I think this hotel captures the whole relaxing feel and vibe of the region perfectly. service is detailed and personal, not intrusive, but enthusiastic - nothing appears to be too much trouble. The pool facility is excellent, the breakfast is delightful, the room was lovely, the grounds are perfectly kept, the staff (all of them) are really lovely, and the... More

We stayed at La Metairie for a week. First the good points: The location is very rural and quiet, and is ideally placed for exploring the delights of the Dordogne valley. The staff were excellent. They were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, and the grounds were immaculate. The food was generally good. Our only reservation would... More

We spent a week traveling through France and stayed at several hotels. This was one of our favorites! It's located in the quiet countryside, but you are not lacking for anything. The staff was friendly and helpful. The meals were beyond delicious. Our dinner was the most authentic French experience we had, including our 2 nights in Paris at 5-star... More

This lovely, secluded hotel was nirvana for us on our bike tour through the Dordogne: gorgeous rooms and views, idyllic property, luxurious pools and service (poolside rosé delivered by the lovely and charming Benedicte), and outstanding food (dinner and breakfast). We only wished we could have stayed longer. I hope to return one day!

A lovely and very well managed small hotel in a very rural area of France. The ideal situation for exploring the Dordogne area between Sarlat and Bergerac. Very comfortable rooms with individual air conditioning, lovely outside pool, and the restaurant serves excellent french style cuisine. Topped of by friendly and efficient staff.

Our return to La Métairie where we spent our honeymoon forty years ago was a lovely trip down Memory Lane. It was just as idyllic as we remembered it all those years ago. We were warmly welcomed by Bénédicte on our arrival and Jean-Jacques and all other staff could not have been more attentive in the dining room where we... More

The Metairie is one of our favourite hotels, which we are always pleased to re-visit. We were there recently and it was as good as ever with its lovely location and setting, gourmet food and friendly, helpful staff. The ground-floor room this time was a good size, comfortable and well-equipped with the advantage of being able to sit just outside... More

The friendly welcome of La Metairie was particularly appreciated by our party of 4 who rode our bicycles from Bergerac, but we could see that it extended to all travellers. The hotel rests in a peaceful country setting. Our room was elegantly furnished, with comfortable bed, and temperature control. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and we had very... More

Breakfast sumptuous with local specialities. Four course dinner superb and at 40 EUR very reasonably priced. Outstanding service. WiFi very good. Beautiful room decorated in classic country French yellow and blue. The rooms don't have numbers, but rather are named after French flowers. Excellent A/C with a comfy king bed. The grounds were charming, complete with ponies in the adjacent field. Very quiet and very country.
