I was disappointed to find that the hotel did not live up to its promise of a 4 star. It was definitely lacking a certain "je nas ce qoi". The room was quaint but didn't have any amenities or extra pillows and the blanket in the cupboard smelt like dog. The towels were stained and the beds were two singles... More

Nice small independent houses climbing over a hill, with plenty of charming passageways and a sure fun for children. Some rooms too close to the oil-powered hot water generator, with occasional exhaust smell. Very quiet in the night, and the Sardinian breeze will make AC optional for some. You need a car not because the beach is really far, but... More

On the entrance of the resort , you see a big stone with 4 stars painted on it. Well this is surely a nice resort hotel but is far from being a 4 star. We can say is a 3 star. The trademark and best feature of this hotel is the fact that all rooms are like small flats all... More

Simple but nice Sardinian style rooms, good and fresh breakfast, close by Palau (shopping) and Porto Rafael, 30 minutes driving from Costa Smeralda, 10 minutes fromn Porto Pollo (water sports). Reception service is average, restaurant service good and professional.

The hotel was at first a quaint surprise compared to the usual white high rise hotels found in other countries. The room was basic but clean and tidy with 2 rooms for 2 people but spacious enough. On the plus side: The staff were lovely and helpful No mosquitoes, wasn't bitten at all Good shuttle hotel minibus to Palau The... More

This hotel dates from the 1980s and looks as if it was never really finished. At the top of the site there is a dumped car and builders materials left in the bushes. The gardens are untended and it all looks uncared for. Maybe it was the end of the season but it looked as if it had been like... More

The location was perfect for our family beach holiday. We had a car so access to Palau was easy. Palau was full of restaurants and a perfect base to explore the islands. The nearest beach was only 300m walk from the hotel along a path through the bush. The family room (105) had a great view overlooking the bay and... More

North Sardinia is a beautiful place but I hope this write up persuades anyone to visit without staying at the Hotel Altura because it is so very awful (ORRIBILE). In fact Hotel Altura is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at by far. The phrase ‘What do you expect it is the end of the season’ seemed to be... More

We had great views from our patio to the sea and to the mountains. The room was clean but basic. We made daily use of the fridge provided. We found the quality of the food varied from day to day. Fish good. Pasta bland. Portions huge. Staff friendly .Never found the bar open when we wanted a drink! Missing a... More
