Hubby and I made a last minute booking and were very pleased with our choice. Hotel Casablanca is a small, family run property with a traditional Spanish feel. Apparently the first hotel to be built in Santa Ponsa. We were lucky enough to get a refurbished room with a view of the pool and the bay beyond the trees. The beds were comfortable, the a/c worked well and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom was fully tiled with a huge walk in shower and always plenty of hot water. Clean towels were provided every day and the room was kept spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the food on half board and thought the selection was fresh and varied for a 3 star hotel. The restaurant was never crowded and we liked to eat on the outside terrace enjoying the view. A five minute walk took us down to the main beach and bars, and a 15 minute walk revealed a beautiful secluded cove perfect for swimming and snorkelling. The hotel is set into the hillside so expect lots of steps… 60 plus from reception to the pool! And the lifts only go so far. The pool terrace was never crowded and you could get a sun bed at any time of day. The pool bar made the most delicious sangria and drinks were reasonably priced. There is an extra charge and deposit if you want to hire pool towels, a kettle , a safe or a fridge. The only thing that would make it more enjoyable is some outside seating to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset in the evening. Would happily return to this hotel when visiting Mallorca.…
We booked in here after staying one night in a hotel in Magaluf Short-taxi ride away and a world of difference Half board is lovely Rooms clean & comfortable Food lovely Staff pleasant We will return to this hotel , it is set up a small hill but near enough for amenities Loved it
Bright clean room cleaned every day with new bedding and towels.Nice breakfast with a great variety. No problem getting a Sun lounger fab pool.Near fab restaurant s and near the beach.Friendly staff.Would visit again.
We travelled as a couple last week. We enjoyed the food which is buffet style. Lots of healthy options. Plenty of salads and fruit and a small amount of chips. Always a soup and bread on offer. Lots of Spanish options. Spanish and British breakfasts are available. Waiting staff were very friendly and quick to come to the table. They offered extra assistance to older people and those with disabilities. Only breakfast and dinner available in the well air-conditioned restaurant. Some seating outside. Breakfast available from 7.45am until 9.45am. Dinner available from 7pm-9pm. You pay extra for your drinks with dinner. A small beer was about €2.50. The free WiFi was perfectly adequate for us. I don’t know how fast it would be for gaming. Pool towels are €5/stay + €10 deposit. We evaded this by bringing our own. You are asked not to use the towels from the rooms at the pool. You need to be able to negotiate stairs to reach the pools. You can go into the apartments next door and go down in the lift but sometimes the doors were locked removing this option. The Pool was very clean and there was no need to reserve sun loungers. Many of the sun loungers have parasols. You can check in from 2pm and need to leave by 11am. You can sometimes pay a supplement to stay later, if available. However, we arrived at 1pm and they arranged for us to access the room at 1.15pm. Reception were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English, though we preferred to attempt speaking Spanish with them. We didn’t hear any noise at night. There isn’t any evening entertainment at the hotel and no thumping music to ruin the peace. The air conditioning is free, however, we would have liked to be able to make the room even cooler. The large tv had a limited number of English channels which is fair enough, this isn’t the UK! Tourist tax was about €17 for two people for four nights and had to be paid on arrival. You can rent a safety deposit box for €2/day + €3 deposit. The boxes are downstairs in the elevator lobby, rather than in a room and came in two sizes. The Spanish cleaning staff did a great job and were trustworthy. We didn’t have ants in our room on the fourth floor. We only asked for our room to be cleaned once and were very satisfied. Balconies either face the road or the pool. We brought along our own washing line and string as none is provided. Our balcony had two chairs and a low coffee table. We overlooked a car repair garage but didn’t hear much noise from it. Our twin room was clean and basic. It contained: two large, very comfortable beds, a big wardrobe, a suitcase stand, two bedside cabinets, a dressing table and chair, a chair and a tv. We avoided paying €5/stay+€10 deposit for a kettle by bringing our own kettle, cups and cutlery. There is no fridge, these could be hired for €45/week, which we thought was a bit steep! We opted to buy ice cubes in the mini supermarket over the road instead. There were only three plug sockets in our room. One is above the dressing table (nowhere near the bed) and two are in the bathroom, which we found a bit ‘odd’. The bathroom was clean and had a bath with a shower spray over it, a toilet and a basin. The plumbing worked fine and there was plenty of hot water. You are asked not to leave the key in the electricity slot while out of the room; a sign says you may be charged if found doing this. We forgot one day and weren’t charged. Santa Ponsa sits on a hill. The hotel was a 5-10 min walk downhill to the main Santa Ponsa beach. If you want a tiny, secluded, quiet beach walk for 20 mins to Es Caló d'en Pellicer. You’ll find it on online maps. The sea was very warm. If you go to Santa Ponsa beach at 9am it is very quiet. Both beaches have outdoor showers. We enjoyed the Mare Restaurant near Santa Ponsa beach, though the food took a while to arrive. There is a small supermarket across the road from reception and also a nice restaurant called Tauro nearby. There is a roundabout a 5-10 min walk downhill where you will find cafes, a bus stop, a taxi rank and some small shops. A taxi to Palma city was about €27 single. You need to wear masks on public transport. You could get a bus to Palma for €3 single, but beware that the bus stops at one extreme end of the city. If you go to Palma also note that the beautiful Parc de la Mar near the Palace is being renovated and is full of JCBs etc. We walked through the small area of gardens near the Palace and were found by the mosquitoes. We recommend taking calamine lotion and insect repellent if you visit. Overall we were very satisfied with the hotel. As two middle-aged, female travellers we felt very safe. The hotel was basic but we were prepared for this having looked at the photos and read other reviews. We were only disappointed by the air conditioning.…
I came away for a solo holiday for 5 nights, I read the reviews of Casablanca and saw good reviews. It appeared friendly and ideal for a solo get away. The hotel itself is nice, small and independent, but it has nice touches. Unfortunately a lot let it down, the room was very small and it advertised a bath, there was no bath, only a shower, I also had no hairdryer in the room. The staff on the most part are nice although, the bar man at the pool bar said ‘I see your here alone’ he also knew somehow?! What room I was in and said to me ‘are you scared?’ Which is very worrying as a mid 20 girl who is travelling solo! Also noticed the lifeguard on his phone taking pictures of people in the pool, whether that was of me or someone else, it is very strange and made me feel very very uncomfortable. I ended up leaving the hotel early and going elsewhere as I didn’t feel safe with them knowing what room I’m in and what was said, it could’ve been innocent but it made me feel very uncomfortable. The staff on reception don’t say hello. The only thing good about this hotel is the waiting staff who are nice and the fact you can always get a sunlounger. I really wouldn’t bother! Also ants all over the room! Gross.…
Booked 2 apartments. A 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom. I thought the accommodation and standard was quite basic considering the price we paid and none of the rooms in the apartment block get any sun on the balcony. Worse still if you get an apartment that faces the road. I felt the apartments were rather depressing.
My wife and I stayed here for 12 days in June 2022. Let's get this straight from the outset: this is not a 5-star deluxe accommodation, however, everything about the hotel far surpassed any expectations we had regarding a 3-star hotel. The hotel itself was charming and quaint, with lots of nice Spanish touches about it. It's not all modern with glass, and steel, and marble, far from it. But it hits a perfect blend of holiday and comfort. The rooms are very nice, comfortable, extremely clean, and the bathroom was large, bright, and perfect for our needs. On that point, the cleaners were incredibly thorough and meticulous and lovely and smiley and charming. The pool was excellent - large, spacious and with a great bar, the food at breakfast and dinner (when we had dinner in the hotel) was fresh, tasty, bountiful and delicious. One stand-out point is the staff: every single one of them, was delightful, kind, helpful, cheery - the staff here are a real credit to themselves and to the hotel management. They were so nice! The ladies in the restaurant were so nice and helpful, and I'll make specific mentions to Ramon, Felix, Jaime and Alicia who could not have been more helpful and approachable. The hotel is in a perfect location, less than 5 minutes walk to the local bars, restaurants and a large and great beach. It's on what I would call the quieter side of Santa Ponca, rather than the loud, brash, crowded and much younger resorty side on the other side of the bay. Much more pleasant if you're over 30 years old! If we ever return to this resort we would definitely stay at this hotel again - a thoroughly enjoyable experience.…
Myself and daughter have just stayed at casa Blanca hotel, I can’t recommend this hotel enough after having a 43 hour delay flight the hotel were fantastic, the waiters, bar staff and receptionist were fantastic, our room was so clean and cleaned every day, around the pool and the pool was spotless, the food was amazing. You don’t have to get up early for sun beds . The only thing I can’t understand is how this hotel is only a 3 * should be 4 I would definitely come here again. Thank you to all staff.
Well, where can I start? Just back from this fabulous hotel. We had an amazing week. Cleaners were friendly. Bar staff were lovely, jolly and nothing was too much problem for them. Reception staff exceptional. The grounds are amazing and so well maintained. As my wife has mobility issues and is on crutches permanently, it was great that there were steps going into the beautiful pool. Also as there is a lot of steps from reception to pool area, it makes more sense to take lift down from next door and walk to pool. Would I stay here again? 100%. Already looking to book for October. Thanks Casablanca. Mick.
Lovely little 3 star hotel. Great position, short walk to everything. Love that this hotel is family run and it was the first hotel in Santa ponsa. The Staff are brilliant. Ramon and Felix especially good and very attentive, but all the staff are brilliant. Meals are good. Always able to find plenty I liked. Love the way they scan your passport when signing in and it comes up, when you charge anything to you room. Great idea, no-one else can charge to your room.
