If you are looking for an all inclusive hotel with good food avoid this hotel. I’m currently staying here and I already know I wouldn’t stay here again. I’ve had a hair in my food and been served raw chicken: the selection of food is poor and very repetitive. It is Luke warm at best and if you want to eat a little later than others be prepared for slim pickings as there isn’t enough of the main food to go around. The rooms are really good and the staff are friendly but the food is really bad for a 4* hotel
Splendid hotel choice. Location looks out to sea from up a hill so lots of walking but excellent views. We asked for two rooms close to each other with good views and we got this. Confusing that room number does not correspond to floor. Could have been a little higher. We were floor 4. Rooms were lovely. Very well presented and lots of space for storage. We were AI and it was worth it. Good selection of drinks including cocktails but Mojito is not AI. Food was fine for us. Good selection but we are not fussy. Regularly replenished. Breakfast outside was especially nice. All the staff we met were excellent. Large heated pool. Loads of loungers and day beds so no issues there. Free bus to Maspalomas where we have stayed before. Excellent day out to visit the dunes that are huge and also a nice touristy spot to mooch. San Augustin has a decent shopping centre to check out and lots of beach. Lovely bar in reception to watch the world go by. Roof top restaurant - not AI but you can visit the spa pool here and buy a drink and it has wonderful views. I’d have put the bar the other end of the roof as the sun sets that side - but the hotel vents are here. A missed opportunity as sunsets from here would be lovely. Outside show bar for warmer weather. Inside shows were a mix of singers and other acts. Mostly ok and worth watching. Happily recommend and would return. Taxi from airport quick and €30.…
60th birthday celebration (not recognised by this hotel) always get away for my birthday and always get a small gift, ie chocolates etc only a little thing but means a lot. Book in at reception went smoothly, HOUSEKEEPING room sea view, very nice room BUT there was a dirty plaster on the bedside table and someone else's toenail on the balcony!!! Reported to reception who in turn said would advise Housekeeping, nothing more happend. Kettle/coffee/sugar/3 tiny milks/fruit teas no normal teas🤔these were not replenished until the day before we left, I helped myself when at breakfast. Day 3 and no fresh towels, left in shower then replenished, other days towels left on balcony, but also replenished, we were there 7 days and the bed was changed. Food we upgraded to AI on second day, the food was good, especially breakfast, lots of fresh fruit and salads. There were reports of hot food being cold, I didn't have any hot food. ADULT ONLY ROOF TOP AREA the beds are 8 euro per day and you pay for all drinks, even though you are AI !!!ENTERTAINMENT mediocre. COCKTAIL OF THE DAY ADVERTISED, oh but if you are AI not available to you. STAFF Reception /restaurant/bar amazing, obviously Housekeeping needs tweaking (Gloria Palace you are very lucky). Outside areas very clean, lots of beds, but also a bit of towel reserving, no one removed. Hand sanitizer despensers everywhere But empty!!! All in all a nice stay, but could be have been better. …
We love this hotel & return at least once a year. Location is fantastic, food is good & staff are great! Two staff members deserve a special mention “Connor” in kids club & Eduardo in Bar/Restaurant, both amazing at their jobs! We noticed this year that unfortunately the birds are in charge of the restaurant, sitting over us & diving for food on nearby tables, this situation deters us from dining in the beautiful balcony area, hopefully this situation will be remedied next time we visit. Overall we had a great time ! !
A beautiful, well situated hotel. Rooms very spacious and exceptionally clean. Food for breakfast was excellent, plenty of variety. Would definitely recommend this hotel Staff were very friendly and efficient
The good parts are that the staff are really nice and helpful and are first class. The rooms are big and well laid out with a sofa and coffee table, fridge for personal use, TV (BUT....only BBC1 and 2 English Channels) Why just the 2 channels? Also tea/coffee making facilities in room which are great when on half board like me. A bottle of water left every day also. The adult Pool is very large and all one depth at 1.5M which is great for a swim. The first week of my stay the pool was like a warm bath no entry shock at all, it was gorgeous. The 2nd week it is like sea water temperature which ok is not too bad but a lot colder than last week so why the sudden change in pool temperature? Maybe someone will explain that! The Breakfast is very good and full marks for the well cooked bacon. The black pudding could be cooked to order as it is bone dry in the serving tray and not many peple eat it. Need to change their brand of watery beans and keep the beans HOT as often they are cold. Lots of pork and chicken at dinner every single night, a bit rabbit now and then, and the odd night of beef which is not great quality beef. No Lamb no Duck ever at dinner. The pastas and pizzas are very dissapointing also and this is one area where the dining experience could be improved at no extra cost. Ready cooked pastas and better ingredients on the pizza in an italian corner fresh cooking area. The ingrediants served now in the pasta, lasagne and canneloni etc tasted really cheap and low quality so hardly anyone ate them. I don't get that with all the quality fresh local ingrediants available, olive oil, tomatoes, spanish cheeses, garlic, peppers, mushrooms, red onion, chorizo and other spicy sausages, hams and chicken etc it would not be difficult at all to really improve things with a change of approach to the italian dish cooking. Decent discounts on rates for solo travellers is a big plus unlike many other hotels. A few ants appear in the room from time to time so you need to squash them on a regular basis. Entertainment is typical hotel crap with most of the singers murdering a song making it their own and I am sure make their own words up now and then, why not just put a DJ on and play some real good English chart music and other 70's 80's and 90 nights disco music etc at least then there may be a bit dancing going on instead the atmosphere is killed by the performers. ok Whitney was decent but the rest well enough said. 10 to 15 minutes walk to San Augustin shopping centre with two spar supermarkets bars and restaurants etc. The hotel coach service to Playa Del Inglas and Maspalomas is very good as it is an an air conditioned coach and leaves on time etc. All in all though it is a really lovely hotel and with just a few small changes here and there it could be doing even more business as it does provide very good value for money at around £110 per night HB booking direct with the hotel web site. I would return here again for sure as I really like it.…
Food choices could have been better. Not much variety for all inclusive. Dining staff very attentive. Spa amazing, Dany gave me an amazing massage. Yasmina & Gloria in the spa very friendly and amazing therapists. All in all a decent stay for a short break.
This is a very comfortable family orientated hotel in San Augustin to the east of the Maspalomas/Playa de San Ingles resort, but close enough to walk to the latter. The beds are comfortable, with fluffy pillows, which you can put on top of the bolster pillow. The room balconies are a good size with a table and two rather upright chairs. We stayed on a B&B basis through a package including the flight; the breakfast offering was excellent, although whoever wants to eat brussels sprouts for breakfast! All the staff were friendly and helpful, but some of the requests were not promptly carried through. The things stopping it being a five point rating are: The guest WiFi is not secure. That is a no-no for a four star hotel in this day and age. The air con is difficult to control and adjust. The consumables top ups and towel change arrangements were erratic. The electrical socket board in the bathroom was coming away from its place in the bathroom wall: this had not been attended to before we left, five days after reporting it. The "background" recorded music in the pool area and surrounds needs changing. The same tracks came around several times a day! We did eat in the 9th floor Gorbea Restaurant on two occasions in a 14 night holiday and the food quality and service were very good. The pool area was well maintained and the sun loungers plentiful. We would stay here again if returning to Gran Canaria. We had a car, as we usually do abroad, without which the holiday might have been more limiting.…
We have been many times and it really is a home from home. We had originally booked an airbnb in San Agustin due to the Gloria being full at the time of the booking. Fast forward from the airbnb not being up to standard we went to the Gloria on the off chance there would be some availability. Cyro instantly recognised us and could see our despair! He immediately reassured us he would help us which was massively appreciated, what an asset. Our stay as before was great and a final thank you to Cyro for saving our holiday and we are now booked to return in December. James & Lorraine
Best hotel i've ever stayed at. Wonderful welcome from the front desk staff. Room was lovely and spotless, with great view even from the first floor. Breakfast and Dinner buffets were great, a lot of variety and tasty. I only paid for breakfast in my package and added dinner a couple nights - would recommend adding dinner to your package if you think you might use it as it's cheaper that way. Staff were wonderful. Will definitely be back.
