We stayed 5 nights with 2 young boys aged 5 and 8. The check-in procedure pre-arrival could have been better, there was very little instruction on where to park and where to go to check in. In future maybe an email with an accompanying map to show where to go would be useful. We walked around in the rain trying to find reception. The apartment was spacious and clean although the dishwasher had not been emptied and some of the dishes were not clean. The pillows were square and were uncomfortable for us as we are not used to square pillows but our kids loved them. The complimentary children's activities in the afternoons are a real treat (when the weather is not raining). The breakfast bakery service is also very good and reasonable prices too. A good stay but I would say this is more a 4 star hotel rather than a 5 star. The rooms and furnishings were not quite 5 star but the service is very good.

Beautiful, spacious, quiet and comfortable apartment. Surprisingly lots to do in the summer apart from hiking - mountain biking, tennis, golf, scooting, shopping, eating out, summer luge, swimming, massage....

We stayed 4 nights here in a 2 bed apartment. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. It was a lovely apartment within a 10 minute walk of local supermarket. The apartment was well equipped and very comfortable, and the location was very central for ski in ski out. The ski hire shop was literally a step outside the hotel and the lovely warm ski room for all your equipment was good, although may be a bit of a squeeze if you had 6 lots of ski equipment in it, which is what it was meant for. That said we will definitely be back as we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We tend to stay in Pierre & Vacances accommodation whenever we go skiing. Amara is modern with easy access to pistes! For a 5 star property with 5* prices, we would expect there to be certain inclusive services such as free towels. I called reception and ask if we could get replacement towels and baulked at the 9 euros fee for each towel. I mean we can buy towels for less in some major supermarkets. Also, you should include the jacuzzi as an inclusive service. La Flaine P&V Helios allows residents to use the jacuzzi at no extra charge. Apart from that, everything is good!!

We stayed in a 3 bedroomed apartment in the Chandra building at L’Amara apartments The 1st week in March . It was spacious , plenty of storage, clean & well equipped & quiet. Comfortable beds & powerful showers. We even had 3 bathrooms that was an unexpected bonus. It was truly ski in & ski out. The ski lockers were warm, although on the small side if we had the full occupancy of 8 people. The staff at reception were always extremely helpful & friendly without exception. The bread service was useful if you didn’t want the 5 minute walk up a steep slope in the morning ! Likewise it was 5 minutes to walk to the nearby Sherpa supermarket & 10 minutes into the main shopping centre. However it was up a fairly steep slope so maybe not suitable if you have young children. The alternative is to get a horse drawn sleigh into town for about 10 euros. We ate a few times in The Grande Cafe onsite where the staff were very friendly & helpful. This is particularly useful when the weather is blizzardous & you don’t feel like venturing far ! Can also recommend Le Reserve restaurant which is just over a 5 minute walk uphill for a special meal. Excellent food & ambience, just a little more expensive than the other restaurants but well worth it. Booking is essential. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Avoriaz.
