We stayed here for 1 week from June 15-22 and were very impressed. We arrived quite late and the chap on reception offered to get us some dinner (we were booked on half board) as the restaurant was just closing. Our room was 128 which was a nice position on a corner overlooking the pool. We didnt hear a sound from the Yumbo, or from other guests aparr from 1 night when we complained about a noisey new neighbour but the hotel staff delt with it quickly. We spent most days by the pool which is lovely and peaceful. Plenty of loungers. Breakfast was served most days at the poolside bar/restaurant (i think because it is low season and the hotel wasnt too full). This was a good buffet of fresh fruit, yoghurts, ham, meats, cheese, delicious breads, scrambled eggs and a few other cooked bits, but then your could order bacon, eggs, omelette and they were cooked fresh for you. Although we booked half board we asked to upgrade to all inclusive. It costs 28 euros per person per day and you have to do it for a minimum of 3 days ( i.e. you can't just choose to do it each morning). We upgraded for the first half of the week as we intended to go to the beach at the end of the week. We felt this was good value if you are staying at the hotel for the whole day and drinking cocktails as you can get your moneys worth. At the pool bar cocktails are 5 euros. Wine and beer are much less than this (around 2 euros for a glass of wine). Lunch is grear. On one day there was a BBQ. On the other days you just chose from the menu which had somw good variety - half chicken, burgers, steaks, pizzas, salads etc. In addition there was a salad and dessert buffet (which cost 6.50 if you werent AI). We ate dinner in the hotel every night and didnt get bored of it at all. Every night the food was great. There is a fresh salad bar, and some pre-prepared salad pots. Then there is a cold speciality section - sometimes this was shushi. Then there were several hot choices - pasta and sauce (i think this was every night but it changed each day), roast meats (one day was pork, one was beef, one day was chicken), various other diahes such as beef strogonoff, pork stew, lasagne, hake, sea bass, paella. One night was oriental inapired. Then there was a 'show cooking' dish which changed every day. As everybody else has said, the location for the Yumbo is brilliant. We had a great time and will stay here again.

The hotel is fantastically located a few steps from the Yumbo centre... and lit up like a rainbow so that every evening it is easy to find! Great staff, great food (half board - is a must). The rooms are simple yet spacious and comfortable.

The hotel was great comfy bed , great shower and the room was always spotless . Having the door straight into the yumbo was good. The only downside is the food we had half board. We ate breakfast twice and had dinner 3 times and we had stayed 11 nights. They don’t have British food but the main reason was there is little selection if it’s a fish night and you don’t like fish you have the choice of lettuce. I would go back to the hotel but wouldn’t go half board it was a waste of money.

This was our third time stopping at the Neptuno and as previously there was very little to fault. From the friendly staff, some of whom recognised us from last time to the clean rooms & overall ambiance, the hotel once again impressed. There were some improvements, including both BBC1 & ITV now included on the room TV, a spruce up of the reception & dining area, together with the addition of a 'business lounge' for the workaholics who need to stay connected to their jobs. There was a lot of building work within the hotel to overhaul the bedrooms but the staff were very careful to place guests at the opposite end of the hotel where possible & the noise & inconvenience was at a minimum. The only real complaint, in common with most other Spanish hotels, is the food is not restaurant quality. It is plentiful with a good choice but could be a little bland without any real creativity. It was good enough for our all inclusive package though & considering most drinks, including spirits, cocktails, wine & Cava included, the value was very good. The hotel also boasts a swimming pool with a water slide & a bar area serving meals and snacks at lunchtime, a sauna/steamroom & there is a private gate leading to the main shopping & nightlife area. Housekeeping was daily so there was no issues with dirty towels or bed linen & the rooms were kept clean & tidy by the staff. All rooms have air conditioning, a safe, ensuite bathroom, TV, radio & either a twin or double beds. Many also have a balcony/ terrace overlooking the pool area Overall another great stay with very little to fault. My recommendation would be an all inclusive package to maximise the stay & benefit from the almost constant food and drink
