hamer53! I do not know if this answer will be relevant to you anymore since your question was asked over 5 months ago but here it is anyway!. Unfortunately you can not access the hotel directly from the bus station side, That is because there is agate there that requires a card to enter, this card however will be given to you once you check in to the hotel. But when you arrive you have to take your bags all the way around to the other side of the hotel. When you have exited the bus station and have crossed the road juts walk to the left/south and pass the Club Bonanza hotel (that is nowadays actually a refurbished Oceanview hotel) and continue down that road until you have passed the green fence. Then you will see a small downhill pathway, here you can walk to the street that is on the front of the Bonanza hotel. Once there just walk back up until you reach Bonanza (Oceanview). The way to the reception is rather steep tough so be ready for that! The total walking distance with your luggage is going to be about 500 meters (1640 feet). Sincerely SkyForce6!
