Had a lovely stay at this adults only hotel. The location is perfect - a few steps away from the gorgeous beach, the bus stop to Palma is next to the hotel, lots of bars and restaurants close by. I was in a double room, it was compact but nicely put together. At nighttime you could sometimes hear noise coming through the balcony door which kept me awake one night. You’re only provided with a small bottle of shower gel, shampoo and body lotion. This seems like a lot of plastic waste. Most other hotels these days have shower gel dispensers attached to the wall which reduce the use of single use plastic. The safe was free which was a nice touch. As others have said the fridge wasn’t great. You could watch the sunset from your balcony which was a lovely experience. Breakfast was good which lots to choose from and nice coffee. All staff I met were lovely. They even gave my mum a bottle of fizz to celebrate her birthday. If you’re wanting to visit Santa Ponsa I’d recommend this hotel.

Ewa owner of the hotel kicked me out without reason. I don't recommend. I didn't belive about her when I saw comments below. You can read more about treating people in this place here. Better chose other place.

Overall, a mixed experience…. Positives: - fantastic position near the beach, on the ‘quieter’ side of the bay - quite new sun loungers and umbrellas - pool was clean, no sun lounger wars - fast, reliable Wi-Fi - breakfast was buffet style and on the whole of a good enough quality - air con was great, free safe in room - room we had looked over pool and was very quiet - perfect! Negatives: - overall we felt the hotel was short staffed - so some of the below comments may be due to this - room was cleaned every day but this was a very quick basic clean. Level of cleanliness was just about acceptable. The women who cleaned were lovely and may well be pressed for time. - some of the towels and bedding were not in great condition (but were clean) - no drinks service round pool, had to go into bar area where it was confusing as they didn’t really want you to order from bar. Waiter was taking orders from customers in front area - but not the pool. It was just awkward really, and no option to have a tab. - standard room was very small, and some of fixtures and fittings were in odd places. ie tv near sliding door and wall lamp no where near bed. - often no one at reception, multi tasking doing other things - this is understandable but a buzzer would be helpful - no shower room available if you have a late departure. We had to pay 60e to keep our room. Not ideal but easier for us to just pay it. I think this hotel probably just about scrapes into the 4 star category. It was ok for us - position in resort and peace and quiet are really important to us. But would we stay again or recommend it? No, we wouldn’t. For the price we paid there are plenty of other hotels to try. This hotel is in the “not quite” category.

Hotel was basic def not 4star. Although it was central to the beach and restaurants etc. We had a room with a "sea view" but unfortunately a massive tree was all we had to look at. Was very noisy on street outside. A few of the mornings was like waking up on a building site extremely early with the noise of lawnmowers lorries etc.

So the good about this hotel: Room serviced everyday, large terrace for our room (we booked deluxe room), aircon was good, location was great with bus stop for travel to palma beside hotel, taxi rank outside as well, lots of sunloungers, pool area was well maintained and had a life guard, adults only so no kids and was super peaceful, they give beach towels for pool which is good And the bad about this hotel: It's not a 4 star hotel to start. Some staff aren't very nice (older lady at reception seems to have her staff heart scared to breathe). Restaurant is only opened at 5pm so you have to leave pool to go get lunch which is annoying to not have the option. Breakfast ends at 10.30am sharp so don't land down at that time as they will turn you away. They don't wait for anyone. Bar is a nightmare - staff don't seem to like you to order a drink at the bar always asking you to take a seat on the terrace. Annoying since I just wanted a coke to bring to my room, why all the formalities? Then asking for the bill took an age... all for a coke! They won't serve you at all before 11.30am even if it is a coffee you want and they won't serve after 11pm. You are made to feel like you are unwanted and a hassle. We chose to eat and drink away from hotel as much as possible for this reason. Rooms are clean on arrival but they only make bed and give new towels daily. Didn't replenish shower gel at all, we just bought some as got sick of chasing down housekeeping to give us new shower gel even though they had been in our room already. Could have done with a brush of our room and terrace at least once as we were there a week. Fridge in the room was rubbish, May as well not have bothered as air con would keep drinks cooler. All in all I enjoyed our stay but it wasn't relaxing, felt a bit like I was on a school trip with all the rules and staff being in edge. I wouldn't return if I am honest, there are better hotels. Shame as there are some good positives but I didnt leave feeling like I wouldn't stay here again. Just left a negative vibe.

Just back from a 5 night stay at this hotel. Its in a great location right in the middle so you can go one way yo the quieter end towards jaggy thistle and fat Sam's or you can go the other way towards the strip or the square. Too many places to visit couldn't fit everything in the time we was there. Short walk through the park to the beach. Rooms very nice, cleaned every day. We stayed in room 306 facing the front of the hotel. Nice views, heard a bit of noise on a morning street cleaners etc but nothing major. The only problem with rooms facing this way is the sun is on it into the early evening so can't sit and chill on balcony after shower as still so hot. Room size was OK however not much storage space. 2 sides of wardrobe and 2 small drawers is all. No drawers in bedside tables. Airton and safe are free. The air con is great in fact we actually got cold in the middle of the night at times. Breakfast was OK, always enough to eat and fill up for the day. Fridge was a good size and enough to get a couple bottles of water in and some snacks. 2 small bottles of water in there when we arrived which was nice. Beds really comfy.

Just back from a 10 day stay at the plaza absolutely fab hotel, staff were friendly so much choice for breakfast, room was spotless and air con perfect. The only problem was some of the guests who were roudy round the pool and shouting over the balcony but this could happen in any hotel, will definitely return

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend stay. On arrival we were welcomed by the receptionist, given our keys to room 209 - off we went…when I opened the door the smell of cigarette smoke hit me, this got stronger with each Foot step. I got as far as the double bed and we turned back around. We requested a different room, the receptionist obliged and we were given room 218 instead. We thought maybe the smell of smoke came from the seating area below, people smoking l. Room 218 had a large bathroom - would be ideal for someone who had mobility problems. Very clean, bed a little squeaky but no big deal. Seen reviews regarding AC but my god I was freezing in the night (my partner loves to crank up an AC). Noticed the patio doors didn’t shut extremely well - woken on one night to a bunch of inconsiderate idiots up on the large balcony from 3:00-5:30am - and the when we went down for breakfast they were still drinking and being obnoxious shouting. If you’re here for that kind of 18-30s vibe you’re not in the right hotel. But the last night we didn’t hear a peep out of them. We chatted with our guests around the pool - bonding over watching penalties for England women’s World Cup game but otherwise the pool was quiet and serene. My partner thinks that it lacks some background music however I was quiet happy with earphones or just the quiet to relax in. All in all we would return to this hotel again. - Great location - clean and friendly - Drinks including cocktails really nice (deposits for cups around the pool, think it encourages people to bring these back to the bar) - lovely breakfast, even allowing us in early on the last day to ensure we have breakfast before our pick up Thanks for the lovely relaxing weekend :)

SOMEONE BROKE INTO OUR ROOM! We stayed in the Hotel Plaza from the 23rd of July till August 4th. Our first impressions of the place were fair, the location was excellent, the receptionist was lovely and the cleaners cleaned our room daily, our only original fault was that the AC was not for very strong and did not cool down our room during the very hot days. All was going well until the 30th of July, during the early hours of the morning we were woken up to an intruder in our room, he was closing the balcony door behind him and as you can imagine we were extremely frightened and upset and screaming at the man to leave our room immediately, this man kept using foul language against us and was extremely intoxicated and had gone into our bathroom, we frantically rang reception where the receptionist Vicky quickly came to our room and she was honestly shocked over the entire situation. After 15 mins she was finally able to get the man out from our room and we soon realised he was from another room within the hotel, this man had ENTERED OUR ROOM VIA OUR BALCONY WHICH WAS ON THE 2ND FLOOR. Now as you can imagine this whole situation was very scary and extremely dangerous for every party involved. At around 11am the manager (EVA) had called us down to speak to us, when we got downstairs the manager did not bring us to a private area but spoke about the situation in the lobby in front of others who were passing by. Whilst speaking to the manager about this she was extremely rude and did not show us any empathy for the ordeal we had been put through, she kept discriminating against us “typical young people”, pointing her finger at my face and would not allow us to speak, I have never spoken to someone so rude and obnoxious in my life , you would think after spending so much money to stay in this hotel she would treat her paying customers with respect and be more sincere to us after everything we had been put through. Not only was she extremely unprofessional she tried joking with us over how corrupt she was, admitting she would lose peoples passports if they caused any wrong doings in her hotel, this caused the rest of our trip to feel uncomfortable, we would frantically leave our room each day and enter our room quickly because we felt so unwelcomed and uncomfortable over a situation WE DID NOT CAUSE. This manager was treating us as if we were children and showed us 0 respect. And when we asked for compensation for that night, she rolled her eyes and kept telling us no , because apparently someone breaking into our room is “Human Error” and because he was sorry we should be entitled to absolutely nothing. This hotel also does not have any sort of security or CCTV within the hotel, not only are her customers at risk she is also putting her employees at harm, by not having the proper resources. They also allow randomers to roam the hotel corridors and lifts, one night when coming back we were faced with an extremely intoxicated man in the lift covered in his own vomit, this man was not a customer but was able to randomly roam the hotel at 2am as he wished. I for one will never be staying at this hotel or any of the other chain hotels around the area Jutlandia and Plazamar.
