All the rooms are individually designed and decorated to a very high standard with comfortable beds, air conditioning and tea & coffee making facilities which is always very welcome . Beautifully decorated old basque typical home. Quaint quiet garden; sweet welcome and lovely breakfast. Village is so lovely with the market and all the great artisans... kids can run around... We had the best time. Thank you for your kind welcome. We'll surely be back.

Hello, Thank you very much for your comments. Even though your stay was a short one, it's lovely to see that you were able to discover our very special village and the beauty of the Pays Basque. We thought very much about you all for your long trip home in very heavy traffic. We look forward to seeing you again....

We spent just one night at Maison Marchand on our journey from Caen to Portugal. We love the villages of the Pays Basque with their white and red timbered houses and this property is sited right in the Main Street, ten meters from the boulangerie and thirty metres from the square. Parking was easy even in July. Gilbert and Valerie...

We stayed here for a week this April to attend a wedding in town. We were in the Pigeonnier and the room has everything we needed. The hosts Valerie and Gilbert were most welcoming. They made us feel at home. Breakfasts and the dinner were scrumptious. The town is lovely and a good base to explore this region. Valerie and...

May 2014. I have just spent 6 days at Maison Marchand in the centre of the beautiful artisans village of La Bastide Clairence. Everything about this restored farmhouse is delightful, well presented, welcoming and comfortable. I felt totally at home and being there for 6 days, really loved having a sitting area as well as my bedroom. However, it was...

Hello Elaine, thank you to have taken the time to write about your stay with us. The feeling is mutual! We really enjoyed having you in our home, giving us the desire to visit your part of the world, quite far away as you know but just as interesting as our beloved basque country. We hope the rest of your...

We stayed 6 nights with Valerie, Gilbert & Alexandre, just like staying with friends, in their beautifully restored old farmhouse in the centre of the lovely Bastide village. We stayed two nights last week with Valery and Gilbert in their very attractive village house. The rooms, service and meals were all excellent and can be thoroughly recommended. We were also given very useful advice on scenic tours and what to see in the region, including detailed notes and the loan of appropriate maps. We would certainly stay there...

My family's stay at Maison Marchand was the highlight of our July vacation to the Basque Country. From the second we arrived, we were treated like family by Valerie and Gilbert. We occupied two rooms, both of which were absolutely charming and comfortable... and air-conditioned. A bonus for my family was Valerie and Gilbert's fluency in both French and English....

It was a pleasure to have you both in our home, we enjoyed the conversation around the dinner table and we admired very much your tenacity with the bike-riding - the Pays Basque is a test for anyone in that respect! Wishing you both well, Valerie, Gilbert and Alexandre
