Nothing special. The reception was always cold and not really helpful. Only great thing about this hotel was Robs gym downstairs who always welcomed people with a great smile. The room was average, view was nice. Premium wifi was very good. Maybe not worth the money, there is definitely better options out there.

Improved from 2 years back when breakfast was then poor but now excellent. Floors are clean with gleaming marble tiles. Two excellent pools with lots of seats. Its in the quiet section of Benal but no problem for that. I found the Hapenny bridge a very good quality restaurant nearby. There is a supermarket across the road.

This hotel was supposed to be a massive treat for us for the last 10 days of extended travels around Spain and the Spanish islands. We thought we were saving the best til last. It turned out to be the worst part of our travels. And the biggest regret. Firstly, the pool was absolutely horrible. So crowded you could barely enter the water without sandwiching yourself armpit to armpit between sweaty people. Not exactly COVID secure, but yet security pounced on you if you walked 2 metres into the hotel without a face mask. Either have social distancing rules or don’t… Not enough sun loungers so if you arrive at the pool more than 10 minutes after it opens, forget it. Very limited choice of food. Wifi was unusable in the rooms. May as well not have offered it. But all those things were minor compared to what I REALLY hated about this hotel - the noise. Non stop, all day and all night. We are a family who like to be able to sleep between the hours of 11pm and 7am. And hotels should be able to provide an environment where it is possible to do this…ESPECIALLY for the price we paid. But night after night after night there were large groups of people shouting, running up and down the corridors, kids screaming, ringing in doorbells until 2, 3, 4am. The walls between apartments are paper thin so parties in neighbouring apartments were heard throughout the night. I did not sleep for 10 nights. Every morning we would find that people had dropped cigarette butts outside our door and all down the corridor. We complained about the noise and moved rooms which didn’t help, as from the sounds of the other reviews on here it was a problem wherever you were. The mini club was, as someone else said, just paper and crayons. And drawing competitions everyday which the older children obviously won repeatedly, leaving my 5 year old daughter disheartened every day because she had lost the drawing competition AGAIN to someone more than twice her age. I would have been willing to put up with all of this if it was a cheap 2 star hotel. But for £1500 and claiming to be a 4 star hotel, this was the worst holiday of my life.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review; I'm just really sorry that your stay did not live up to expectations. At this time of the year (August), occupancy is higher with more guests using the pool and more demand for sunbeds. Usually during the summer months we have a pool attendant who will remove unattended towels but due to covid and staff shortages this was not possible this time round. Regarding the noise, we do our very best to police this but don't hesitate to ask for Security to investigate if the issue gets out of hand. Whilst I can understand that the noise experienced will have been distressing for you, I sincerely hope that during your stay with us, you managed to enjoy some peace and quiet. Once again it has been the covid restrictions that have limited certain services and facilities, including our animation. Whilst activities were limited to a younger age group there were many different activities all week including: videogames, bowling, arts & crafts, and painting. Upon arrival, guests with children will be handed an activity programme with the timetable, I can only apologise if you did not receive one. I understand that you have been put off returning to Sunset Beach Club, I really hope you'll give us the opportunity to change your perception in a future visit. If you do decide to return, please let me know in advance and I promise to do my best to ensure you are allocated a quieter apartment. My apologies once again for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards, Tom Marshall – Guest Services.

I am generally very generous when it comes to rating and the only reason this facility scored a 3 is because of the number of people allowed to stay in that hotel at the same time. This obviously reflected on the quality of services, the queues for absolutely everything!! If you dare to come 2 minutes late, you would have no seating anywhere in the swimming pool area. The lift was a disaster obviously and We even had to pay to get keys for the safe in our room!! Their car park was also used by the public (paid) and so we struggled to park our rented car every single day!! I wasn’t even asked if I had a pleasant stay during my check out, so after queuing for half an hour, I was just asked to drop the keys in the basket!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I'm just really sorry that your experience with us failed to live up to expectations. August is our busiest month and the hotel has been practically full all month. With Covid restrictions regarding the maximum number of people allowed in lifts at any one time, wait times have increased and we apologise for the frustration this has caused. I'm also sorry that the Receptionist that checked you out didn't ask whether you enjoyed your stay... this is something they are encouraged to do as it's very important for us to know whether guests have enjoyed their holiday with us. I only hope you'll give us an opportunity to redeem ourselves by returning for another visit in the near future. Kind regards, Justin Thompson Community Manager
