We stayed here with another couple for 5 nights in March. Check in was quite a lengthy process, you receive your towels and linen and everyone is checking in at the same time. The apartment itself was clean and suitable for our needs. There is not much room for storage, we had a 2 bedroom which was fine for 4 or us but would have been quite cramped if we had anyone sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge. The pool is lovely after a day on the slopes, looking out over the mountain and the sauna is another great bonus. Spa is a 5 min walk for any food and there are plenty of restaurants near by. Easy to get onto the slopes or the telebus lift takes you straight down to Plagne Centre. Check out was also slightly complicated as you needed to book an appointment but the reception isn't always manned and we struggled a bit with the language barrier! We would stay here again.…
It was a great apartment that was very spacious compared to other ski apartments. Also there is a slope very close to the building so from any apartment it's easy to get to. But, if you are tall the sofa bed isn't great, despite this, it's easy to get used to. Also, there wasn't an oven which is odd.
When skiing in France I expect small apartment. Well here I got a pleasant surprise, we got more than we expected for the price. And then the staff, some of them don't speak English, but the ones who do they sorted out everything we needed to have a great time. All reservations for activities, usually with some discount, were made from them. Sauna was hot, pool is a bit small for swimmers but big enough to relax muscles after all day of skiing. Shop is close, so is downtown. There is 2-3 minute walk, downhill, to begin skiing, but it is good to warm up before skiing anyway. :) When returning you can ski right to the doors.
Good basic apartment but definately not ski out as advertised and a bit of a chore if you've got kids in ski school uphill. No hairdryers. Had a broken bed for the week. Reliant on guests cleaning and could do with a good deep clean for likes of shower runners and skirting boards etc. Staff were lovely and helpful.
We've stayed at Aspen two years running and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The accommodation is good, the pool is clean and not too cold. It's not mega-luxurious but a darn sight better than other places we've stayed. However, there are things you can do/take to improve your experience: Pack * A couple of extra pillow cases. There are loads of pillows but only one case per person. * Washing up liquid, tea towels, a dishcloth and a handful of dishwasher tablets * WIPES i.e. household cleaning wipes. Even if you pay for 'end of stay cleaning' you are required to clean the kitchen, fridge, microwave and hob. Other things: *If you are going during peak season, bite the bullet and pay for underground parking - it's worth it. *CHECK THE RECEPTION OPENING HOURS - if you are likely to arrive after 8pm it will be closed so be sure to call ahead. *You will have to go outside in order to get to and from the swimming pool. The towels provided are not luxurious so, if you plan to swim a lot, take something to wrap up in. And with that, we wish you a very happy holiday!…
We booked via Sunweb and were in the 'extra' building which we had to go passed the ski lockers (on floor 2) and across a covered walkway and then down two flights of stairs which lacked up-keep. (no lift!) It was peaceful with a pleasant view of plagne center ski area; however Wifi was not available at all in the apartment and we could not be given any other room, even though other people had not yet arrived. My daughter had to study in the Reception! The apartment was advertised as 4/5 but the soft seating offered was only the double bed and so actually only 4 bed. There was a full size bath, plenty of cupboard space, but only 2 radiators (heaters) in the bedroom and lounge for drying. French but not luxury! Microwave/oven without any instructions however the kitchen area fairly well equipped. We could ski in via a closed piste/track to the ski lockers/apartment. The walk through the car park was treacherous with black ice some mornings but if you made it in one piece were on a blue run within 5 minutes of leaving. Although half term skiing the slopes and lifts were not too busy due to the vast area available.…
A very good apartment , plenty of space, very clean with reception and staff very very helpful. We arrived very early and were able to get to our apartment without any fuss at just after10am. This was very appreciated as we had struggled up the mountain in the snow storm-at least we made it , many others had 10hour journeys up the mountain! The residence is not ski out but a walk through the carpark and across the road is only 3mins to the slope to the Bergerie lift or a 10 min walk up the hill to plagne villages for a ski into plagne centre or a long drag lift to the top above bellecote . The pool and reception, the bread delivery ,the underground parking, the wifi in apartment at 20€ and the views make the residences a good base to ski the paradiski area.
I went here with a couple of friends for the second year in a row. The apartment and skiing was just terrific. I have just booked another week here in march 2014 as I long for the food, the views, the tranquility and the skiing of La Plagne.
This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. Our bathroom was filthy. It was cold in our room and in the swimming pool. Some staff members were very rude. Also, you can ski in but not out (so you will have to carry your skis up the mountain). The hotel makes money from final cleaning. We vacuum cleaned our apartment and washed the floor but the hotel staff were not happy. We called the Crystal Ski representative who confirmed that the apartment was clean. We are still in dispute with the hotel over the credit card charge for the final cleaning. Do not stay in this hotel unless you want it to ruin your holidays, especially on the last day. The only positive thing was the fresh and tasty bread which you can order and pick up at the reception.
We stayed here for a week( 5-12 Jan.); arrived late ( 9 P.M.) to an unlit locked reception but found our keys and apartment with the help of our transfer driver. The apartment was an adequate size; we quickly made our beds and we into them. Unfortunately, there were bedbugs in one mattress so one of our party of 3 didn't get much sleep. As soon as reception opened in the morning, we let them know and they changed out the mattresses and bedding but did not change our apartment. We headed off to the slopes but the itching was quite horrific so shortened our ski day. We wanted to confirm the best treatment options and asked reception to let us look this up on the internet . They refused to give us any free internet access and also refused to check themselves. They suggested we go to a doctor and one staff member suggested the rash/ bits might be due to the mountain air. The lack of compassion/ concern was appalling: We will NEVER stay at another La Grange property!! Fortunately there were no more bed bigs after that first night but psychologically it wasn't great to be in the same apartment and we didn't find it cleaned to a high standard. We found the people in Plagne village very helpful- free wifi and great anti itch creams. Other complaints; this property is really separate from the village; you have to walk up quite a few steps ( esp. when the elevator was not working except one day during our stay!) The ski storage is on the 2nd floor; the stairs up to Plagne village are on the eight floor so it is a lot of stairs before the long hike to the village which is on a snowy road.…
