When I booked the room it states that you should discuss with the residence to arrange late check in. When I requested this after booking , it was refused and they also refused to refund my deposit. Easy way for them to make money so be warned. Even though they say that late check in can be arranged, it will be refused and you wont get any money back !! Very disappointing
We have just returned from another excellent stay at Emeraude, at Belle Plagne with our daughter, son in law and two grandchildren. This is our third year and we have enjoyed excellent snow, great instruction and skiing for all ages and abilities. The apartments are convenient, well equipped and with direct access to the ski slopes and start and finish of lessons. A great place for families.
We've been visiting Belle Plagne for 40 years, and we love it - The apartment in Emeraude is very basic, so don't expect 5* but we always have a fantastic holiday. Easy access to the slopes, good restaurants, ski hire. We think it is the best ski resort, purely for ease of access and vast ski area.
Great ski area but expensive on the eating and drinking. Self-catering is good though as pretty well-stocked Spar in the village. Accommodation basic but clean and reasonably priced. Use ski-cab transfers from Chambery - 1hr 45 mins - easy!
The location of Emeraude apartments is good, very close to Belle Plagne shops and restaurant's and very easy access from ski locker-room to ski slopes Loads of lifts with easy pass entry system , and free lifts and buses in the evening to the other village's in the La Plagne area
Across the season, like any resort, depending on snow conditions, things can get busy. Emeraude is a hub of quiet, close to the heart of Belle-Plagne. My complaint about overcrowding on the slopes relates only to the Christmas to New Year period where all lifts out of the Bellecote bowl become maddeningly long ... just stay high and avoid them at specific times: as ski schools take to the lifts first thing, and after lunch ... and later in the afternoon as skiers queue to get back to La Plagne Centre. Knowing the resort well I stay up at Roche de Mio, or down toward Montchavin or up on the glacier at busier times.
Once again a station in La Plagne has been ruined by overdevelopment; first Bellecote, now La Plagne. I felt like I had gone on holiday to a city centre. Skiing is an escape, not when you have to queue for everything ... even to take your first turn on a dangerously crowded piste.
