Location: On a slope above the sea, the center and the main beach are about 1500 meters away. The next bay and shopping area are a short walk away.

Facilities: Renovated in 2012 the SENTIDO Punta del Mar with 234 rooms on seven floors has a lobby with sitting area, internet corner and WiFi internet access, TV room with satellite TV, a bar, a cafeteria with a large terrace and restaurant with sea views. The outdoor area has got a swimming pool, sun terrace with loungers and parasols and a poolside bar. Minimum age 16 years

Meals: All meals in buffet form.

Lodging: The rooms are equipped with shower / WC, air conditioning / heating, wireless internet, mini fridge, safe (extra charge), telephone, satellite TV, balcony and sea view. Junior suites are larger with the same features and in addition have a hair dryer, bathrobe, minibar and seating area. Visited this Hotel on numerous occasions, over the last 12 years with my hubby, never get tired of coming here, just love the hotel. Fantastic views and lovely staff, who are very attentive and friendly. Rooms lovely and clean. I stayed 3 nights this time, along with my daughter and friends, for a small break away, wish we could have stayed longer.

Absolutely loved our stay here! We were a group of 6, staying in 3 promotional sea view rooms (315, 314 and 312) from 30th March to 5th April. Rooms were comfortable, view was great and had complimentary tea and coffee. My only niggle would be the cups are very small and as a typical tea drinking English person, you couldn't get a decent cuppa out of it. Bathroom had everything you needed. There was a bad drainage smell the first couple of days which we put down to a passing storm or as the hotel had recently opened for the season, but that passed towards the end (room 314). All the staff were fantastic, friendly and even endured our failing attempts at speaking Spanish. Big shout out to Christian who is in charge of the entertainment, he had us joining in all the activities, shooting, yoga, shuffleboard, Jenga, archery, bingo and to top it all off, karaoke.  Food was really good, nice variety at breakfast and dinner. Drink prices are reasonably priced and again, a good selection. I say this with every hotel I stay at, that the labelling, especially allergens, for the dishes could be better although one of the chefs will take you around personally to advise you if you ask. We used the spa facilities, which was a really great addition as they were free to use and you don't need to book etc. You do have to pay for any treatments and prices seemed fair but we didn't book any during our stay.  Pool area is clean and there are plenty of sunbeds, albeit they are closer together but there are plenty of them around. The views are spectacular and it's so calming listening to the sea whilst your sunbathing. We used the pool twice, the first time it was so cold we couldn't feel our feet but after the next couple of days it wasn't so bad, guess the later in the season you go, the warmer it'll be. Area where the hotel is is quite quiet with not much good on, but that didn't bother us as that wasn't the intent for our holiday. There are a couple of spar shops about a 5/10 minute walk if you wanted some snacks etc. All in all, it was a great holiday and we all enjoyed it and will definitely look at returning in the future.

Lack of considerations for guests. We arrived during a period of hot weather, due to the airflow from Africa, but there was no anticipation from the hotel for the guests. The central air conditioning was still in heating mode, only 1 bottle of water was provided during our 4-day stay. We were only advised to open the window, to make our room cooler, even though one of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of the air conditioning. After a second complaint, we were given another room in a cooler location. The water supply was cut off due to repair at the swimming pool without any notice to the guests. I was in the toilet at the time. When we were using the spa facilities, our peace and comfort was disturbed by some people who came inside the spa facilities making noise, setting up camera equipment, etc. We politely asked the spa manager to stop the activities of those people as it disturbed our comfort, but was ignored, citing that those people were hotel contractor who were doing a photo shoot for hotel marketing. We tried to stay calm, but couldn't and decided to leave the facility. There was no apology, including from the spa manager and duty manager who were there at the time. We took the complaint to one of the receptionists, as the duty manager refused to speak to us. Unfortunately, the conversation did not look positive to us. They blamed the contractor too much and tried to bribe us with a complimentary dinner at the hotel that we didn't use.

Dear Guest, We greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide such a detailed review of our hotel and we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences that affected your stay. Regarding water, bottled water is €3 per bottle, while filtered water is available at our Spa's filling station. We're working on a more accessible filtered water station, but no date is set. Regarding the pipe repair, we received notification from the technicians just moments before it began. Given that the repair was swiftly completed within an hour, we made the conscientious decision not to disturb our guests with unnecessary alerts. We sincerely apologize if this unexpected maintenance caused any inconvenience during your stay. Your review has drawn our attention to certain misunderstandings. Unfortunately, we overlooked the posting of signs in the spa area to notify guests of the filming. This was certainly an oversight on our part. We want to clarify that we were only aiming to film our facility and that no guests were recorded at any time at the SPA. During the filming, only our marketing coordinator and spa manager were present and they did not handle the situation well. The individual you identified as the manager on duty was actually our marketing coordinator. Regarding your request for an apology from the manager on duty, we would like to clarify that the manager did indeed apologize to you before your departure from the hotel. Since he was not present at the spa area. We are deeply sorry that you perceived the complimentary dinner as a way of bribery. Our offer was not intended this way, but rather as a gesture of goodwill once we became aware of the situation. We regret this situation and assure you that such occurrences are not in line with the experience we aim to provide our guests. We have visited this hotel many many times and have never been disappointed. All staff are pleasant, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the views from every room we have had are superb. The food prices at the poolside seem to have risen quite a bit but the food is very good quality.

We stayed for 7 nights, booked via Jet2. We were the only couple from our full flight to stay here, which surprised us. Lovely welcome at reception. When we entered our room (118) we were mobbed by flies, lots of flies. Most of them left on opening the doors but I did go back to reception to ask for a spray and was told the housekeeper would come. After an exploration of the hotel we went back to our room to still more flies as nothing had been done so I had to go back up to reception to find out what was going on, it seemed the message hadn't been forwarded but eventually someone came and sprayed. Great. We were on floor one, which was the ground floor and not the first floor as I had booked, as in the brochure it stated a promo room on the first floor. That evening we were chilling in our room when all of a sudden it was like we were in the middle of a concert hall when the evening's entertainment started, which we had to put up with for a couple of hours. In the morning I went up to reception to ask if we could change rooms because of the noise, this wasn't a problem but the receptionist did say that our agency should have told us that promo rooms were not the best rooms! Most hotels we stay in have an information pack/ book, this one didn't and it wasn't really a problem until on day 4 when a laminated card was put on our bed saying that there is no smoking in the rooms, I thought that housekeeping had forgotten to leave it in the room on day one and thought no more of it because my husband who is a smoker never smokes in the room, but on the terrace. On return to our room the next day there was a letter addressed to us, saying that we would be fined if caught smoking in our room, or on the terrace. We both went to reception to ask them to explain why there are no notices anywhere that say this. Hotel policy they said. We apologised but how were we to know? We did notice camera's on some of the balconies above our ground level, this must have been how they knew, which is another worry, Big Brother is watching. The hotel is lovely with fantastic views and the food is fabulous and most of the staff are lovely too. The highlight of our week was watching a lone dolphin swim past whilst we were on the terrace. Santa Ponsa itself didn't endear itself to us. We take a walk after dinner and which ever way we went out of the hotel, we came across dog dirt of all shapes and sizes. Not pleasant. We fancied a change from our usual resort in Majorca and feel that perhaps we made a mistake so won't be doing that again in a hurry.....

Regarding your comment on our hotel's smoking regulations, we would like to inform you that our hotel proudly upholds a non-smoking policy, which is clearly stated on our website and in our advertisements. The card on your bed indicated a no-smoking policy in the room as our hotel considers balconies and terraces as part of the room. Our guests receive an information sheet at check-in, where our no-smoking policy is mentioned as the last piece of information under the check-out time. For smokers, we provide designated areas outside the hotel entrance, a small section in the restaurant, and a specific area in the bar to ensure a pleasant stay for all guests. Regarding your concern about surveillance cameras, we assure you that we do not monitor the balconies/terraces of our guests. Privacy is guaranteed in the rooms and their associated balconies/terraces. We understand your surprise regarding how we received information that your partner used the balcony of the room for smoking. This can be easily explained. As our hotel proudly presents itself as a non-smoking hotel, we have guests who specifically choose us for this reason. When these guests realize that someone is smoking on the balcony/terrace next to them, they naturally report it to our hotel staff, who then communicate with the smoking guests to prevent further inconvenience. Despite any inconveniences you experienced, we hope to welcome you back to our hotel in the future. 10 times at this hotel and still a wow on every visit. Staff make us feel special and nothings too much trouble. One slight complaint this time which was rectifyed was food needed to be hotter. However a word to the restaurant manager and it was hot next day. Only fare warning to elderly or people with mobility issues, this hotel is at the top of a hill. But only 5 euros taxi ride back from Santa Ponsa. We'll definitely be going back. Don Flowers

Hotel was clean, modern and comfortable with extremely professional and friendly staff. Excellent choice of food, both for breakfast and dinner, Andrea & Enrique managing the restaurant were amazingly efficient at always finding you the best table. Room was far better than expected with a fabulous sea view. Town is a 5/10 min short walk away. Spa was fantastic and free to use without having to book. Pablo who ran the stretch/yoga classes was so good. Will definitely return.

The hotel is immaculate & has stunning views. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, all rooms have sea views. We were greeted at reception by lovely staff who offered us a welcome drink. We had a lovely surprise of being upgraded to a premium room, I think maybe as it was an occasion ( my sisters birthday) Cleaning staff were excellent. My sister & I visited for a short break for 4 nights & booked half board. The food was amazing! Delicious choices of everything and so much variety. We particularly enjoyed the lovely relaxed breakfasts each morning looking out at the wonderful views. All the staff at reception and restaurants/bars were amazing and so helpful. We had transfers to and from the hotel, which again was first class ! Would definitely highly recommend and would love to return in the future.

A really superb looking hotel in a wonderful position, lovely bedrooms , great breakfast and all, and I mean ALL, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great swimming pools and sunning area with easy access back to the bar. I will recommend to my friends.

We had 7 nights at Punta Del Mar and we weren't disappointed. Check in was made even easier with a glass of cava to refresh after travelling. Our room on the second floor was clean with a sea view, plenty of storage and a very good shower. Lovely views as advertised. All the bar areas and outside areas were clean with sea views every where you went. Half board was breakfast and evening meal, both buffet style. The food had a great choice for all tastes and we would be surprised if there were any complaints. The spa had a small heated pool with various jets, a sauna warm beds, steam room and showers. Towels provided. Other beauty treatments were available at an extra charge. There are steps down the rocks from the pool area to the sea, but these have no railings or anything to hold onto so we would advise to be very careful. All the staff were very helpful, polite and seemed genuinely pleased to see you. Santa Ponsa is about a 15 to 20 minute walk away, mainly downhill as this is quite a hilly area for walking, ok going down, we got a taxi back from the centre 4/5 euros. As it was early season February, as to be expected there was not a lot going on so do not expect a busy bustling area at this time. A few cafes were open during the day and probably some restaurants but we did not eat as the hotel food was more than adequate. We would be happy to go back to Punta Del Mar for another stay.
