Hotel Terminus Mont Blanc in St Gervais Le Fayet is wonderfully situated in the heart of the French Alps. The hotel is modern and well appointed throughout and is opposite the entrance to the Thermal Spa and Gardens and only a two minute walk from the bus and train stations. The hotel is an ideal base to from which to explore the Chamonix Valley. Geneva and Annecy are only an hours drive away.

Detailed Reviews
Went here with my son for a weeks skiing and was very pleased. It is not in the best situation for the slopes but the hotel offers a minibus transfer to and from the gondola morning and late afternoon. There is also a free local bus if the hotel's minibus does not suit your times. The town is easy walking distance away but there is no night life - in fact the town itself was extremely quiet and there were very few places to stop for a coffee so definitely not a place for non-skiers. The hotel is typically French when it comes to the rooms, small with very little storage space. However, the service was very good, the staff always cheerful and helpful, the rooms are kept clean and tidy, the food wholesome and plentiful (although a bit anglicised for my taste) and the wine flowed freely. A good place for skiers, not so for others!

Response from Mountain Lodge, General Manager at Hotel Terminus Mont-Blanc
Responded Jun 2, 2023
Many thanks for your great review David We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Terminus. We do believe that the hotel is situated brilliantly for non-skiiers as there are so many walking trails and the local transport (buses, trains etc.) gives you access to so many places including Geneva, Annecy, Chamonix, Megeve etc. Maybe you could try the hotel l'Aigle in Valmeinier next time as it is doorstep skiing and hopefully you will enjoy the same great service from our staff. Hope to see you there and thanks again for the review! Kind regards

I stayed at the hotel at the start of Tour Mont Blanc hiking. The hotel is really basic but the room is quite comfortable. It's close to the train station and Tramway du Mont Blanc station. It's on the main road of the town so it could be noisy during the day.
I only stayed here for one night so I didn't really have complaints. The staff was all courteous. They have maintained good quality of cleanliness.

I guss this used to be a very posh hotel, but that seems to be a while ago. The interior looks outdated. Breakfast is ok but no more. Staff is very helpful and they have a nice common seating area. Located on 2 min walk from the train station. No restaurant inside, but the have some decent restaurants in walking distance.

My husband and I visited the hotel 48hours after France had reopened for tourists. We were given 5*treatment as the staff could not do enough for us. The food was superb and the bar area is very nice. The hotel bedrooms are relatively small and dated however all have ensuite bathrooms with lots of hot water.
We were there for the skiing and hired our skis from the convenient and well equipped boot room. The staff are very professional and helpful. You do need to use the courtesy hotel minibus to get to the slopes but it is only a 10 minute ride and you pick it up immediately outside the hotel and they also bring you back. This hotel provides social Skiing which means one of staff will introduce you to the area.

I stay a few nights 3 or 4 times a year when I'm running training courses. It's a great location for us, close to the autoroute and rail station, and Chamonix is close by.
The staff are great, always a nice cheerful welcome and super service.
As we come out of the pandemic the precautions they're are reasonable and cautious without being oppressive.

I have visited this hotel on a number of ocassions and although the property is basic it suits my needs as a skiier.
This year I booked my holiday with Snowcoach and COVID happened. The holiday was cancelled and I was refused a refund or a chance to rebook. The owner decided they had aready paid out and I should take it up with my holiday insurance. Not sure this is legal!

Just got back from another holiday with Snowcoach at Hotel Terminus. New staff for the season including another excellent chef. Hotel has a had a big refurbishment which looks good. Also 3 x mini-buses on site to ferry clients to the slopes 10 x minutes away; so no queuing first thing in the morning. All staff very knowledgeable about location and ski area. You can stay at Hotel Terminus for any number of days, not just the usual Sat/Sun to next Sat/Sun. Come by Snowcoach's coach or fly out to Geneva and get picked up by Hotel staff. Thoroughly recommend a ski holiday with Snowcoach at this hotel.

Thank you for your review of Hotel Terminus and Snowcoach. We are delighted that you enjoyed your holiday. We have had an extensive refurbishment of the hotel and we think it looks just great. It is also operating with a new team of enthusiastic staff. St Gervais is a fantastic ski area with a huge variety of runs - we look forward to seeing you back! The team at the Terminus

I have just returned from my fourth visit to this hotel and it gets better every year. It is the location for Snowcoach holidays which is probably the best value ski trip you'll find anywhere. The hotel is a 2* budget hotel but the rooms, although small and a bit shabby, are warm, have comfortable beds, UK TV and plenty of storage. The stylish public areas are where everyone socialises and where evening entertainment happens in the form of quizzes and party games but you don't have to participate if you'd rather have a quiet drink. The chef at the time made excellent food. Everyone sits at refectory tables so it's very social. The young staff are lovely and very helpful. There's social skiing within the new French law so if you are a single traveller you will have ski buddies. Ski lessons can be booked with the local ESF. The hotel operates shuttle buses to and from the slopes at both ends of the day, although local buses are fairly regular. Visits to other resorts on the lift pass are made a couple of times throughout the week at no extra cost. The area is lovely with very few snowboarders, an older clientele as the ski area is quite gentle. It is quite low, though, so late season snow quality can be an issue, having said that we had wall to wall sunshine for our 4 day break mid-March and perfect snow until early afternoon when it became rather soft. Other years it has been more like water-skiing at lower levels. There are negative reviews but this company has a level of repeat business that many others will be envious of. The coaches are modern and the 12 hour journey from Dover is reasonably comfortable with reclining seats, a film, an on-board wc and tea-making facilities but there are stops every 4 hours at a service station. Word of caution, Don't go expecting a 4 * hotel. It's a budget holiday.

We have just returned from a holiday at the Hotel Terminus , the hotel was spotlessly clean , the food was superb ( well done Andrew and all the Kitchen staff ) and the service from all the staff in the hotel was amazing ( people don't know how hard the staff work to make this hotel what it is ). All i can say is keep up the good work , have fun and see you next year !!

Yes that's right 15th visit in 9 years, different faces again this year working in the hotel, though good to see Stretch the bar man back.
As commented in previous posts this is a budget hotel, so those of you expecting Mark Warner, Virgin or any of the other major operators slick services & inflated prices, your wasting your cash!!
The minibus shuttle service to the lift station worked brilliantly, being only a 10 min drive max. I always made the 1st bus if the morning at 08:30 to spend the whole day on the mountain. Buses run on a regular shuttle in the morning & similar later in the afternoon, even collecting me when I rang the hotel after a short day & wanting to return early.
The rooms are compact, though functional with plenty hot water, the trick is to run a bath as soon as you get back, or wait until later in the evening as everyone is doing the same, just like home it takes time to Re-heat . Bedroom furniture hasn't changed at all though bed was comfortable & other furniture did the job it was supposed to do. TV in room worked ok when I watched it though I only checked the daily round up of the Olympics etc. I was on top floor, the lift was fully operational so no issues there.
The food was a daily set menu posted up early morning with alternatives if preferred. I only used the jacuzzi a couple of Occaisions, each time it was working fine.
Christine & her staff did a good job looking after us, all staff got on with their work & were friendly to guests, I've in particular worthy of a special mention, Lydia she was delightful, always happy smiling & welcoming, worked hard & never once did we hear her have a grumble etc.
The most important part of the holiday is the skiing, as you gather I love the area, a great combination and variety, being able to get above the tree line & have some fun in the trees with lots of off piste opportunities.
We organised ogre own transfers from Geneva with Peak transfers would recommend them without any hesitation.
Only downside is I can only manage 1 trip this year, but next year to look forward to!!!

Approx one hour but well worth the ride
20 minutes by car or 40 minutes on the local train - and the St Gervais Le Fayet is a 2 minute walk!
Bonjour Raymond,
En ce moment pendant la saison basse on ne fait pas le repas du soir mais il y as quelque restaurants aux alentours de l'hotel.
Cordialement,
