This was our first refuge on our TMB trek and didn't know what to expect. We're pleased to find that most are nicer. Our main complaint was the poor food quality and quantity. Dinner started with lentil soup that was a few lentils in broth and stale bread. The main course was a sort of beef stew and polenta casserole... More

This refuge is in the most amazing place, and has excellent views. Given that it is always extremely busy with walkers, it's amazing that the staff can be so friendly and helpful, and serve tea, coffee, beer, cake an evening meal, breakfast, etc. Just be aware that it will be busy in summer and so can be a bit of... Had one night in a 4 bed dorm here while hiking the TMB. The location is the most spectacular of any refuge in the entire hike. I would stay here again just for the beautiful position. You eat dinner while watching the sun set over snow capped mountains with ibex's wandering around the peaks. The major downside was the food.... More

We just completed the TMB in July and this was our first of several refuge experiences. My rating is in that context. The refuge is in a very isolated spot and alternatives are at least a couple of hours away so it gets filled up. The staff could be described as eclectic and friendly. I could only understand about every... More

Came here on the TMB. Excellent, really excellent view. Gave us a hearty and delicious lunchtime meal. Can't comment on the accom as we didn't stay here. Staff seemed very friendly. Difficult to get to!

This refuge is in an absolutely beautiful location. This is its one benefit. The refuge itself tries to cater for far too many people and for an extortionate price of €50 you get a slither of foam disguising as a bed in a huge, sweaty, cold, dormitory (don't expect to get any sleep), one sink for all the women staying,... Stopped here mid morning after leaving Les Chappieux on the TMB. A good place to stop after the long climb up to the col. Had some really nice chocolate cake and hot chocolate. Location is fantastic on the col, so the views are great and it feels like a proper mountain refuge, especially with the wind blowing around it. Would... More

Stayed here for one night while hiking TMB. We were planning on going to another refuge which had been booked by our tour company but found we were running late and were cold and tired. Stopped here and they were able to accommodate all 7 of us in the dormitory style room. It was not heated and quite cold. We... More

First time in a mountain hut and was not disappointed. Good location and pleased that it felt a little bit remote TMB was a bit of a disappointment for a highland lover far too many paths, roads, signposts etc Evening meal was adequate but very busy and noisy but beer was good and really special later on out on veranda... Cramped dining room and dorm, no lights turned on for guests - had to use headlamps everywhere at night. Tiny, inadequate restrooms. Terrible food, beef so tough, my wife had to push it away. Listless, disinterested staff. No system for garbage removal so you must hike out with your trash To add insult to injury this was one of the... More
