Lovely 1 bed apartment - with camp bed in lounge for third occupant. Living area very spacious, camp bed was unobtrusive. Arrived late in the evening, reception was closed but did not have to wait long for someone to meet us. A little disappointed that third bed, linen and towels were absent as they had misread our booking, but this was sorted out without too much delay. Cleaning staff are lovely, cannot do enough to help. Pool lovely - we had it to ourselves on occasions. Only downside was that the air-conditioning unit in the bedroom was next to useless - could not sleep in the unseasonal heat. Had to hire a fan for the lounge area so the third occupant could sleep. Wifi only available in reception, but they did advise that they were planning to install wifi in the apartments shortly. Overall, very good value for price charged and minor issues were sorted out very quickly (broken hob in kitchen). Air-conditioning needs upgrading though.…

Having booked last minute I was concerned about the low rating but needn't have worried. The apartment was modern and very clean. (The maid came in every day and was very friendly). There wasn't any air con but not a problem in October. The pools were lovely, the gardens well kept and landscaped. A very quiet resort which is not a problem if you like to escape the crowds. Our bungalow was at the top but not a problem if you are reasonably fit. There were lots of places to eat nearby and you could walk to Playa del Ingles all the way along the coast (took about 45 minutes). The local bus service was so easy to use and with the bus stop right outside the hotel you could venture easily to the other resorts. We had a wonderful winter sun break. The only downside for our boys (15 + 13) was the wifi but they survived!…

These apartments are a little basic but they make up for that by being clean and very spacious. They are set in absolutely fabulous gardens with beautiful views of the ocean. The pool area is clean with plenty of sunbeds available for all. A little yellow bus took us to our apartments and a put up bed was provided for us so our little one could come in with us. The balcony is brilliant, plenty of space and very sunny. We didnt see maid service at all during our stay which wasn't a bad thing because we were going out in the morning and by the time we got back the rooms would be spotlessly clean with fresh towels and a fresh smelling, cool apartment. The apartments have bars on the windows and balcony which means you can leave the windows and doors open knowing your valuables and more importantly your small children will be completely safe. There is a fair walk to the beach and surrounding areas but our five year old didnt use a buggy and she didnt complain. A quick taxi to Playa del ingles will provide you with a livelier holiday if that is what you are after but San Augustin is fabulous if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. Our teenage girls thouroughly enjoyed but we love spending time as a family and they dont need the constant activities that some hotels provide. So if your children need kiddies clubs then they might find this place a little boring. Saying that there are plenty of things to do a short ride away from San Augustin. We went camel riding and our kids thought that was great. Jet skiing, markets, boat trips and a water park should provide you with enough to keep the little guys happy. We enjoyed this holiday so much we have booked to go again in 2008. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.…

We stayed here for a fortnight and enjoyed a really relaxing break in the sun. The bungalows are spread out across a hillside overlooking San Agustin and with some views out to sea. There is a main road to cross between the complex and resort but this was never busy and wasn't an issue. I think the houses are all privately owned and then rented out through the complex or tour operators. This means that each apartment may be furnished differently. We had a lovely location not too far up the hill. When you arrive reception will arrange for transport for you and your luggage to as near as they can get you to your apartment. Apartments are cleaned 6 days out of 7 and our one was simply furnished and had everything we needed for our holiday. We tended to eat out but the kitchen came well equipped and we could have catered at home. The complex is large but as the houses are only 1 and 2 storey there are great views across the lovely gardens to the resort and sea. There are 3 large heated pools in various locations set in landscaped gardens with palm trees and beautiful flowers. Near reception there is a small supermarket and restaurant. Elsewhere San Agustin is mainly residential. There are a few restaurants and a great beach. There is also a small shopping complex about 15-20 minutes walk from Rocas. These shopping complexes are common on Gran Canaria and here you find lots of bars, restaurants and some shops. We found a couple of great places to eat there even if the surroundings are a bit like eating in a shopping mall. There is also a lovely promenade walk along the seafront all the way to the nearby resort of Playa del Ingles (much louder and livelier if you prefer that sort of place). We had a great time in San Agustin and were really pleased with our choice of Rocas Rojas. It was great value for money. Although there is not a lot to do in the evening taxis are cheap (about 3-4 euros to the much bigger resort of Playa) and we liked the peaceful atmosphere in San Agustin. Local buses run all over the island from near reception. We hired a car for 4 days and toured the island. It really is like a continent in miniature and well worth touring. All in all we had a great time here. The weather was perfect and the apartment was a great base for either lazy days at the pool or beach or for exploring further afield. Would recommend it. …

These Apartment are up the side of a mountain!! The apartments are scattered out up hill and are very very steep!! There is a a lot of steps up to each of the Apartments.... These apartments are not suitable for people with walking difficulties or for people with children in prams. Or me and im only 21 and fit and the apartment are very very very up hill put it that way. The Apartments them selves are all decorated differently and some are very old and run down and others are really nice just pot luck which one you get!! (The first apartment that we got was really run down and in need of updating and a good clean also we were moved to another apartment which was clean and tidy and a good bit more modern) The brochures state that these apartment are Quite!!! Huge under statement ... there is nothing around the apartments at all the closest shops and resurants are around 20 to 30 minutes walk and after walking down a mountain from and apartment this is a good walk for the fitest of people. The Apartments are far out from any night life or day life at that its 5 euro to the nearest town in a taxi and the same back. The pool areas are nice but there is no bar or snack bar at any of them and there are only a couple of Vending machines to get drinks! Any bearing in mind that there is no bar or reasurants for miles thats a bit annoying to say the least. and means that you must keep change with you at all times. The gardening and plantation surrounding the apartment is really lovley. Really well keep gardens. …
