Our room was beautiful, big and clean and a beautiful view over the sea and beach. The food was nice and the food in the Cristal restaurant was very good. The swimming pool was big enough and also very clean with the possibility of clean towels the whole day. The only thing was that there were many stairs and steps. We didn't mind but if you are not that mobile ask for a room near the lift.

We had been waiting to see what improvements had been made following the recent renovations and we’re not disappointed. The restaurant, in particular, is a massive improvement with the addition of an outdoor dining area. Also the pool deck seems to have been extended allowing more capacity and extra space. The staff, as always, are amongst the most friendly we encounter on our visits to Rui hotels in the Canaries. Finally, the evening entertainment was first rate, particularly Robert and Julia.

Just finishing a week in this rather nice hotel. We had a beautiful large sea view room. The bed was comfortable and the shower and washing facilities were excellent. We booked on a half board basis and breakfast and dinner gave us plenty of choice and the food in general was of a very good standard and the waiting staff were very attentive. The swimming pool was fairly well frequented but is large enough to never feel over-crowded. The overall feeling of the hotel is relaxing and calm. The beach at the back of the hotel is accessible via lifts and stairs and is very nice and doesn't get too busy. Water is nice and clear and calm but when the wind gets up it can become a bit choppy. The 'El Rayon' beach bar is well worth a visit it's a great place to sit and enjoy the world pass you by while listening to some great holiday tune. The Jandia market takes place Monday and Thursday. It is basically 'Looky looky men' from stalls. Lots of designer fakes and hard sell, not a great deal of variety in all honesty. So far so good....... I tried at one point to use the gym on site and was turfed out fairly unceremoniously after about 5 minutes. Apparently the gym was by prior booked appointment which is on the face of it is okay. But it would have been nice to have been informed that this facility was by appointment only rather than getting a quick lecture about Covid while getting the order of the boot! We had to fill out our Passenger locater forms a couple of days before returning to the UK and check in with Tui. We spent most of that afternoon raging over the passenger unfriendly way this is carried. When are the Government and the Tour operators going to get to grips with this nonsense? We couldn't fill in our check in without having our personal locater form completed and vice versa. Tui couldn't provide us with our return flight seat numbers which meant we couldn't complete the Personal locater form and therefore couldn't check in either. I think it's fair to say that the overall feeling I got is that travel between countries is still very much frowned upon and therefore it is made as difficult as possible to do so. I do hope that some sort of sanity will eventually return to the world and we be able to do things in a manner of freedom to which we had previously been used to. Overall it was a good holiday against the odds!

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. As much as we are glad to read that you overall had a good holiday, we regret that you encountered some inconveniences with your personal locater form. We encourage you to contact TUI directly regarding this matter since we cannot speak on their behalf. To end on a positive note, we are delighted to read your words about our rooms, gastronomic offer and friendly staff. We hope that you will come and stay with us again in a close future! We’ve just returned (15th Sep) from a glorious, one week stay at the Riu Jandia Palace. I would like to start by saying that some of the previously negative reports about this hotel are factually incorrect and I feel overly-critical. The location of the hotel may not suit those who wish to be daily beachgoers, as the elevated position necessitates utilising 2 lifts and a few steps. That said, I have some mobility issues and didn’t find them that bad, but personally prefer poolside relaxation anyway. Our room was one of the sea-view ones and was absolutely beautifully fitted out and had a stunning view of the pool areas and out to sea. The room was very large, had a stunning bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate loo. The bed was the largest one I think I have ever seen and was spectacularly comfortable. The decor and lighting is simply elegant, calming and very classy. There were plenty of plug sockets and handily a couple of USB charging ones too. The pool area was spotlessly clean and tended to by Eduardo, who quite obviously takes great pride in keeping the area so pristine. There were more than enough sun-beds and parasols every day and the supplied towels are jolly welcome. We stayed on a half-board basis and would highly recommend this. The breakfast menu caters for every taste possible, from cooked foods, a huge choice of fresh fruits, cereals, many bakery items and a vast selection of fresh fruit juices and smoothies. I might add, the morning coffee is also excellent. I can’t see how anyone could think the breakfast menu inadequate or lacking in variety. The evening meals were also of a high standard, with a huge choice of dishes. Again, I can’t imagine anyone would be unable to find a dish to suit their tastes. The hotel clearly has a very creative dessert chef and some of the sweets were fabulous. All of the restaurant staff are incredibly friendly, courteous, efficient, are happy to help and all wear masks. Prior to entering the restaurant, everyone has their temperature taken as a COVID measure and must wear a mask except when eating. I personally found this very reassuring. The poolside bar has a lovely lunch menu and provides a welcome break from the sun. The staff here are really marvellous. Angel and Monica looked after us and were an absolute joy. They were friendly, very efficient and rather amusing too. There is some evening entertainment every night, which I found perfectly adequate and not too boisterous. Absolutely every member of the hotel staff greet you and are so incredibly polite. In summary, we found this hotel to be outstanding in every way. The accommodation, restaurant, foods, facilities and staff are all first class and I really can’t recommend the hotel enough. So much so, that the day before we left; we booked for a two week stay next September.

We enjoyed a nice holiday in Riu Palace Jandia in August 21. Hotel is recently refurbished. Dont think the hotel was at full occupancy as there were always plenty of sunbeds available during daytime. Food was okay-ish but could have been better. According to my daughter the sushi was "the worst she ever ate". Rest of the food was ok but definitely not at super level. The separate theme restaurant was good only thing was that the courses were being served like a formula 1 race: Super fast !. Pverall a really good holiday in a nice hotel with good service. Food could be a bit better but I guess this is also a personal thing.
