Just returned from a week at Gran Canaria Princess. Where to start well the hotel was clean, rooms cleaned every day and towels changed as required Location of hotel nearly perfect, far enough out to matter and taxis literally less than three euros to the beach or Yumbo Centre Pool area/sunbeds - if you wanted the sun all day be prepared to get your towel on an uncomfortable sunbed between 7am & 8 am or you will be in the shade for up to 3 hours each day. One pool heated and the other was colder than tap water Lifts - three lifts at peak times were horrendous to catch and we even used the cleaners lift Bed - very uncomfotable and on the small side Free room safe which was a bonus Mini bar in room - dont be fooled its not stocked with anything Reception staff - very helpful when we required them Food - very repetitive and luke warm .....and thats being polite Entertainment - as to be expected Yumbo Centre is an experience not to be missed As the title says 'Ok but could be better' and minor changes would turn this hotel from average to good if not even very good Been spoiled by other four star hotels

This is a lovely hotel which has beautiful rooms and great facilities. Sadly, we were let down by the food on offer here and wish room only had been an option. The breakfast is plentiful but cold which is the biggest disappointment. The other issue was the chaotic experience of using the dining room which is not big enough to cater for the whole hotel guest population at once. Trying to find a clean table is very difficult and can mean waiting 10-15 mins for one to become free and then be cleared. The evening meal is worst. Together with the chaos, trying to put together a meal choice is very hard. The food tended to be predominantly fish based and catered for Spanish and Scandinavian tastes. Not eating fish. It was difficult to find a meal choice. The other big problem with the evening meal is, if you are NOT all inclusive there are NO DRINKS on offer to you, not even water!! If you need a drink it has to be ordered and paid for. This was not explained clearly, and we nearly left without paying on the first evening.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your opinions, we ll try to learn from them. The maitre at the entrance of the restaurant can organize a hotter dish for you if you find it not hot enough, find something different if you miss something, find a clean table, explaining how the payment works, etc... We re sorry for the misunderstandings and the troubles you may have found, we apologize for everything. Kind regards. Agustín Miranda. Public Relations.

Maybe I am spoiled but this hotel did no reach my expectations. Rooms are clean but balcony view at waistlot and airco’s which make a lot of noise. Positive is a waterboiler and coffee and tea in the room. Breakfast is ok, dinner is not ok. All the food that has to be warm is cold and the cold dishes and also in the morning the milk, is warm. Althouhg we paid for halfboard we decided to go out for dinner. Can’t say staff was very friendly, they were just doing their jobs. Ik Wifi was very poor. For a large hotel like this there should bevmore elevators. Always waiting very long. Also we experienced a lot of noise not only from guests next to us but also de housekeepers talking very loud to eachother while we were still in bed.

Dear Mrs. Elly, Thank you for sending us your opinions. Reception could find you another room if you wanted to change, the maitre at the door of the restaurant could get you hotter food if you wanted it hoter, anyway we ll check the temperature to see if anything is wrong, the capacity of the lifts have been reduced due to covid regulation and we send your comment about the cleaners to the Governess to try to avoid any noise in the corridors. We re very sorry that your experience with us wasn t what you expected, we ll work harder to give a better service. Kind regards. Agustín Miranda. Public Relations.

Chose this hotel for winter pride week, on my first trip to Gran Canaria. It’s fine, but I’d stay elsewhere if I returned. The hotel backs onto a busy road, so the pool area has road noise which makes it less relaxing. The pool area is really nice, with lots of greenery and ample seating. Other noise irritations for our room on the west side were the air conditioning plant and waste compactor for the hotel next door, and coaches reversing or idling in the car park. We had to keep the window shut, and didn’t really use the balcony as a result. Get a room on the east side if you do stay here. A big draw of the hotel was the wellness area, but that was significant disappointment. The steam room was out of order, the sauna wasn’t properly hot (60 degrees), and the four hot tubs were all tepid so no fun to sit in. I complained about that and was told they were at 36c, but I’m fairly sure they were not. It also shuts at 6, which is a little early to my mind. The gym was also disappointing, limited weights (14kg heaviest) and no matts for stretching. The rooms were large and comfortable, and the staff friendly. I was expecting the hotel to be quite sociable with the winter pride crowd, but the layout doesn’t lend itself to that. A nice thing to do would be for the hotel to have a winter pride welcome party to encourage that. If they put a fountain by the pool to drown out the road noise and fixed the wellness area up, it could be a good hotel. More generally, now I’ve been to the town, the best places to stay are nearer the beach or overlooking the dunes. Checkout the Gold hotel or Santa Monica.

Dear Mr. James, Thank you for your comments and ideas, we ll try to learn from them. We check the temperatures of the saunas and pools everyday, but maybe during the day a guest leave the door of the sauna not well closed, or something like that, we ll try to avoid these things to happen. We pass all your ideas to the Director to see if we can apply them. We apologize for all the inconviniences during your holidays. Kind regards. Agustín Miranda. Public Relations.

We stayed here October 2021 during half term as I work in a school. Stayed here for our 30tth wedding anniversary. On arrival all seemed good managed to use the lift. Three lifts in total 2 to a lift unless a family , which is great. Our view from the room was a carpark and opposite hotel. Floor markings on floor which nobody followed. Majority of guests wore face masks but staff had to remind guests regularly they needed to wear one. Throughout our stay only managed to use the lifts twice had to use the stairs only problem here was you had other guests pushing past you on the stairs constantly the stairs are not that wide in all fairness. In the dining area the good selection was repetitive, one morning I decided to treat myself to a cooked breakfast which was cold so I didn’t eat that. On a few occasions evening meal was cold snd when asked by a waitress was good no good. I said it was cold snd not hot as it should be she laughed. Self service poolside bar pretty good. Bar inside in evening some nights there could be 30 odd people wait infront of you to be served. Some days people would move your subbed to position there own and at times crammed in. Sun beds far too close to each other

Dear Guest, Thank you for sending us your comments, we ll do our best to improve the points you have told us. Lifts have seen reduced their capacity due to the covid rules, reception could have looked for another available room that could be more of your taste. We ll check the temperature of the food with the Chef, normally it should be hot, but if you want it even hotter we can warm up a dish for you with no problem, just contact the maitre at the entrance of the restaurant. We re sorry that your experience with us was not as good as you expected, and we want to apologize for any inconvinience you found. Kind regards. Agustín Miranda. Public Relations.
