The Seaside Sandy Beach hotel offers a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that includes a well-liked range of entertainment, though some areas may feel a bit crowded and service can be hit or miss. Guests are often impressed with the friendly and professional staff, and the hotel's cleanliness is regularly commended, from the pristine rooms to the well-kept pool areas. While some guests find the hotel to be a good value, others believe the pricing doesn't always match expectations. The rooms are spacious and traditionally charming, but there are occasional remarks about outdated decor. Amenities like the clean pools and diverse dining options are popular, though peak times may see overcrowding. The location is a highlight for many, just a short walk from the beach and Yumbo, providing easy access to local attractions.

Check in - excellent

Room - 608 view of pool, spotlessly clean, kettle and toiletries supplied, you can order tea coffee milk. Complementary water, fruit and a small wine in the room on arrival. Lovely white towels, bathrobes and slippers in the superior rooms.

You are given a ticket to take to pool for towels they’re nice and big for the sun beds.
Also given tickets for the wellness centre, we didn’t go in but will next time.

Food, amazing lots of choice and always piping hot.
Drinks are mostly branded so lovely to enjoy an all inclusive drink that tastes as it should.

The hotel is spotless everywhere you go and so peaceful. We had the best holiday and very relaxing.

The staff- always very helpful and everything serviced with a smile, they do a fantastic job in all departments.

I can highly recommend this hotel and hope to go back soon.

First time at this hotel and due to the cost (I got a bit of a bargain as I booked in February during Covid times) I wasn't expecting this hotel to be as amazing as it was for the price I actually paid for it. In the past I have paid alot more for hotels nowhere near as good as this hotel.

I will list the positives:

Very friendly and helpful staff who go above and beyond to look after all guests.
Perfect location for short walk to beach/ Yumbo and Cita Centre
The food and drinks included in the all inclusive package were exceptional (medium rare fillet beef on a buffet and several carvery meats every night!)
No hustling and bustling for sunbeds or seats around hotel
We were given use of a room free of charge due to our very late checkout (most hotels charge!)
Lovely roof top terraces with private hot tubs to hire which were worth every penny (60 euros).

Now I will list the hotel negatives:

NONE WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!!
Lots of other guest agreed with us that they could not fault one single thing about this lovely hotel.
11/10 for Seaside Sandy Beach!!!!!!

Check in - excellent

We booked a junior suite paid an extra £473 for this and we were allocated room 602. The only difference between a junior suite and any other room is a bit more space and end room looking down to sea, an apple, orange and kiwi and a bottle of sparkling wine definitely not worth the extra money.

The room was clean, but I did spot the occasional ant in the bathroom, thought nothing of it untill the Tuesday morning when I had to speak to reception as there was a lot a lot of them.
I was offered to move rooms but we had unpacked and settled in. Reception did send someone up immediately who sprayed then said someone else would be back to clean the bathroom which was done while we were at breakfast so problem was resolved within 2 hrs.

I also asked if the chairs on the balcony could be changed for the more relaxed chairs which was done.

The food is really good here, plenty of choice.

No need to dash for sunbeds as there are a lot of them and you cannot reserve them until after 8.45

The staff are good except for 1 guy at the pool bar (Felido I think his name was) I asked for a Pina colada he looked annoyed, threw ice into paper cup a bit white rum and pineapple juice then slammed it on the bar. It was vile so I didn’t drink it and obviously wasn’t made correctly. Seemed if you were all inclusive that’s what you got as I witnessed other people getting cocktails correctly made who were paying for drinks.
The rest of my holiday i stuck to water or martini rosso and lemonade as that wasn’t too much trouble.

This was our first holiday after Covid didn’t mind paying the extra for a suite as it was our wedding anniversary and thought we were going to get something special for £2663. How wrong can you be.

This used to be a brilliant hotel it was the last one we stayed at in March 2020 the day Gran Canaria locked down, and we have stayed many times before that.

I hope my experience this time is a one off, although I am very reluctant to book again as the service doesn’t match the price.

Good points - they print locator forms for you.
We were allowed to keep our room untill 14.45 at no extra charge.

Not sure I would book here again for maybe another year by then they might have got their act together after Covid.

Dear Elaine, Thank you for leaving your review referring your recent stay. Anything less than perfect calls for improvement on our part and we appreciate you taking a moment to notify us of the areas you felt could use some refinement. Nonetheless, I wish to thank you for highlighting those aspects you did enjoy, such as our food and caring staff. I very much regret that you felt disappointed with the Junior Suite. As you said, it is more spacious than our double rooms and apart from the attentions upon arrival it also provides an espresso machine. I am glad though, that you appreciated the change from the balcony chairs to sun loungers. I would like to apologize also for the appearance of insects in your suite. Thank you for making us aware of it so that our team could solve this right away. Further, I am sorry that you felt that in one occasion your piña colada wasn’t prepared and served satisfactorily. I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Our pool bar team usually receives very positive feedback; however, I would like to assure you that I take all guest feedback into serious consideration and will review your comments with my team in our next meeting. Again, I would like to thank you for your loyalty as regular guests of our hotel. We do hope you could give us another opportunity in the future to restore your faith in our hotel. We stayed in this hotel in November 2019 and can honestly say the first couple of days were the worst nights we have spent in a hotel in Europe.

We booked a standard room. If you go to their website and click “Standard” under the “Rooms” tab the rooms that are described are (mostly) not “a standard room”. This was the trap we fell into. When we arrived we were dragged down to the dungeon level along a corridor that stank of chlorine and a room that stank of chlorine and damp – not ideal for me as I had a chest problems after an infection. As the room was basically under the swimming pool this was inevitable.

We went to reception to see if there were any alternatives – two other rooms that smelt of damp and chlorine were offered – apparently there were no other rooms at all available. To add insult to injury one of these room’s balcony overlooked a car rental agency’s car park: a bonus feature shared by most of the (sub)-standard rooms but strangely unmentioned in the hotel’s literature – they call it a “limited street view”. To add to the room’s charms the street was cobbled (meaning lots and lots of traffic noise at all hours), and as the street had bad air quality because of the traffic, then using the terrace was simply stupid unless you are both deaf and had no sense of smell.

What was particularly annoying was the receptionist who accompanied us on this tour of deficiency was adamant (to the point of farce) that there were no smells at all.

A couple of days later we finally managed to get moved to a higher floor. This took a high level of assertiveness in the hotel lobby. We had only stayed because we were promised a room on a high floor (above six). They tried to renege on the arrangement and fob us off on the third floor (at pool level – more chlorine) despite paying a 30€ per day surcharge for a room that wasn’t horrible.

Once we actually got to the room we thought we’d booked the hotel increased to very average The hotel can charitably be described as cramped – the room was rather small, the pool is very small for the size of facility, the bar is small, the sundecks are very densely packed as were the dining areas. Cleanliness was very good, and all the staff except those on reception were good. The reception staff that we met were all distinctly unhelpful – surly and patronising.

Apart from the reception our biggest gripe was probably the smokers who were everywhere, but specifically at breakfast if you wanted to eat outdoors. The breakfasts themselves were pretty good. Apart from the use of the sundecks (which were remarkably quite for an allegedly full hotel) we didn't use any other facilities.

There is no chance we’d go back (which is annoying as Freemotion cycle hire/tours are based there, and as I like cycling it would have been very convenient).

To anyone thinking of going do not book the standard room – you will regret it.

The rating is one - if we'd been in our fourth (!) room option from the start it'd probably be a three, but the complete disinterest verging on hostility from the reception makes a one inevitable.

Dear Paul, Thank you for posting a review on Tripadvisor referring your stay in November 2019. We are sorry that we were not able to exceed your expectation and wish to assure you that all of your comments have been noted and will be discussed with the corresponding departments. Thank you for mentioning those aspects you did like, such as the cleanliness of our facilities and the breakfast buffet. I regret that the room you booked was not to your satisfaction; we did our best to provide you with another room that met your preferences. However, given the lack of availability during those days, we could not offer you a room on a higher floor until a couple of days later. As described on our website, our double standard rooms are located between the 1st and 2nd floor and have limited or street views. Please accept my most sincere apologies for any disruptiveness and downfalls in service that you have experienced with us. Our personnel usually receives very good feedback; however, I would like to assure you that I take all guest feedback into serious consideration and will review your comments with my team in our next meeting. According to Spanish law smoking is permitted in outdoor areas. By having non-smoking and smoking areas on our outside terrace we strive to offer the best solution for all parties. We would like to apologize for any inconveniences caused. Once again, we hope you accept our apologies for not having met your expectations. We are very disappointed, as it is our biggest aim to serve all our guests with a wonderful experience. Kind regards, Ursula Matas, General Manager Seaside Sandy Beach****

I cannot fault this hotel. The hotel, the grounds and the pool were spotless. The rooms were cleaned and set each day as if there was a new guest staying. My room was spacious with a large ensuite, a seperate room to store luggage. High ceilings with good AC and well furnished. Also a private balcony. I took half board. If you get down early enough, there was an incredible range of food and dishes some local others from around the world. Definitely you would find something to satisfy you and it changed every day. Breakfast was the same. Most importantly the food was incredibly fresh and prepared from high quality ingredients. Aside from all of that, the local staff working there were incredibly nice and friendly. Not at all put out by any requests and were extremely accommodating and helpful. A lady named Ursula and a receptionist named San Diego helped us out greatly. The design of the hotel appears open and airy but it is well secured. I loved just after an early breakfast, exiting a side door out onto the road which was minutes by foot down to the strand. Central to everywhwre but feels private. Loved it and will be back again.

We have been coming to this hotel for the past 4 years and I’ve been here at least 9 times. I’ve never been one to go back to the same place twice but this place just has everything that we want, the food is outstanding the staff are just so friendly it’s very very close to the beach and amenities. You don’t have to book tables they serve to 10:15 at night it’s such a relaxed atmosphere and superclean felt very safe during Covid. We have just got back from another two week holiday and we cannot wait to book again very soon👍🏻❤️

Just back from a two week stay with my husband at Sandy beach in Maspalomas.
Upon arrival we were greeted with pleasant welcoming staff and given our room cards. A very kind member of staff took our large heavy suitcases to our room for us which was nice after the journey. Our room was 818 on floor 8 which was very spacious and clean with a fantastic view from our balcony an absolute sun trap. Our room was cleaned daily with beds made everyday and towel changes by housekeeping which was fantastic. We were provided with robes and slippers in our room which was a nice touch including complimentary water and wine. We spent some evenings in the bar which was nice and enjoyed the evening entertainment. The soul singer by the pool bar was particularly my favourite. The pool was moderately warm with good depth and surrounded nicely by very comfortable sun loungers. The power shower in our room was amazing after spending lots of time in the water. This hotel is a very central location with just a few minutes walk to nearby bars, shops and restaurants including supermarkets just minutes away. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandy beach and could have easily stayed another two weeks. Hope housekeeping seen the funny side to our little practical joke as a leaving present and we haven’t offended anyone as no husbands were harmed in the making of the photo lol Thank you again to all at Sandy beach for a lovely stay.

Loved everything about this hotel. The staff deserve a special mention. I didn't get everyone's name but Santiago on reception was the first person we spoke to and he was very friendly and welcoming. All of the staff need a mention from those in the restaurant and bars to the lifeguards who work tirelessly at the pool helping with sunbeds and Patrick for keeping us all entertained with the daily activities. We were on an all inclusive deal and I was sceptical having only been on one AI before. I needed not worry. The food was amazing. Breakfast was fantastic. So much choice. I always say you can tell a good hotel from its breakfast. Smoked salmon and fizz has to be a good start to the day! The freshly cooked omelettes were just amazing. Lunch was equally as impressive, so much choice. Dinner options were even better and each evening they would have cuisine from a different Country so no two nights were the same! We particularly liked that you did not have to wear a wrist band and to get drinks from the bar you just had to present your room card. No plastic cups here. Drinks were served in glasses (cups around the pool) and full bottles of your chosen wine on your table at dinner. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the beach front if you can drag yourself away from the amazing pool. Rooms are spacious and we had an amazing room (2 rooms actually as travelling as a family) on the 7th floor overlooking the pool. Just beautiful! We were sad to leave but so pleased we had the pleasure to stay here and now we know how good it is we will be back!!! Thank you Seaside Sandy Beach you were amazing. Hasta luego.

What a lovely hotel to stay at, we just returned from a week there and had a superb holiday thanks to the wonderful, friendly staff & superb service.

Hotel: Built in 1986, it’s beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and a pretty hotel especially the pool area and restaurant. When we were there it was mainly German tourists but they were super friendly, no drunken rowdy brits and only a couple of children, I’d say a classy clientele but not too formal or stuffy. It’s a very relaxing place, no pumping dance music by the pool or intrusive animation teams. There are things to do if you wish though.

Pool: Really lovely, smaller than the brochure pictures make it look. Sun loungers are really comfortable and all perfectly maintained, plenty of them too and there was no need to rush out early to make sure you get one, even at 11am it was fine.

Room: We were in a standard room on the lowest level by the pool, room was spacious, beds super comfy and good bathroom, plenty of storage for clothes etc.

Food: The selection of food was really good & different every day, there were plenty of choices to suit everyone & high quality food with even things like smoked salmon at breakfast, fresh prawns at lunch and steak cooked to order in the evening. Really wonderful & great service.

Drinks: All inclusive was all branded top quality alcohol & cocktails not cheap vile stuff you get at some hotels. Outdoor pool bar really nice with patio heaters & jolly bar staff who work really hard but are lovely & friendly.

Entertainment: Not usually ones to go to the shows but the evening lounge was just off the restaurant and so it was natural to wander in there or just watch from the table. We ended up going every single evening and loved it!! Always lots of couples up dancing to popular music (average age was probably 40-80) and great shows such as Spanish dancing, a Michael Jackson dance act with gymnasts, an illusion/magic show, an incredible gymnastics show, a Brazilian dance show, music quiz & lots of different duos - really impressed.

Well I will start from beginning got into hotel at 9.30 pm so bare in mind we never used an all inclusive allowances the first DAY at all got into the room that what we thaught was a junior suite but was miss sold as it stated minibar but no minibar be careful when you read this
Sunbed situation was ok you have to start to queue at 7.45 in order to get we’re you want they give you the ok at about 8.45 then the dash starts lol
Poolside bar is a joke most days only 1 person serving normally got an attitude but I think this is purely down to frustration with the amount of work that have to do I have never been to an hotel with no bands so they ask for your room number everyone and 9 times out of 10 question it irritating or what.
Food was not too bad if you were not English as was mainly catered for all other nationalities.
Entertainment was absolutely pathetic I counted 35 seats outside by the pool were the entertainment was if that’s what you call it we could have paid a third of the price we paid and I’m sure we would have got more for our money.
The guy that does the activities during the day was rude to my wife the first day we sat by the pool we took part in darts and he was ok with that then my wife approached him the second day as they had just started to to archery and he completely ignored her and shrugged his shoulders this then put us off doing anything during the day.
So on to our last day this was Thursday 23rd September I politely asked if I could keep my room an as we were not being picked up from the hotel until 6pm his reaction was exactly like this you can keep room until 2 but that don’t mean 2 in the morning you know what I mean and also then said you’re all inclusive stops at 5pm you understand you will pay after this time bear in mind what I said about our first day there WE USED NO ALL INCLUSIVE ALLOWANCE I would have told my TUI rep but never seen a rep all of our stay so please ensure you take all this into consideration before you make you’re decisions please I’m not just ranting because hotel is lovely and clean and waiting staff in restaurant we’re lovely and couldn’t do enough for you oh sorry last thing breakfast time 1 chef so will wait 15 min for an omelette.

Response from Eva Karg, General Manager at Seaside Sandy Beach
Responded Sep 28, 2021
Dear guest, Thank you for your stay and review. While I am glad that we could meet your expectations with the friendly waiting staff in our restaurant, as well as the overall cleanliness, I very much regret that you felt that we didn’t deliver in other areas. Our Junior Suites normally offer a mini bar, but with the COVID restrictions currently in place, I am sorry that right now we are not able to offer this service. I am sorry to learn that you experienced some waiting time at breakfast, while we prepared the different omelets to order. We can’t avoid some waiting time, as everything is freshly prepared, but generally the waiting time is well below 15 minutes. At the pool bar, we have a team of 2-3 people working. The only exception being between 11:00 am and 12 p.m. This is usually a slow hour, and only 1 person is in charge of the pool bar during those 60 minutes. I would like to extend the apologies of our animation staff. Patrick was simply very concentrated as you approached him, as this happened during the archery. He just wanted to make sure no accidents happened and it was in no way his intention to seem rude. In what concerns our evening entertainment, we offer more seating inside of our restaurant, so that all our guests can enjoy the shows. Finally, in what refers to the board options and late check-out: we don’t operate with a 24-hour system, and we believe all of the hotels in Spain follow the same procedure. That means, our guests can enjoy all services as of check-in (which is as of 15:00 hours on the arrival day) until check-out day at noon on the departure date. For our guests that have a late flight, and as a courtesy, we extend the all-inclusive option until 17 hours in the afternoon. We are also happy to let our guests to keep their room for a late check out, however during your stay we couldn’t offer this service, due to the occupancy of our hotel. However, I do hope that you made use of the courtesy rooms, we offer in these cases. As it is our biggest aim to provide all our guests with a perfect holiday, I am sorry that we couldn’t meet all your expectations. However, I would like to thank you once again for your stay and feedback. Both are much appreciated. Very best regards, Eva Karg, Deputy Manager Seaside Sandy Beach****

Probably not unless the hotel promise to guarantee good weather. But you could book a private terrace near the time when the weather forecast is good

Hi there Yes, we have had guests come to see us who live on the island. If you are all inclusive you just have their drinks put to your room bill. We have had our friends eat with us as well and we just paid for evening meal for them at reception. Really helpful and friendly staff Enjoy
