The service is consistently described as professional and friendly, with staff members receiving accolades for their helpfulness. While opinions on value vary—some commend the affordability, others are put off by additional fees for certain amenities. This was a winter half term break away from the rain, wind doom and gloom of the UK, lots of steps and on the top of the hill high up in Santa Ponsa which is an added bonus as the views are great and gets lots of sun, but plenty of walking and steps, pool is cold but there is a smaller one which is warmer and apparently heated, rooms are adequate for the purpose, at this time of the year it is very quiet as most things are shut up for winter but with this place you have what you need if you are going this time of year, food is pretty good for a budget hotel, drinks are ok, cocktails are pre mixed and out of a bottle if you like cocktails like this,
staff all friendly and happy, some limited daytime activities with Anton the entertainment guy with mostly bingo and karaoke in the evening with live music on a saturday, all this changes though I am led to believe in April time when there is more to do at the hotel with more going on, the dining room and also the evening entertainment rooms are both fairly small so I can imagine in the peak summer months with it being very busy and can be a bit of a nightmare to get a seat.
€45 from airport and takes about 25 mins.
Overall this place is good enough for a winter break and we would go back again at this time of year.

We are staying at this hotel at the moment and what they advertise it’s not exactly what you get there is no Wi-Fi unless you buy it well the Wi-Fi is not usable the staff in reception are quite unhelpful we booked a double room with double bed when we arrived we had two single beds when we enquired at reception was told they do not have double beds only singles you need to be aware that the rooms are not cleaned every day but on the day they’re not cleaned you can collect clean towels from reception.

The food is varied but the temperature is lukewarm in the morning they have fans going blowing cold air even when the temperature is not all that hot so after a couple of minutes your food is completely cold they have advertised afternoon snacks but when we enquired as to where the snacks were was told they were on the side we looked there was nothing there we have checked most days and there is never been any snacks whatsoever.

The animation team are brilliant very friendly and welcoming work very hard lots of activities morning afternoon and evening overall other than the receptionist all the staff are very friendly you just need to be aware that this is a very small hotel with one bar which doubles as a pool bar and evening bar and an afternoon bar.

The location has a good view of the bay but it is quite a walk down a lot of steps to get to the shops and restaurants in the town there is a minibus that takes you down there but it only runs every hour on the hour.

There are two pools the area is not kept as clean as it should be but you can always find a sunbed nobody seems to reserve them.

Overall it’s OK a small hotel at the top of the hill.

Service was good. On the whole staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly in the dining room. Food was good and plentiful, and was replenished quickly, and dirty plates were removed promptly.
Rooms are of a good size. In my opinion the decor is dated and the space allocated to the kitchen could be better utilised as a second bedroom, however, they were absolutely spotlessly clean and adequate for our needs.
The first room we were allocated faced the children's playground and, whilst it was allocated an outdoor space, that space was not partitioned off and was used by children playing hide and seek. We also had no privacy when the curtains were open. However, within 24 hours of asking, we were moved to a beautiful apartment with a balcony and sea view.
The views all around the hotel are incredible. The hotel is quite high up and, whilst the beach is not far, it is via alot of steps. There is a shuttle bus which runs down to the beach and back every hour. It drops off and picks up in the car park at the back of McDonalds rather than actually on the beach road. However, on our last day, which was a Sunday, we ended up walking back to the hotel after waiting for over 30 minutes. On arrival back at the hotel it didn't look as though the shuttle bus had moved, so that I'm not sure it runs every day.
We used both pools at different times. Inflatables are not allowed in the pools, even though some of the photos on Trip Advisor show inflatables in the main pool. Also, notwithstanding signs asking people not to reserve loungers, people were reserving loungers every morning when we went for breakfast. There is a lifeguard, however, when he was around, his attention was mainly focused on his mobile phone.
Evening entertainment was ok.

The check in guy was nice and friendly. I got my key and got a very vague description of where my room was. Luckily I found it. No description of where to go for food or drinks had to ask both of these things. So information is limited on arrival.

*THE HILL everyone keeps banging on about, I was expecting a HUGE hill. It’s more of a slight incline, it’s a long hill but it’s not a big hill like everyone suggests. I walked it every day for a week, noted i am 25 and without serious medical conditions.

The Wi-Fi is not good at all and you have to pay for a premium Wi-Fi for it to actually work (??) Later on I asked to purchase the Wi-Fi and they basically told me not to bother and save my money as it won’t work.

The rooms are nice and clean. Beds are comfortable and the air con is very good. If you do get a room in part ‘G’ of the hotel. There is a bar/hotel that plays loud music some nights till about 12am and you can hear everything that’s going on in the surrounding rooms, so good luck getting any sleep past 8am in the morning.

The spa pool is nice, it is supposed to be ‘quiet area’ but this is largely ignored by people and their children and staff do nothing to enforce the quiet area, so they shouldn’t really advertise that. The pools are nice and clean and a good temperature. BEWARE the steps are incredibly slippery when wet & the sun loungers seem to be on their last legs, lots of bolts missing and very flimsy to sit on.

Save your money with the all inclusive, it’s not really worth the money and the food is below average. Staff are attentive with cleaning away your dirty plates, but I found them to be not very helpful or friendly at all.

Overall, this is a 2/3 star hotel. It’s clean and I felt safe in the hotel which is the only positives I really have. It seems very run down and the staff don’t really care about the people staying there. Which is a shame, it could be a really great hotel if they tried abit harder.

We arrived at the hotel early in the morning and was allowed to check in straight away . The lady in reception was very nice and welcoming , however we booked a room with a balcony and we expected a sea view unfortunately this was not the case and we had no private balcony just a small patio where everyone walked passes to get to the rooms . We did ask to change as this was not what we booked and we were told the hotel was at capacity , which I find quite hard to believe . However the room was clean and comfortable and it was a quiet location . So we just decided not to let it out a downer in the holiday .

The food was great something for everyone even my fussy eaters were happy , the lady at the restaurant unsure of her name is one of the nicest people we have met , nothing was too much trouble and she always was welcoming .

The pool is nice plenty of sunbeds and it over looks they bay although freezing , the lifeguard again didn’t get her name but she was lovely .

Bar staff nice . Drinks ok and plentiful kids lived on slushies .

Entertainment …… that is almost as interesting as watching paint dry 😂 although one night a male singer was on and he was very entertaining .

Little disappointed with the lack of entertainment for kids and the no music around the pool even tho we asked many times was told yes it would go on but never did .

Overall this is a nice budget hotel with amazing views .
Most of the hotel guest were friendly and sorry to stereo type but the Germans lived up to there reputations , rude never say thank you push past you in the restaurants etc but that’s not the hotels fault .

The hotel is very hilly so this is not for anyone with any mobility issues .

Free shuttle is put on to take you to the beach and back , and taxis are readily available .

We would not re book due to the lack of entertainment and atmosphere .

Although we had no small children with us the animation girl did her best to entertain the little ones !

And one last mention to the cleaners they do a amazing job .

My husband and I returned on Friday after spending 4 nights all inclusive at this hotel. To be honest we only booked it a month before departure, it was a very inexpensive package that we booked and, after reading some of the reviews we were a bit apprehensive.
However, we had the most amazing stay! The hotel is in a nice quiet location, though at the top of a very steep hill but because of this the views are spectacular. Our room was very spacious and clean and the bathroom had recently been refurbished with a lovely walk in shower and the water was always hot. The food was gorgeous, plenty of selection at breakfast, lunch and dinner, was always replenished and hot - I have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels and the food here at Club Santa Ponsa I thought was better.
The bar was very good, the drinks were unlimited and good whether it be beer, wine, spirits or cocktails - the on tap sangria was especially nice and Chencho makes a lovely brandy and coke and martini and lemonade.
The wifi internet access is good and the staff are all vary helpful, polite and friendly.
I am a very fussy person and was put off by some of the negative reviews about this hotel but I can honestly it was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and would definitely go back again.
A very big thank you to all the staff for making our stay an enjoyable one with life long memories!

We stayed here beginning of March for our first family holiday. It was quiet and not too busy as was out of season. All staff were really friendly especially "Cencio" on the bar.
The entertainment lady "Arianna" was really good too. our boys were the only children there on holiday and she made every effort to make sure they had a great time, taking them to kids club, face painting them and giving them their own mini disco! Thank you!
Lovely clean room the cleaners did a thorough job every day and we had an amazing view from our balcony.
Food was amazing always something new to try the boys loved all the ice cream and one night they had a chocolate fondue.
On my partners birthday which we were away for, the restaurant manager gave us champagne as a kind gesture :)
Receptionist very friendly always willing to answer any questions. The big swimming pool was freezing, too cold for anyone to swim in at that time of yr but we managed to get in the smaller pool which is slightly heated.
Overall a fantastic place to stay with small children everyone made us feel welcome we will definitely be returning.

Just returned from a very enjoyable week in Club Santa Ponsa. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. They were all so hard working and always helpful if needed. Good humoured and smiling away all the time from what I experienced. Great bunch.

The pool for us was lovely and never too busy. It is deep at one end but that was great for our girls for jumping in and having a splash. Most of the time sunbeds were spare and not too much bagsying of the sunbeds going on.

Room was very clean, and air con was more than sufficient, and the first few days before the storm was roasting!

Yes it is up a hill (amazing views - sea view room deffo worth it) so if you don't like a short wander down stairs or a slightly longer slope then of course you will grumble. We went down one day to beach and the heat was too much, it only cost 4€ for a taxi back up for all four of us.

Views were stunning, and all 4 of us loved the food. Great selection and as our girls enjoy trying different types of food they were always more than happy. Even if you are fussy fussy, then the basics were there to keep you happy in my opinion (chips, burgers, hot dogs, cheese, pasta, ice cream, fruit etc etc). The chefs and resaurant staff work amazingly hard and are lovely.

Couple of tips...
I believe a private taxi is only about 40€ max from airport so next time I will do that instead of transfer I did this time.

Western waterpark was a good day out. We got tickets online reduced and then a taxi was 11€ each way just.

1.5l water bottle was only 1€ from bar so not worth going down to shops to get IMO.

Just returned from 9 nights at Club Santa Ponsa. The views are what make the hotel, they really are amazing. We went as a family 8years and 4 year old children. They really loved it, the mini club is right next to the pool and my 4 year old loved going there and I was happy as I could see her at the same time. The pool isn't very big but we always found a sunbed and the pool itself is big enough to swim and for the children to play In. Food was good only downfall was breakfast, understandably the hotel has to try to cater for all nationalities, we just didn't seem to find what we liked during breakfast. Other than that food for lunch and dinner were great. We had a one bedroom apartment which was really spacious we had views of the mountains but I really liked that. For the money you pay for the hotel you cannot complain. I would definitely return 😊

We've been loads of times to this hotel - recently in October. They're usually very responsive on emails. I've seen on here that people have been contacted to say that it's not opening this season. Have you messaged them via their FB page?

We had a studio, it was a double bed made up of 2 singles, and the sofa bed was more like a wooden single bed with 3 sides. Not a flimsy fold up bed. hope this helps
