After seeing all the reviews on booking.com, we decided to book a room here. It seems like the reviews were fabricated, i can't see it any other way. Poor cleanliness all over the areas, they are not even hoovering the stairs. The breakfast was a joke. Almost no food, and the sausages leftover were stonecold. The breakfast girl totally disaster. She was not nice at all, i think she hates customers, where is all that staff friendliness everyone is high rating on booking? Only Janos from reception has tried to be nice and helpfull. The building is only nice from the outside, put with a bit of an effort into cleaning and customer service so the guests could see at least you are trying.

Small butiq hotel with lovely interior and friendly staff. The breakfast is satisfying and the menu of its restaurant is superb! The staff knows very well what customer service is even if they are busy. Loved its Spa as well (small but every single part of it is high quality) they offer to use for free of charge once you’ve checked in. Nice job guys! Keep up the good work!

I stayed at this hotel with friends as it was close to the spa we were visiting. Really enjoyed my stay, lovely decor and very quiet. The rooms were clean and very large. We had a duplex room with another large bedroom upstairs, with a small table with two chairs and TV in each. Rooms also had air conditioning. Good sized shower/toilet room downstairs The hotel has a restaurant and pub. The menu had traditional and international dishes which I found to be very tasty. There was also a little section that sold cookies and cakes all which looked great. Lovely decking area outside the pub which you can use to have your meal or a drink. In addition, the Nelson has a wellness centre where there is a jacuzzi, Finnish sauna and an infrared sauna on the top floor which is part of the price. Excellent. Overall, top venue, would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here with the entire family, and really liked it. Nice rooms, nice atmosphere, and a little away from the hustle and bustle of the spa, and a lot more reasonably priced. Real value for money. Warmly recommended from our side.

Me and my family has stayed in this hotel for two nights. I booked it on their own website which offered the best price ever plus 5% discount. So it is worth booking there! The hotel is situated in the heart of the city, there is a supermarket and other shopsas well nearby, but it takes about 10 mins walk to the main entrance of the spa. This is not exhausting at all, can be pleasant in the mornings and in the evenings. Unfortunately there is a church next to the hotel, and the bells can be a bit disturbing. We stayed in a duplex family room which was really cosy and its style was quite romantic, like a journey back to Nelson’s time. The room was clean and spacious. There is no elevator but there it is only a two-storey building. The stairs in the rooms are made of wood that make terrible noise while walking up and down but it is the only negative thing I can say about the room. Half-board consists of a delicious buffet breakfast and an a la carte main meal (can be lunch or dinner) and this is what I really admired! There has been three courses: starter, main course and dessert. Everything has been perfect! We were totally full after the starter :) We have also tried the wellness department of the hotel. It has a jacuzzi, a massage chair, an infrared sauna and a Finnish sauna with showers. As we visited in summer, the wellness section was like a private place because all the other guests had gone to the spa and beach. Lucky us ;) All in all, I can recommend this hotel to everyone. The receptionist, the waiters and the cleaning women are friendly and helpful.

It's nice, cozy hotel with small, old style rooms. The room was clean and comfortable. The stuff was frinedly and we got a little present for Christmas from them. The wellness part is small and cozy, but the size of it fits to the hotel, so it wasn't crowded.

We (two families) spent there a whole week in family rooms. A flat consists of two rooms (one upstairs) and a bathroom. They are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The wooden stairs to the upper room are very noisy. There are two separate air conditioners that help a lot as the rooms are practically in the attic. The hotel is a bit out of the main area of the town but that makes its environment calm. The spa can be reached in about ten minutes. In the morning you'd better close the windows as the church's bells are loud. The breakfast's choices are somehow limited, could be improved. The restaurant and the confectionary are very good though.

The Nelson hotel is very original. It has a very old style feel to it. Without being old fashioned. The rooms are large, sometimes you get a room with a stairs to your bed. I don't know why, but Hungarian people seem to like a high temperature. I had to open the window to get it acceptable. Bathroom is good. Breakfast is a small buffet with a menu to order hot food. I had diner at the hotel. The hot chicken soup is very good. Other dishes are what you can expect from this kind of hotel (good but not great). I had a very nice stay.

Located in a quiet area, the hotel offers excellent facilities. Check-in very quickly with the presentation rooms, exemplary cleaning, restaurant, cafeteria and terrace, all in an ambience reminiscent of Admiral Horatio Nelson. Rooms are large, well-maintained furniture, bathroom, safe, minibar surcharge, satellite TV, air conditioning and carpeted floors are cleaned daily. Restaurant, cafeteria and bar area are very nicely decorated. Breakfast served in buffet is absolutely normal enough and with a variety of products. You can serve ice cream and delicious cakes surcharge plus a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The staff is very helpful and discreet, ready to serve customers and provide useful information. It can reasonably communicate in English. On the top floor there is a sitting area with jacuzzi, sauna, massage chair after a day of perfect beach. There is also a massage room, paid service that can benefit upon request. Hungarospa pool complex is 15 minutes away, a chance for a relaxing stroll morning and evening. The city is clean and friendly with tourists. We will definitely return here.
