Having spent a wonderful night 10;years ago, we went out of our way to visit here again this trip, not a good idea! We were put in new wing of rooms, up a very steep stairs into a room that was not great. The mini-bar fridge door wouldn’t close once you opened it. The shower head was broken, just sloppy things that weren’t being maintained. The Greek Restaurant which we loved last time was awful, the waiter was grumpy although he did soften towards end of the evening. Everything we were served was poor. I ordered Tsaziki to start which came in a large soup plate served with chunks of bread😱 instead of Pitta bread. My next course was inedible, maybe one should hold on to the happy memories and not try to repeat them. Never ever again.

This quirky hotel is three hours thirty minutes from the port of Dunkirk just off the E40 motorway.so just right for a break if you are travelling towards Austria or Northern Italy. Our comfortable room was airy ,large and clean.the Greek connection is everywhere.in the decor in the wine list and most of all in a very good menu .we dined ,drank and slept well and after a good if simple breakfast.we were back on the road south. .

Cheap as chips, really: E70 for a night's stay for two, including a very decent breakfast. The walk from Eschweiler's Western Station reasonable (one wouldn't have wished it longer), the room comfortable and well-equipped, the shower-bath LUXURIOUS, yes capital letters LUXURIOUS. Quiet and clean room and hallways, and friendly front-desk people. A restaurant with good food right downstairs. But... only a cable connection, and I have a Mac, and modern computers have no cable ports. They use WiFi. A worm in the apple, then. With WiFi, they'd be my favourite Dreilaender-Eck hotel, no question, certainly several cuts above the Aachen IBIS.

I stayed here on the way back from Cologne and chose it due to being convenient for A4 motorway and advertising free internet access. Arrival at reception showed some disorganisation as it was not clear whether they actually had my booking or knew how to find it on their computer. The hotel describes itself as having cosy bedrooms - my room was very basically furnished and could nt be described as cosy, although it was adequate and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a good shower and was clean. My main issue was the problem with internet access - I had intended to do some work when I arrived and could not get access to the internet via a cable in the room or WiFi. To be fair, the staff tried to resolve the issue, but due to their lack of english & no technical knowledge, were unable to. The hotel restaurant serves a variety of Greek & German food and the service and food was good. All in all, the staff were very friendly and helpul, but as is often the case with privately run hotels in this price bracket, the overall experience falls short of the expectation you get from the description!
