Hotel Gala, often celebrated for its impeccable cleanliness and central location, is a hit among travelers seeking proximity to beaches and urban excitement. The rooms, while generally tidy and modern, receive mixed feedback regarding noise and occasional maintenance issues. A lively atmosphere permeates the property, complete with music and entertainment, which garners both praise and concern over the potential for disrupted sleep. While the staff's friendliness is frequently acknowledged, some guests have encountered slow service. Amenities, including varied dining options, are appreciated, although opinions on the entertainment and pool offerings diverge. Moreover, guests have called out the noise level, suggesting that shutting the balcony doors can offer some respite. The hotel's value proposition is debated, as some reviewers find the drink prices fair, but others take issue with additional charges and the quality of included services.

We spend a week in Gala hotel the second week of January. I was a bit sceptical about the bad reviews but the total experience was amazing!
We booked the Alexander room, that comes with a nespresso coffee machine and free pass to the spa.
The room was at the same level with the reception overlooking the pool. Was really convenient as we have a toddler and we could easily walk anywhere with the stroller. The coffee machine comes with three complimentary pots, tea and milk. I bought few more for about 0,50e each.
The fridge costs 25e to use it, comes with 18 items that you choose and it’s not a bad price at all.
The room is super super clean! Thank you amazing ladies for clanging service you do an excellent job!! But is a bit on the small size! There is a big wardrobe and you must put everything inside so you can have a bit space to move around the room. The balcony is good size with a table and a couple of chairs. The rooms temperature is fine and when we asked for extra blankets they offered us a heating fan but we didn’t need it. It was just one day a bit chilly.
The pool was ok, we have to give a deposit of 12e for each towel plus 1,8e if you need a fresh one. The towels are in a really bad shape and need to be replaced ASAP!!! It’s a shame for this hotel and this spa to have towels like these.
The Spa is really good. With sauna dry and wet, four different showers, a jacuzzi and a good size pool. We and our friends had few treatments and massage therapies. The ladies were all very professional and kind. We definitely recommend to spend few euros there!
We had half board. Breakfast and dinner. It was not so much about the quantity but the quality! Every night there was a different theme , Italian, Spanish, Asian, Mexican etc. We all are satisfied about the food options. The quality of the food, the way it was cooked was more like a home made food rather than a hotel’s one.
Big applause for the chef! Thank you for the extra couple of pounds we brought back with us! Lol! We loved all paeya and risotos, the lamp the rabbit, the fish! The calamari! Thank you:)
The entertainment team is a beautiful bunch of people! Every night something different. We enjoyed it! Gabriella from the kids club is so lovely and the kids loved her and asking for her.
The receptionist normal happy smiling people! Always there to help:)
We rent a car from the hotel, all good! No problems:)
The hotel location is the best! In five minutes you are by the sea, and you can walk by the seashore to Playa de la vista, Playa lots Christianos etc
In conclusion I don’t understand how people have one star to this hotel! We could definitely recommend it! And we would love to go back sooner than later:)
Thank you , all the people who work there ,for making our holidays unforgettable:)

Was a bit worried by some of the reviews but could not fault the hotel, on arrival the hotel looked very clean and booking in was quick and easy and reception staff were very friendly, room was great pool/sea view and everything we needed, we were given 3 blankets in the room but my hubby was a bit cold and we asked for more and we're given another 2 with no problem straight away. Room was cleaned everyday with new towels if needed, and plenty of extra bits including shower gel and even a toothbrush and paste and a razor, nice touch the maids were very friendly and very polite . Only thing I found a bit disappointing was only English TV channel was BBC news could do with a couple more for when you are in the room. meals were OK plenty of choices for everyone and lots of freshly cooked meats and fish I didn't find any food cold as others said.
We did not stay for the entertainment but seemed to have plenty for the people that stayed in hotel in the evening. Only fault was only one bar person on sometimes in the evening so a long time to be served.
Plenty of sun beds and seating around the pool and the same saving beds in a morning with a few staying unused till the afternoon but this did not bother us. Spa area is great and very relaxing and nice that it was in the price.
Very good location for the beach and shops and although very near to the Veronica's bars we heard no noise at night.
All in all a very nice clean and friendly hotel and I cannot understand the bad reviews at all

ok after booking a 10 night stay in dec for rather a lot of money was really angry on arrival that the superior room we booked for my husband and i had been allocated to
my son and we were told we had to have the basic double that we had booked for my son. reception staff member was very abrupt with me when i said we would just swap room told me "no" "insurance policy" and told us go look at the double room if we didn't like it we could upgrade for €220.
i tried to explain that this was not correct but was just told to contact my travel agent at home . anyway room was dark out dated and on the noisy road site obviously i wasnt going to take it so had to hand over the extra money after less than 30 mins in hotel. finally got my pool view room which was clean and very modern.just wasn't happy about the extra cost.
so the hotel it self very nice . all areas were clean and well presented.
Christmas decs were nice . but as for Christmas atmosphere this was very flat. very international guests and didnt seem to celebrate Christmas like the britts would .
food well .. . we were half board . a fair choice at breakfast fresh juices and two coffee tea machines cooked breakfast well have had better the sausage were grey in colour and very unappetizing. and the beans were hard and watery .All the jams ,marmalades tasted the same. but plenty of croissants and pastries to choose from which were quite nice.
evening meals were never hot which i know is a thing in spain food was again good choices but all bland and unappetizing. all the cakes looked nice very colourful but bland and just made from the same tasteless cream filling. the special Christmas buffett they put on did not suit our taste lots of fish so we eat out at a near by steak restaurant which was beautiful and very reasonable priced.
pk.now the pools main pool was Baltic and you at all plus it was so deep you couldn't touch the floor which as I'm not a confident swimmer this was abit frightening for me . The second pool was only up to your waist deep very shallow so you couldn't really swimming that either. sunbeds plenty of them plus they had a few nice quiet areas with soft leather seats that you could also sunbathe on.
so that ahonest review of our stay at the gala really thought 10 days away in the sun celebrating Christmas would be really special nope loved the sun but no atmosphere at all not one single staff member wished you merry Christmas and as very few britts in hotel guests didn't either. in fact we had Christmas tops on for breakfast and got some very discerning looks.
so my scores are as follows
hotel cleanliness 10/10
location 10/10
food & service 3/10
pools 4/10
staff friendliness 2/10.
we are a family who love tenerife and visit once a year but won't be rushing back to hotel gala

the location of the hotel was for us fab very close to the shops and bars and restaurants and the beaches.

so food id give a 4 out of 10.

Dear client, Thank you for your comments. We take note of your opinion. Thank you very much for your good words toward the hotel areas, location, and cleanliness. We are glad to hear that you also liked our Christmas decoration ... we always try to make all the clients live Christmas to the fullest, most of the time we think we get it, but sometimes maybe not so much. Each person is different as you know. Please, let us giving you our point of view about some of the things you mentioned: We can not understand exactly what was the problem about the room, because we always, it can't be otherwise, provide to the clients the room type booked. If the Receptionist offered you an extra cost for a Superior Room, it was becuase your reservation was for a Standard Room. If this things happen, the procedure is to contact the travel agency with which you booked the room, in order to clarify the situation. We do apologize if we did not explain you this procedure in the friendliest way possible. Sorry about that. About the food, we are glad to hear that you like it in general, and you can be sure that we will take note of your comments about it, in order to improve. We regret to read that our Christmas buffet did not convince you. We worked hard on this, and if you were looking for meat, you had many dishes to choose: lamb chops, veal with bao bread, roasted turkey, stuffed poularde, roasted veal, stewed rabbit, chicken tears, guinea fowl delight, roasted loin, stuffed chicken, ham, sausages, beef tenderloin, mini canary pork burgers, quail lollipops, roasted leg of lamb.....etc. And these are only some of the meat dishes we had on our Christmas buffet. About the pools, for adults we have 2 external pools: the deeper (not heated at the moment), and the least deep (heated). Children pool are heated too, and of course the SPA pool, too. One more time, thank you for sharing your opinion. Even if it is not as good as we would like, it is important to respect all the opinions, and try to learn from them to be better. Best regards, Hotel Gala

We are sharing our staying experience at this hotel with honesty and without exaggeration. We stayed a week in mid December 22 on half board. The checking was problematic with Laura attitude and overcharging for services that was never delivered. The fridge appear to a problem, as this hotel is after squeezing the maximum money from the quests. It took them from 6 pm to 10:30pm to sole this problem, that I needed due to medication that required refrigeration.
Everything at this hotel is done to budget, from food, drinks and entertainment. Foer example small bottle of water at dinner is 2.5 Euro, yet the 10 litre across the road is 1.5 euro.
The staff at the restaurant can speak English but choses to speak Spanish, particularly those with burgundy shirts that add to stress of communication.
The room cleaning is a 10 minute job with no bedding change, no signs for no disturb on the door or to request change of towels and bedding. There was marks on towels and bed over throw that remained there all week. The floor is swept lightly. This is not what we expect from 4 stars hotel and indeed there are 3 stars hotels in the area that are cleaner within their room service.
This hotel is not cheap, yet the food at the hotel is just warm and needed to be heated in the microwave, including the hot water from the dispensing machine if you wanted your tea hot. All food ingredients are cheap to cut cost.
There is pressure on loungers as the hotel has a shade in the morning with only on half of the pool getting the sun, you have to be up early to reserve.
During the world cup matched there were only 2 TVs on the wall next to each other that get congested. all commentary in Spanish, despite the high volume of English speaking guests. Also, it is normal to see a que at the 2 bars. I would not recommend the AI board as it is grossly overvalued.
The position of hotel is very good with a short cut to the beach available to 8pm. You can reach both Los Cristiano's and Costa Adeje easily.
The area is blessed with warm weather that make it a perfect winter location, as such the resort was busy during our stay.
The staff at this hotel need training to show respect and patience towards guests, particularly the English speaking. I experience a racial incident with member of the restaurant supervising staff that called Africans names to the effect of slaves, and of course I had to respond to him with anger to stop him in his track. This should not happen in this day and age and shows the hotel management poor recruitment & training.
We visit this area multiple times each year with no incidents, as such we will never stay or recommend this hotel ever again.

We have read your words carefully, and we thank you for detailing the things that you liked the least, because knowing all the opinions helps us to improve. Thank you. Although we fully respect your point of view, despite not sharing many of the things you have mentioned, we will only make two brief points: we assure you that our cleaning staff work very hard every day, and in this hotel there is no kind of discrimination, nor for reasons of nationality, gender, or religion. In any case, once again we apologize for not having been able to meet your expectations. We assure you that we will continue working to improve. Thank you very much for your visit and for your review. Sincerely, Hotel Gala

Recently stayed here for an all inclusive week.

Hotel was fine & staff were fine. Very good position in resort just up from Veronicas across from Linekars. Sunbeds were cleaned every morning & every 2 beds were together within a taped zone to keep socially distanced. Daytime entertainment was ok but due to covid not as much as you’d expect & they weren’t hassling people to take part (obviously to keep numbers down). Night time entertainment was the normal hotel stuff - dancers magician etc etc.

Now for the not so good bit. Rooms were spotless but half of them are at the back of the hotel with no sun. Queues at the bars (both pool bar & evening bar) were very long due to not enough staff manning them. The food at the pool bar was a hit & a miss. My food was always hot & cooked but there were a lot complaining about it being warm at best & undercooked. The staff in the restaurant were fine. Every other table was marked red so that everyone is socially distanced. Table service for drinks at lunch & evening. Go for breakfast at busier times & the food will be fresh. At lunch go earlier as this is when its at its freshest. We went at different times at dinner and it was always fresh. However there isnt much choice and all very samey but we always got something

Hotel is definitely a 3 star at best but we still did enjoy our stay.

Very little open in resort so dont expect it to be party central!

Went as a family of 19, July 22-1aug 2023
The hotel to look at was beautiful, rooms average but works, hair drier in bathroom powerful showers, and a small fridge. the pools were good, kids pool with a few slides and 2 bigger pools one you could touch the floor the other you can’t.
When we checked in it was very quick & easy as we didn’t arrive till 11 o’clock on the night. We were told a 20 minute transfer it took a hour! The hotel is massive lots of photo opportunities to have with the family a hot tub by the pools free to use.
We chose this location for the night life for the younger members of the group so 5 minutes from the strip, you couldn’t hear any of it in your room which was good.
Now for the bad part!
The breakfast was awful cold most day you had to wait around for bread, knifes/forks, glasses for Juice, cups for coffee & tables to be cleaned. The lunch & evening food was better but once again waiting around for cutlery or a clean table. Also on the afternoon & evening you couldn't help yourself to drinks you had to wait for the waiting staff to come over to your table & order them 9x out of 10 we went without drinks either because we had finished our food before being seen or they came just as we finished. You also have to have your room card on you at all times to get drinks.
The evening entertainment was ok some really good. But for the children’s entertainment it was on too late & only for 10 minutes. No music around the pool in the day time. No air con in the
The restaurant or play rooms so very hot.
One party with us did have a problem with cockroaches in their room & was just given some bug spray…which brings me on to the staff!!!! All staff were very RUDE I have never been to a hotel with staff like it! A glass got knocked off a table when we went to the bar to ask for it to be cleaned the bar lady rolled her eyes and handed us a paper towel to clean it ourselves, the queueing
Was horrendous you would be stood at the bar for around 10 minutes before being served & the Spanish would be served first then the staff would chat away before coming to you. No smiles & understaffed the whole time. The best member of staff we met was Luca A rep he was friendly & always came over to speak to us. So that’s just 1 member staff who was great!
The whole time we were there there was building work going on from around 9AM by the pool drilling & hammering for hours! If they had put music on wouldn’t have minded but after the amount we paid you don’t expect to have to listen to building work going on.
To sum it up the worse hotel for experience we have been to,

Dear clients, Thank you very much for your visit, and also for sharing your point of view and experience in such a detailed way. We value your time. Thank you so much for your good comments about the hotel and our services. Sincere thanks. We fully respect your comments, and we will not go into your review point by point for this reason, but please allow us to make only a brief point: There is music around the pool, and there is air conditioning in the restaurant. Perhaps your perception was due to the heat wave that we have had in Tenerife, or perhaps you were at a certain moment in the pool when there was no music, but both are available in our hotel. We regret not having met your expectations, we will check everything necessary to offer the best service in all aspects. Thanks a lot for your opinion, it will help us to continue improving. We hope that you can give us a new opportunity in the future, we are convinced that we can reverse your point of view, and ensure that you will enjoy your next stay at our hotel to the fullest. Thank you very much again for choosing us, and for sharing your opinion. Kind regards, Hotel Gala

This is not anything like a 4 star hotel more 2--3 star at best. So dissapointed with this hotel, good points first: Decent size room nice and clean, card system rather than a code for the room safe, room fridge, no loud music round the pool and that’s it. Bad points where do I begin? The food I could wright a full essay on how bad it was it’s just slop I honestly wouldn’t feed it to our dog, there’s little choice, the bacon and sausage is not real just processed rubbish, some meats I couldn’t tell what they were they tasted of nothing, the fresh orange juice is so watered down it’s like slightly flavoured water, you had to search or ask for salt & pepper which came in little packets not what you expect for a 4 star. We were recommended to put our sunbed towels out early so went for 7am but nothing available so tried 6am, 5am, 4am the same, eventually put towels straight out when I came back after a night out. Our room faced the pool but could still hear the irish bar the other side of the hotel till 2am and still hear the bars on Veronicas strip till 5am. Staff not rude but not friendly either was as if they were just going through the motions of doing their job, some of the reception staff could be a bit impatient and unfriendly though, in fairness all staff wore masks so difficult to know if they were smiling or not but their eye contact was sometimes a give away. This was a last min trip due to the relaxed government guidelines but will never visit this hotel again. BTW all the covid red tape is a nightmare make sure you have done your homework and are well prepared with all information beforehand, speak to someone who has already recently been abroad for tips. Our day 2 testing kit for return we never got a confirmation email with the codes (we had no idea we needed them for the return form) so had to ring the company from Tenerife, had to que for 40 min then got cut off, this happened 3 times.

Dear clients, First of all, thank you for choosing us, and for sharing your experience. Thank you also for your positive comments towards our hotel and its services. Regarding all the negative aspects in your opinion, that you have mentioned, please allow us to tell you something: We love to know the opinion of our clients, also the less good opinions, because it helps us to check everything that we need to improve or change, always seeking the satisfaction of our clients. But your review, in our opinion, is not constructive. Many of your words or expressions, which we will not write again for politeness, are a lack of respect for our hotel and our staff, who strive, work, and give the best of themselves every day. We can do some things wrong, of course. We will have to improve some aspects, of course. But from there to what you have said ... there is a very great distance. Anyway, once again, sincere thanks for visiting our hotel, and you can be sure, that we will search among all your comments, those things that we should improve. Kind regards, Hotel Gala

If Gordon Ramsay ever visits this hotel, I can almost guarantee it will be the catalyst for a reboot of his reality TV show “Hotel Hell”. Although I personally believe that el diablo himself would provide a better service than the staff in this hotel. Due to the complete lack of air conditioning, I also think hell would be a lot cooler and would visit there before returning to Hotel Gala.

I’ll begin with the worst aspect of the hotel and then try to end on a somewhat positive note for those who have already booked and cannot cancel. I have stayed in a number of all inclusive hotels and most of the staff within them cannot do enough for you. In this hotel, they seem to do the opposite. The snack bar by the pool is effectively pointless as you’re waiting to be served for at least 20-30 minutes. It would quite literally be quicker to walk to the beach, gather some sea water and filter it into drinking water yourself. If you don’t want to wait at the snack bar for half of your holiday, you do have the option to eat in the dining room for lunch/dinner. During my stay I did wonder where the volcanoes of Tenerife are actually situated but after that holiday, I’m fairly certain they’re directly below the dining room. If you’re reading this review from your house on the Sun then you should be fine but for anyone else who lives on Earth like I do, good luck. To make your experience slightly less miserable, I recommend going to the supermarket over the road and buying some drinks from there before dinner because by the time you’ve been served drinks in the dining room, you’ll have finished your starter, main and dessert (with room for a second and possibly even third dessert).

So by now you’re probably thinking “this sounds awful” and you’re right, it is. But don’t worry because the joyful and friendly staff will make up for this… on your next holiday in a different hotel. I think the staff in this hotel may have actually received training in how to treat guests poorly so I’m not sure I can blame them completely. I understand that people in the service industry have struggled over the past couple of years but the staff in this hotel were just unnecessarily rude at times. For those of you non-Spanish speakers who do visit, I took the liberty of finding this phrase for you… “Animo!” which roughly translates to “Cheer up!”. I do have to say that there is a chef in the dining room who wears glasses and is always very friendly and a welcome addition to his otherwise miserable colleagues (maybe he should lead the guest relations training?).

Just to note, this is the first trip advisor review I have ever left but deemed it necessary for this particular hotel.

I would never visit again, even if somebody paid me to.

Dear clients, First of all, we want to thank you for choosing us, and also for sharing your experience. We absolutely respect your personal opinion, despite not agreeing with your expressions towards our hotel and our staff. There are certain words that are out of place, from our point of view. You can express that you don't like something in another way, because there are people who are striving to do their job as well as possible, although unfortunately they have not met your expectations. We regret not having been able to offer you a satisfactory stay, and we sincerely apologize for this. We must briefly comment 2 aspects: We have air conditioning throughout our hotel, throughout the day. We are sorry if the heat wave that we are currently experiencing on the island (and in Spain in general), means that your feeling is not as cold as you would like. We currently have 2 bars open at the same time, the one by the pool that you mentioned, and the one inside. If there is a queue at a certain time in one of them, we have another bar as an alternative to order drinks. Once again we thank you for your visit, and we insist that we respect and take your opinion very seriously, because it will help us improve. Thank you very much and best regards, Hotel Gala

Hotel nice and clean, just visited with family of 4 on all inclusive package. The location is excellent lots of bars and restaurants near by which is needed as the food and drink is terrible. We only used the hotel restaurants and drinks on the first day then ate out every day because the food and drinks where so bad. First of all there are not enough sun loungers for the guest, if you don’t get up at 6am then you can’t get one! We arrived at 8am on our first morning and every lounger had been reserved with towels, i’ve never seen anything like it. You need to take your own pool towels too which is a new thing for us never had to do that before. The all inclusive drinks are terrible, cocktails are limited and from a pre mixed vending machine, low/poor quality alcohol and ingredients, non branded and most are not included such as Aperol spritz. The pool bar is only staffed by one attendant and wait is normally 20-40 minutes for a drink. We chose to eat out every day even though we paid for all inclusive. After an evening meal and drinks we headed back to the hotel for the evening shows. We saw three excellent shows but dreaded going back for awful drinks and cocktails. Location is great, short walk to beach, Siam mall, Siam water park, restaurants and bars. Would like to go back to the same location but stay at hotel with bigger pool area and better food and drinks.

Dear clients, First of all, thank you very much for choosing our hotel, and for sharing your experience. We also thank you for your good comments about our hotel, our cleanliness, our location, and our shows. We absolutely respect your opinion, and take note of it, to check all the aspects that need to be improved or changed, always thinking about the satisfaction of our clients, and offering them the best service. Thank you. Please allow us to make a few notes: We try always to offer the best and most varied food. Our menus are well thought out, and we strive in this matter. We regret not having met your expectations. Regarding the all-inclusive drinks, we offer top brands such Tanqueray, Cutty Sark, White Label, Smirnoff, Moskovskaya, Havana 3, Fernet, Tío Pepe, Brandy 103, Coca-Cola, Amstel beer ... etc. At the pool bar there are up to three waiters depending on the day. You may have seen one, and you may also have seen two. We try to have waiters according to the needs of our clients. We regret that you have seen some queue at some time of the day, because it is not the usual thing for a whole day. Regarding sun loungers, we have a large number of them. Luckily, our pool and solarium area is very large and can fit many. We are sorry if there are some clients who put their towels out early in the morning. We always try to say please don't do this. Finally, and regarding towels, the hotel has pool towels, with a deposit, and a symbolic cost only for environmental reasons. It is one of our commitments. Thank you very much once again for visiting us, and for sharing your experience. We assure you that we will keep your opinion in mind. Kind regards, Hotel Gala

Stayed with family on the 6th of March for one week all inclusive. Hotel is in a good spot with access to local bars, shops and beaches, and a manageable walk to Siam mall. Very good look and feel to the communal areas with plenty of comfortable seating around the bar and in quieter areas near the reception. Room was a decent standard and ours had a large patio area. Restaurant was clean with plenty of seating and food was standard for this type of hotel. Pool area was great, loads of sun loungers and comfortable seating. One larger pool and a smaller heated one. The staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly, and in relation to the gathering Corona crisis, they remained professional throughout, keeping areas clean and providing information. The animation team kept folk entertained day and night. Good all inclusive drinks program including some premium branded spirits. The only fault with staying at the Gala is the surrounding area, as a lot of the rooms face the famous Veronicas strip, you can hear the music from the clubs until 4 am, not ideal if you want a decent night sleep. Having said that, it wouldn't put us off staying there again, I'd probably just ask for a pool facing room. Generally very good value.
