THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED WHILST THE HOTEL WAS OBSERVING COVID RESTRICTIONS SO MAY NOT NECESSARILY REFLECT WHAT ITS LIKE WHEN "NORMALITY" RETURNS. Wifey and I have just returned from a 10 night all inclusive stay at this hotel, booked through British Airways. I have to say that we have had a great time here and the hotel deserves a detailed review as follows. Location. The hotel is located about three miles west of the Marina at Benalmadena. If you want to be in the heart of the action then this hotel is not for you. It is right on the coast with every room having a sea view. There are a handful or so of restaurants within about 10 minutes walk (Although we did not try any of them.) There's also a very good supermarket (Arkwrights!) literally just down the hill where you can get a 5 litre bottle of water for 99 cents. If you have a car you can park at the hotel for €9.00 a night but to be honest during our stay there was ample free on street parking right outside and opposite the hotel. Sat Nav gave plenty of different ways of getting there dependant on traffic and your direction of approach. The Room We had a room that was marketed as a "Deluxe Double with Sea View" by BA. We were on the fifth floor on the eastern side and looked out over the beach of Playa Bonita and were directly above the area of the adult pool. I did hear someone say they were on the third floor and that their view was partly blocked by the trees planted around the site. The room was light and airy but also had excellent black out curtains if you wanted to shut out the light at night. The 'double' was two wide single beds pushed together. (See photos) The mattresses were firm but comfortable and the pillows just about right for the beds. There was air con but we did not use it choosing to keep the door to the balcony on the latch (Turn the handle all the way up and the door leans back) overnight which kept the room at a pleasant temperature and had the added bonus that we could hear the sea. For the geeky there were 4 5V USB sockets and a number of spare power outlets so keeping devices charged should not be an issue. Built in wardrobes took care of all our belongings and a free safe was a nice touch as well. There is a fridge and a good size TV in the room although very few English channels available. The bathroom was a touch small and the shower was a little disappointing. The 'Monsoon' head appeared to have very little power and the other head was not much better. In our room, and I suspect a number of others, there was a minor design flaw in that to the side of the bath by the wall there was a flat tiled area in which water accumulated as you showered. This water could then make its way under the sink area and eventually the floor. Depending on which member of housekeeping you had you might find a towel strategically placed to soak up the water. Food and Drink In the 10 days we were there we never struggled to find something to eat. Some reviewers have complained that the food was always the same and, quite frankly, this is not the case. Every night there was something different on the menu as a main course and there was always the fallback of the 'show cooking' if you fancied something plainer. It is fair to say that sometimes the mains lacked a little flavour as did some of the cakes on the sweet trolly but then, in our experience, this is nothing unusual for an 'All Inclusive' hotel. The chefs have to do their best with what they have and these chefs try really hard. I have seen some reviewers complain that there is nothing for those on a restricted diet. I would say to that just tell the chefs that you have a dietary issue and they will do their best to accommodate you. We saw people having special meals prepared for them on a number of occasions. Almost all drinks are included on the 'All Inclusive' deal with the only exceptions being some premium brands or special cocktails like an Espresso Martini. The Nix Sky Bar is not included but you do get a 50% discount on drinks up there. Facilities There are two pools at the hotel. One, adults only to the east side and a family pool to the west a short walk from the main complex. The adult pool was the only one we tried and it was a tad chilly at 8°C. The area around the adult pool has a number of sunbeds and this is supposed to be adults only as well. There is a mini golf course and table tennis table plus a kids club (our kid is all grown up). Three bars are available from 11am for all guests plus the Nix Sky Bar (Evenings only and not included for 'All inclusive) which is only open at certain times based upon occupancy. There is also an 'A la carte' restaurant which all inclusive guests can use once during their stay for free but when we visited this was only open for lunch rather than dinner. We didn't go to see any of the entertainment as it didn't start until 2145 most nights so it would be unfair to comment on that. There is a spa and a gym with a couple of running machines, cross trainer and a few bits of other equipment as well. The Staff The staff at the hotel have been brilliant from the housekeepers to check in staff and all the waiters/waitresses and bar staff. They always do their best to help and were always quick to praise my often abysmal attempts at speaking Spanish. I cannot praise them highly enough. Odds and Sods As I mentioned the hotel is about 3 miles (5K) from the Marina. Its an easy walk there and you can bus back for around €1.55 It saves taking a car and means you can have a drink or two. If you want to visit Malaga go by train. Torremuelle Station is around 10 minutes walk away and the train takes you to Malaga Central. Adult return is around €5.50 and very good value. DON'T TAKE A CAR INTO MALAGA. If you are a runner then bear in mind that the hotel is at the top of a long incline from both sides but a morning run can be quite rewarding with the sunrise. The Challenge During our stay there was a small black cat that hung around the adults only sunbed area. We christened her Elsie (LC for Little Cat) and once you gained her trust she would let you stroke her and she was surprisingly affectionate despite the occasional playful nip. If you see her and make friends with her please mention her in your review as she really is a lovely little thing.

Hotel was a lot better than expected, great food , drink and hospitality. We had the most relaxing holiday catching the last of the sun for the season, the staff were amazing and friendly and catered to every need , especially phillipe the barman who always gave us a laugh and made us feel comfortable . The restraint has great food and we even seen dolphins while eating breakfast looking over the coast , can’t wait to come back
