Detailed Reviews
Brilliant location near bars/restaurants/shops. There is a supermarket directly opposite the hotel and a spar shop slightly further down the street.
The rooms were lovely and there was plenty of space, rooms clean and cleaned everyday with fresh towels. The hotel itself was very clean also.
Stayed all inclusive however only ate at breakfast in the hotel as the dining room was always very busy and as a result, very loud. Personally i did not enjoy the food however the person i was holidaying with did. As a result of the noise we ate out at lunch and tea everyday.
Upon arrival you are given a plastic cup to use at pool bars which is not an issue for me personally, in the bar inside you do get given glasses.
There was always plenty of sun beds round the pool however we went to the beach rather than sitting round the pool as thatās what we prefer.
Some people staying at the hotel were unable to socially distance and were getting just too close.
Staff were helpful and printed off forms etc at reception for free.
We got a private transfer to and from the airport which was well worth it as when we arrived at the hotel we had checked in, got changed and unpacked and eaten before the tui bus transfer had arrived.
I would return to the hotel at the right price as good location but personally, the food was not really good enough to eat there all meals every day and neither was the atmosphere of the dining room.

On the whole we enjoyed our stay, however the hotel seems to be trying to cut back, under staffed and over crowded.
Upon arrival my daughter vomited outside, we reported this to reception and it was promptly cleaned. Check in was quick and the staff friendly and helpful.
Great location, a short walk from bars, restaurants and the beach.
Our room was small and overlooked a derelict hotel, however it had the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay and was clean. The housekeepers do a great job as with the rooms being small and storage at a minimum, they have a tough job.
The travel cot provided was damaged and my son kept falling down the sides, I reported this to reception and a new was was provided immediately.
The food at the hotel is good in the dining hall but limited at the Pizzeria. There is plenty choice in the restaurant but as with all buffet food it was just warm.
Towards the end of our stay it was apparent the hotel is cutting back. Only one restaurant is open to service 2 hotels, more dining tables appeared in the dining hall and it started to feel very over crowded. There were rarely clean pool towels available and only one staff member on the reception which meant queues.
Tooth picks were issued to punch holes in the bingo card as it is cheaper than pens! The hotel is under staffed and over crowded. There are queues for the restaurant and the serving times are very late for young families. The children's disco starts at 9pm and ends at 9:20 which in my opinion is too late and too brief. It's also the same 5 songs every evening.
The guests reserve sun loungers despite the hotel taking steps to avoid this. There is a queue to get out to the pool at 8am, some days people would RUN to reserve a lounger. The guests also seem incapable of walking down a few flights of stairs. Covid dictates only one family per lift, there are only 2 lifts and with young able-bodied people calling the lift from the 2nd floor means more queuing.
The staff are friendly and incredibly hard working. The hotel is clean throughout.
The air con in our room was practically non existent, but others we spoke to said theirs was fine so it may just have been our room. However, in the main, the hotel was so warm. I couldn't stand to sit on the PVC seats in the lounge on an evening as the heat was uncomfortable. Perhaps another money saving strategy...
There is also no ice cream for the kids during the day, I get the impression this too may be a cut back as the freezers remain at the pizzeria but ice cream is only available in the restaurant at lunch and dinner.
We were just glad to get a holiday, the staff can't be faulted, the hotel is clean and comfortable, food is good but the cut backs (likely due to Covid) have marred the experience. Made the most of our stay but probably wouldn't hurry back.

+1
At last weāve been able to get away on a last minute break but still not being able to leave COVID behind completely, but itās been lovely. Of course nothing is ever perfect and this visit has been no different.
We stayed at the Globales Pionero hotel, which is the sister hotel of the Santa Ponca Park which is basically the same complex divided by two swimming pools.
On arrival we were checked in very quickly and efficiently. It was about 2.45 pm and there wasnāt a sun bed to be had, a bad omen I thought of what was to come.
I awoke early on the Sunday morning and took a walk downstairs while the rest of the family were still sleeping. And there was a queue already formed for the sun bedās great I thought, a great week this is going to be, and thatās how it was every day of the holiday, queuing at 7.00 am and waiting until they opened the doors to the pool area at 8.00 am, itās been a while since weāve been back to Mallorca and itās disappointing to see that things like this havenāt changed. We had two more adults and two young grandchildren so we needed an umbrella and beds by the pool and unfortunately this was the only way. Mask wearing in the hotel is a requirement until youāre outside, unless youāre going for a drink, then itās time to don the mask again at the bar. Another covid measure was that you are given plastic cups when you check in, and if you want a drink you have to have them, they are changed each time you order. Another irritating point at the bar is that you can only have three drinks at a time, so for the six of us, two at a time at the bar. At night this was further complicated by having to queue again for drinks. The problem is there is not enough staff, there are no waiter services. There are not enough sun beds to cope with both hotels and at times things do become heated and tempers frayed. The restaurant is very clean the food is a little repetitive. The staff at the hotel are very polite and I would give an additional mention to Maria and Sene at the bar and for Esther who books you into the restaurant. I canāt help thinking the the Spanish have never quite grasped the āall inclusiveā idea
This hotel is given three and a half stars and falls short on a number of points, but donāt let me put you off, despite theirs we had a good time and overall enjoyed our stay.
Santa Ponca is a lovely resort with plenty to do for all ages and all interests a very relaxing resort.

We are a young couple of 60 ish and were changed from Pala Nova two days before travelling during the mad rush as Spain went green for Covid. The hotel is a short one block walk from the beautiful beach and the Covid testing centre and large supermarket/ tobacco shop on the same block.
We were greeted by friendly welcoming staff who went above and beyond, printing QR codes and even gave us a curtesy room to shower after vacating our room with a late flight home.
The food was in abundance all day with good choices of meats, fish, pasta, salads and sides, the desserts were lovely and presented prettily. Lunch was the same. Snacks were freshly made pizza, burgers, hot dogs, meats, cheeses, breads and pastries. Toasties made whilst you watch. Fruit and salads, ice lollies and little ice cream pots.
Before complaining about food not being piping hot remember for health and hygiene food has to be kept at a certain temperature. The chef cooks meats and fish in your full view. Also if you have a special diet check before you go.
The room faced the back over the air con system, but hey we asked for a low floor, it was big enough and cleaned daily with fresh towels and a lovely walk in shower.
Entertainment for children at night is the usual kiddies dances. There were lots joining in. Adults are entertained by singers, quiz nights etc. We are choosy with our music but thought the show time entertainers good and adults were dancing.
All of the staff were helpful and friendly and the pool areas along with the hotel were spotless. There are hydraulic chairs and lifeguards at the pools who helped my husband into the pool. I really enjoyed the aqua aerobics twice a day for added fun.
Sun beds tend to be claimed by early risers but there are extra sun terraces up a few steps which we found manageable even with popping down for drinks often.
The resort is quiter than we're used to but has a few lovely bars and restaurants and children's little rides with a few shops selling the usual wares. If you want more shops a taxi to Palma Nova or Magaluf is around 7.75 Euros and only ten minutes drive.
We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff deserve credit for their hard work during the first mad rush of full tourism.
Thank you for a lovely stay!

The hotel does not deserve the stars. From the day we arrived, we had a booking in Sister hotel Santa Ponsa Park and were put in Pionero (at the reception it took us at least 20min to get a room, at 11pm). First, we were forced to buy plastic cups to get drinks (1ā¬ per cup). Even with another reusable cup, not bought in the hotel, they refused to serve me. The water in the machine is disgusting, water from the sink. When I asked for a bottle of water, they wanted to charge me 2ā¬ for 50 cl while we booked for all-in. On my last night, after 10 days, they refused to serve me because I had a white bracelet, like my mom, and the staff claimed I needed a blue one because mine was for children. 1 min later my mom went and got what we wanted. The towels for the pool are supposed to be changed after 7 days (imagine the smell after even 4 days being wet and dried in the sun) but after 7 days, no new towels in sight.
If you want to go to the beach without lying on the sand, make sure you have an extra budget because it will cost you 13 euros a day for 2.
About the food, you should also take extra pocket money if you want to eat decent and warm food. There is no choice (potatoes fish and porc at every meal) and 99% of it is served cold, whether you go eat early or late. After 10 days I'm still looking for snacks (in my opinion, hamburgers and egg rolls are not the most appropriate snack at 4 or 5). The hotel is understaffed, be it for a drink or in the restaurant, there are always lines. The few staff that is working is rude, except for 2 or 3 in the restaurant. I do not recommend this hotel and would rather have saved my money for a pool in my garden which would have been a better service than the one we got.

Dear Kelly, We appreciate the time you spent writing about your experience in our hotel. We are sorry to see that we did not met your expectations and apologies for any inconvenience you may had. Our staff works very hard to offer a good service and we offer a huge variety of meals and drinks and in overall people is quite satisfied, so we don't really understand what happened. We are continuously working on to get up to the standards that everyone aims for although it is already of a high quality, in any case we have taken a good note of your comments and we will investigate them in order to improve our hotel. Once again, many thanks for your time and hopefully your recent experience will not impede you to visit any other Globales Hotel in the future. Regards from Santa Ponsa Globales Quality Manager

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. We didn't really care if the hotel is 3 star or 4 star, because it is still significantly cheaper than a 4 star one. But it is a bit misleading.
The hotel is fine, we had only breakfast included which was average and didn't get a chance to visit the pool as it has been full all the time, so we went to the beach instead.
Rooms were very clean, cleaners worked there every day, just make sure you put the sign outside your room if you don't want to be disturbed at 10 am. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
The only thing I didn't like and wasn't prepared for is the bathroom door which is like a shower door rather than a proper door separating bathroom and the room itself.
Location is great, 5 min to the beach, plenty of restaurants nearby. 5 min away from the bus stop which can get you to the airport or palma easy.
There is also car rental right outside of the hotel, which was super convenient.
I rate this hotel average , cause it is average, nothing surpassed our expectations but also nothing bad happened.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for sending us your feedback about our Hotel. We appreciate very much your remarks and your comments about our good location, service, and the kindness of our staff. In the Globales Pionero complex we have more than 500 sun loungers, distributed between the buildings of Pionero, Santa Ponsa Park and Playa Santa Ponsa. This means that we have sun loungers available practically all day long. We thank you for your kind comments and hope to see you again at any of our Globales hotels in the near future. Best regards. Lovely hotel with great staff. Some of the reviews on here arenāt great however We had no issues, check in was quick and easy. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels. Loved the wee fridge in the room. Air con isnāt the best but ours worked and we left one key in so it was on constantly which seemed to help. You are issued with a plastic cup on arrival which you use to get drinks up until 7pm. We liked the idea, and they changed them regularly at the bar.
The pool area is busy however we didnāt struggle to get a sun-bed, there is two roof top terraces and you can use the pool area at hotel over the road. We personally didnāt like the new sun-beds didnāt find them comfortable and they tipped easily if you sat to near the end. That was our person choice though. The ladies at the pool bar were always smiling.
Food is slightly repetitive but I find thatās the case with most all inclusive, we always found something to eat. Breakfast was good and loved the fresh omelettes. Pizzeria snack bar is great for snacks and open late.
The hotel is in a great location, beautiful beach at the end of the road and lots of shops, bars and places to eat. Santa ponsa is a lovely place.
All in all we had an amazing holiday at a fantastic hotel with great staff for a good price. Donāt let the reviews put you off.we have booked again for next year and would recommend.

My husband and I have just returned after a 10-day holiday at Globales Pionero, we booked via TUI who were amazing from the moment we booked till the time we returned home and all in all great value for money. The app and having TUI staff on site were a great advantage.
We were greeted at reception by Oliver who helped us check in and informed us of everything the hotel had to offer from the times for the restaurant, pizzeria, and drinks to when the pool opened and how the plastic cups worked during the day.
The hotel was extremely clean, we saw the cleaners daily around the hotel grounds and pool. Our room was cleaned on a daily basis with fresh towels everyday and our bed made. We had a twin room with a balcony with great views, I must admit we were lucky as not all balconies seemed to have a view. The room was a good size with everything we needed, including A/C. We had to hire a kettle as we do like a cuppa when we wake up but for Ā£13.00 for the duration of our holiday, we didnāt think it was that bad.
Food was available throughout the day; Breakfast had a great variety from cereal, yoghurts, fresh fruit, continental meats, danishes and hot food. The pizzeria, which is situated close to the pools, opened from 11am till 6pm and then again 10pm till 12pm you could snack as much as you wanted from hotdogs, burgers, chips to toasted sandwiches and more fresh fruit. Lunch was served in restaurant between 1and3pm and then dinner from 6:45pm with again a good selection of hot and cold food and a choice of desserts It could get a bit repetitive but delicious.
The plastic cups were a good idea and to be used outside when the pool was open which protected peopleās feet especially little ones running around. There were a great variety of drinks too from soft drinks to beer, spirits, wine, cava, sangria, and a selection of cocktails. Water was always available all day but would have been handy to have a couple of water stations.
There was entertainment during the afternoon around the pool and they had a children club at the start of the evening with bingo and then entertainment to finish the night. Ian, Zsofia and the rest of the entertainment team all work really hard and someone was always available to help should you require it. They made sure everyone was enjoying themselves and they engaged and form relationships with the children.
The beach is a short walk away and there are lots of shops, bars, and restaurants to choose from should you want a change and great walks. There is night live locally after the entertainment has finished and the only disadvantage to the holiday was you could hear people walking through the corridors late at night, the walls are very thin!!
Overall we did love the holiday and would happily go back to Santa Ponsa.
We were greeted at reception by Oliver who helped us check in and informed us of everything the hotel had to offer from the times for the restaurant, pizzeria, and drinks to when the pool opened and how the plastic cups worked during the day.

Just got back from a week's all inclusive... last time I go all-inclusive to Spain. The food was quite good although a bit repetitive but you expect that anyway. I did like how desserts are portioned into little dishes or bowls made life easier.
The drinks were OK. Wasn't keen on the Lager but was passable. Staff all very friendly. Met some lovely people while staying here. What I didn't like was hiw people were up at 7.30 am (fools) queuing to get sunbeds!!! The doors were locked and the cleaners cleaned the pools (an army of them) THEN at 8 o'clock they open the door its like a swarm that comes through the doors. By 8.10 there's no beds everyone has a towel. So unless you're up and queuing no chance of a bed. People you're on holiday fgs!!!!! You couldn't even get a table and chair. We never once sat at the pool went to the beach every day . This is the 2nd Globales seems to be the same at them all . Pools are to small and not enough beds. For that reason we won't be returning to this hotel. If you're willing to get up early then go for it. Its in a good place very clean and comfortable. Our bathroom was a little compact but we managed fine.

As a family of 6 adults, we wanted a week, all inclusive, in a central hotel, and this hotel worked for our requirements, although it may not be for everyone.
We originally booked the suneo, but requested the pionero after reading a few reviews on here.
Check in was really smooth and quick, and the e mail I sent 2 weeks previously requesting a low floor was honoured. We stayed in room 127, which was spotlessly clean. Housekeeping attend every day to make beds and change towels if needed. There is no lock on the bathroom door, and the door is frosted glass. The room has adequate storage space, and a small fridge. You can fit a few 2L bottles of water in, and thats about it.
The food was plentiful and always varied. there are 2 cooking stations, the main one to the right when you walk into the restaurant, then another one (mainly vegetarian) in the bottom corner along from all the ice cream.
The pizzas are lovely! My only criticism is that the food could be a bit warmer. On our last day, we went to the restaurant at 6AM expecting a continental breakfast, but all of the hot food was already available, which was a good thing for us, but will have to be sat for a while until the main service starts.
The pool area is busy, and sunbeds are first come first serve round the pool. We tended to stick to the sun terraces, and never struggled to find a bed. We did go for a look at the hotel across the road, and noticed that they had lots of sunbeds piled up not in use. It would be nice to see some more beds brought to the sun terraces for guests to use as alot of people had to sit at the tables and chairs round the pizza/pool bar.
On check in you are handed a plastic cup for your drinks round the pool. It is only by the pool you need them, as there are glasses available in the restaurant and the bars on an evening. I do like this idea, it kept the pool areas clean, and encouraged people to tidy up after themselves.
The daily activities and evening entertainment are advertised on the boards in reception of both hotels, but we preferred to sit and chat on an evening or go out.
The hotel is really central, the beach is at the end of the street, with the marina to the left and "the strip" located at the roundabout to the left and right.
