I wanted an all-inclusive week in the sunshine, with a naturist sunbathing option. HL Suitehotel appeared to tick all the boxes, and indeed it did. The rooms are very clean, with a very comfortable bed and a decent shower. Public areas of the hotel are equally clean. The naturist sunbathing terrace on the rooftop was spacious and had amazing views over the surrounding area. It was also next to the rooftop bar, so was very convenient for having the odd drink and 10 minutes in the shade. I've stayed in Seaside Sandy Beach previously, and their naturist terraces are much less convenient. Despite several prominent "Nudist Use Only" signs, a number of women seemed not to understand the meaning of the rule. There were jacuzzis set into the floor of the rooftop terraces, and it was obvious that some people found them difficult to get in to and out of. It would help if each jacuzzi had a handrail in one corner, especially in view of the average age of guests! Other reviewers have commented on the predominance of elderly German guests, and this was my experience too. However, without their visits, the hotel would probably go out of business. They were on the whole well-behaved, although I found one couple to be incredibly rude. Although Spanish Covid mask rules had been removed when I stayed, lots of guests persisted in wearing masks. It really is time that we all got on with life. Similarly, there were lots of warnings around the hotel and notices on the lifts that you could only share a lift with someone if you were co-habiting! Again, it's time this nonsense was stopped. Talking of rules, the hotel's dress code for the restaurant was largely ignored. Vests, shabby shorts and flip-flops were very much in evidence, and nobody seemed to care. I was initially impressed by the restaurant; the buffet was attractively presented and regularly refreshed. However, it soon became apparent that the hot food on the buffet wasn't particularly good (and not particularly hot). The show-cooking of meat and fish was pretty good (although one chef was much better than the other). But trays of other hot food were very hit-and-miss on quality. The salad bar was very good, but that's not rocket science. Similarly the fruit and pudding section was well presented. There was no food available at the rooftop bar, but the pool bar did offer a limited range of snack food, although it wasn't well publicised (perhaps because the bar staff had to walk to the main kitchens to collect each order). One factor which was very impressive was the sheer quality of the staff. Without exception, they were polite, friendly and helpful. This is a big achievement, especially in view of the fact that some of them are probably newcomers following the pandemic lack of business. Amongst the bar staff, Jonathan, Pilar and Yanessa were especially impressive - these were people working with the commitment and dedication of a bar owner, not someone just working at the hotel. I hope their contribution is adequately recognised by management. Similarly, amongst the restaurant staff, Christina and Yaiza stood out for their standard of service. There was entertainment most nights at the rooftop bar (and sometimes in the lobby bar downstairs). The rooftop really is a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy the mild evenings. A number of gas heaters were used if it was particularly chilly. I'd certainly visit again.

My experience staying in HL Suitehotel Playa Del Ingles: Hotel cleanliness & tidyness are top standard; it's spotless and very hygienic. Covid Awareness is exceptional for guest and staff safety.Very polite, helpful, cheerful, professional and friendly Staff and Management. Manager Mr Martin Hier works from floor/operational level to management; he has many roles and responsibilities; he and his team work really hard for the hotel guests, for HL SuiteHotel. He acts very quickly to solve any issues by liaising with his expert team. Well balanced and healthy foods with options for everyone including vegans and vegetarians. Modern Spa with massage treatment rooms, jacuzzi, steamroom, sauna, aqua therapy etc. I had great relaxing time in the spa. The outdoor gym on the extended roof terrace was well equiped (enough weights, dumbbells, barbells, mats, drinking water, towels, and weight machines and cardio exercise machines). The sea view from the gym is stunning. The cardio machines (cross trainer, bike machines) need to be serviced/checked asap as they are not functioning properly. I jumped into the heated swimming pool everyday. There were daily exercise group classes e.g. yoga, pilates, core etc are delivered by qualified trainers. Beautiful and spacious roof terrace on the 9th floor to enjoy a stunning view and beautiful sunset. Great location (just 1 minute walking distance from the beach), a nice local Church less than two minutes walking distance , shopping centres, entertainment places, and eating places nearby, Yumbo Centre is about 12 mintues walking distance. Airport bus/coach station/stop less than a minute distance from the hotel (66 bus takes 25 minutes usually, bus 90 is another option). I will certainly recommend my friends to stay at HL SuiteHotel. I will stay there again and again. Mahbubur Rahman (Shakil), London, UK.

Back again for all inclusive week in the sun. More about the food later but the hotel is great - in a great position close to the sea (75 steps down to the coast though) with 2 lovely pools, a pool bar, lobby bar and the best bit is the rooftop bar with fantastic views of the dunes and the town, staffed by the fantastic bar tender Pilar during the day shift when we were there. The room was spotlessly clean with a nice big balcony with 2 chairs and a table. In the room, there is a kettle, a small fridge and a flat screen TV with EU and UK channels and a hairdryer in the big bathroom. Daily houskeeping. Two big complaints though - and I gave feedback to the local team so I'm not doing a typical Tripadvisor moan after the fact). First one is the food. Great quality and well prepared and presented. But stop putting bits of meat (ham / pork / bacon) into everything!!! This included the roast potatoes, a spinach pasta dish (this was mince) and the scrambled eggs at breakfast. I know you think you're adding value, but people who eat meat can add it themselves but I, who do not eat meat, cannot pick it out. Also, the pizza was fresh but stop putting the plain pizza on the same plate as the pepperoni / tuna one. The second was a lift failure on one of the 4 guest lifts. They seem to be out of their service period judging by the green stickers on them. It came back into service quickly but it is still quite nerve wracking stepping into any of the lifts. One small issue was smoking on the terraces. It is banned in all the bars (including on the terraces) but seems to be OK at the pool bar and the roof top bar. Maybe consider smoking sections? Covid measures such as mask wearing all well observed and apart from the 2 points above, I would consider another trip soon.

Although regulars at another Adults Only hotel in the resort we thought we’d give this a go. So pleased we did. The hotel was lovely and we really appreciated the rooftop bar and the naturist sunbathing area. The food was excellent - the best steaks I’ve had in years. Our room was a sea view room in the main building and we didn’t hear anything from the rooms next door, so maybe other parts of the building don’t enjoy the same soundproofing? The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

We booked for a long weekend and really wished we could have stayed longer. This is a great hotel. The location is first class. close to a lovely beach and close enough to walk to the Dunes...and I don't do walking! Lovely little bar areas overlooking the beach then carry on down to the beach level and more bars and shops. Close to the infamous Yumbo centre (14 min walk). The restaurant in the hotel is buffet, but is good. Nice selection and you can get steak, chicken and fish cooked while you wait, so if you want it well done.....ask for it well done. if the chicken isn't cooked to your liking, tell them to cook it more....simples. It is a buffet restaurant. It isn't a la carte and isn't a la carte prices either. Loads of fresh fruit, loads of good food and as always, friendly staff to assist. The room was great. Gorgeous big walk in shower, twin basins, no complaints. Bed was comfortable. The view was to the centre of the hotel complex which was a bit dull but how long do you stay in the room? Especially when the view from the Rooftop bar is si impressive. and if you are all inclusive, sit there with a cerveza or cocktail and you forget about the view from the room. The sun decks on the rooftop are great, but be careful...a cool wind blows so you don't realise your bits are burning...Oh yeah, there is also a naked section on the roof top, allegedly ;-) Pros - This is a great hotel, with great staff and all round good service. Good food, good drinks, great destination, and a rooftop sun deck with spa pool and bar, whats not to love... Cons - snacks on the roof bar would have been nice. Entertiainment was just OK, nothing special. Fridge in room wasn't cold but it did have a light on inside. Last note: Gran Canario hasn't really got back from the pandamic. Lots of closed shops and even closed shopping centres...please don't let this put you off, Gran Canaria needs its supporters and tourists back so it can get back to be the lively friendly great atmosphere place to holiday again.

There's nothing wrong with this hotel. In fact it is better than many other hotels built here in the 70s and 80s. Also, it has clearly been thoroughly renovated and very little remains of its origins in 1971. Still, the rooms are not soundproofed, as was the standard back then, and which is difficult to retrofit. I do not know why they advertise soundproofed rooms. They are clearly not. The dinner buffet is amazing. Those complaining either do not know what is reasonable to expect, or do not know how to eat at a buffet. The rooftop bar area is great and they also have the standard yard-pool and sunbeds. A strong point for this hotel is the vicinity to the beach, about 300 meter to walk some stairs and you're by the water. That is lovely. Also, the gym is outside which was nice during the pandemic (masks required even in gyms inside). And it's a real Technogym gym. As everywhere, retired Germans dominate. I do not think that there is any better option in Playa del Inglés for around €100 a night. The all inclusive is just about €20 extra which is amazing value. Without that, though, even Cola, coffee or a normal drink is surprisingly expensive. Being the original trendy party hotspot, Playa del Inglés has since turned to a overpriced horribly overbuilt, ugly, and over the top touristy dilapidated, worn memento of the 70s and the 80s. But it all depends on what you want. Yumbo is near, so is the beach, and outside of the pandemic, parties are everywhere, I guess. Strange detail: in the rooms they only offer decaf instant coffee. "This is our standard", the manager told me. So either bring your own or buy the all inclusive (or pay too much for a cup). Did they say four stars? Well, in Northern Europe this type of building is not four stars, but then again, the service and the food is over four stars. It's unfair to compare Spanish standars and traditions with, for example, Nordic ones. I would have given it five stars, all considering, but the price I paid for half-board €114 was a bit too steep. For €100 half-board it would be perfect.

Looking at the pictures I was keen to choose this hotel over others. I needed some time away after a very stressful few months and felt the rooftop bar would be perfect for some r & r. Check in was good asked for a possible upgrade but was told nothing available put in room 511. Room ok but nothing that resembled a suite standard double room. Dinner that evening, standard buffet fayre nothing special. Rooftop bar the view was indeed special but the barman did not want to converse with me a very angry man, I did mention it to Manager and bottle of wine was put in my room, consequently I never went back to the bar. Sleep deprivation is common at the hotel, to those that called it a nursing home would be right the common theme is that people set their alarms some as early as 5:30 am to be first down with their towels and first in the queue for breakfast. The walls of the rooms at this hotel are extremely thin, you can hear everything from the extractor fans to pee hitting the water to someone tearing toilet paper from its holder..... you get the picture. All in all I cannot wait to get back home quite frankly. To sum it all up, don't waste your money here stay at the Neptuno much better all round with a great lunch snack bar and not being woken by your neighbours.

Great hotel with fantastic location and sea views. Rooftop bar is lovely and the pool bar is OK. We didn't use the lobby bar this time but will be handy as the nights get cooler. The restaurant is functional and bright and the food is great quality, well cooked and really well presented. However, apart from pizza, chips and salad (with some one off mixed / roasted veg), the veggie selection remains limited. There was a spinach and pasta dish one night so they can do it. What about a veggie paella or a bean chilli?? Most of the soups were veggie as well though. We were AI and the drinks were fine - Amstel on draught and some branded sprits as well as cocktails and coffee. Our (standard sea view) room was big with a nice big balcony, although the bed was small. Just a standard double I think and we are used to a super king. Tea and coffee making in the room with a fridge for the water and beer. The TV had BBC1, ITV and Channel 4 for a few days, but then lost the signal. But that wasn't a problem for us - still had BBC News and a few other English language channels. The location is great. A few steps to the beach (down a lot of steps if you don't want to use the public lift at the Atlantic centre!). Kasbah is 2 minutes opposite although the Plaza centre remains fully closed. Yumbo is a pleasant 15 minute stroll (if you follow the main road and not up and down the valley steps) The staff were all lovely as ever. Polite, attentive, professional and very hard working. A great team.

On our last day of holiday and have very mixed experiences On the plus sides are Room ..master suite was excellent Staff .. couldn’t be more helpful and friendly Rooftop Bar … biggest selling point Negatives .. Just the one Food .. on the whole it is bland and tasteless To serve up fried chicken wings that are blood red raw in middle is absolutely disgraceful . My partner was sick for 2 days afterwards Complained on the night and showed photos of chicken to reception and restaurant manager Token bottle of cheap cava left in room following day ! Would love to return to hotel for amenities and staff but serious overhaul of kitchen management is required
