Found this hostel randomly, was a bit on the hesitant side because of the reviews about the location but the whole of Kuta is like that so don’t let that put you off. Food is AMAZING and stupid cheap but you have to spend 100,000 to use card. Beds are huge, it has blackout curtains, really quiet because it’s such a small hostel, felt like I was in an air b&b most of the time 😅 the receptionist were LOVELY. So helpful and gave so many tips and tricks for getting around. I broke my phone one of the days and came to her crying and she gave me a spare phone to call home, really really good feel about this place. Only 7 minute drive from the airport too so amazing location for late/early flights

Had an amazing time at Lokal Bali Hostel. Staff were super friendly, and willing to help. Rooms were really clean with big comfy beds with storage to hold your bags. Food was lovely and cheap! Good location and in walking distance of everything. Definitely will be coming back!

I stayed here for a day and explored around Kuta! Great location to enjoy the beach vibes of Jerman & Kuta while strolling around. I'm amazed to experience the cleanliness of the rooms, toilets and lounge areas....and yes, they have pool also :)
Lot of warmth & care for all guests from the owner and indeed - great value for money!
Pros - Close to Airport, Cute cafe serving great food & Cool Indoor-Outdoor Decor!

This is a great place, with wonderful atmosphere and lovely people! :) I really recommend everyone to live in this place! We had a wonderful time here. The location is great and gives opportunity for both surf and other adventures!

Slept here for two nights. Walking to Kuta centre is 15 minutes if you are fast pacing. Everything is clean, great facilities (swimming pool, places to hang out) and the food is amazingly good. Staff is very friendly and helpfull and they speak English fluently. I had a wonderful stay, great people to meet. Beds are comfy clean and we had airconditioning.
When I come back to Bali I will book you guys again.
Ps. I left my jacket in the room, they kept it for me to pick it up! Great service!

The Lokal Bali Hostel is situated in Central Denpasar close to the airport. A taxi from the airport to the hostel is around 150 k rupiah and necessary. The hostel‘s staff is very friendly and cooperative. The rooms are modern and tidy, there were a few bugs though the cleaning every day is thorough and the bugs just appear to come in through the windows. The pool is good for relaxing and you could forget the busy city outside very fast. The spa treatments are nice as well and the food assortment is great. To whoever is coming to Bali and stopping in Denpasar, this is the hostel of choice!

Where do I even begin? This is an amazing hostel from start to finish. The check-in was quick and easy. The dorm bed was spacious for one person and the locker very easy to use. There were 2 bathrooms between 6 people, so it was easy to get ready whenever you need. The lounge area has a TV with Netflix plus a long dining table where you'll meet a lot of people. But the highlight has to be the "pavilion" near the pool, where people sit down to talk, smoke, play music and talk some more. I'd go here just for that!

I wasn’t a huge fan of this hostel for a few reasons.
Having travelled from Gili T and taken most of the day to get back to Kuta, I was pretty hungry so ordered the avocado dish off the menu. What arrived what a plain omelette since they forgot to mention they’d run out of avocados, which seemed a bit odd.
The next day, I asked the receptionist if I could have a new towel to use for sunbathing around the pool which she said was absolutely not possible. I only saw 3 other travellers at the hostel while I was there and plenty of clean laundry with a pile of towels. Then, I asked if I could borrow a plug adapter for my British appliances and the woman rolled her eyes at me. I felt like a big inconvenience for asking questions (despite paying £12 a night for the hostel!)
I asked more questions about how to get to the shopping malls and the easiest way to get to the airport and once again, these questions were met with sighs and eye rolls.
I’d recommend spending the money on somewhere else near the airport with friendlier staff. The pool and seating area is tiny and there is absolutely no atmosphere.

It is really close to airport, so little far from Semiyak, and need ride to kuta's central places. The room is really clean and bed is spacious. Staffs are super kind and friendly. They offer free traditional indonesian dinner buffet on Saturday, and i enjoyed the food there. Also their laundry service is very quick and cheap. It is little annoying that they don't have hair dryer on every bathroom. But overall, it was great stay there.

Lokal Bali is super close to the airport, you could even walk there like I did. It’s also walking distance to the beach but the beach is not as nice as Kuta. Getting to the center of Kuta seemed to take about 45 minutes. There is a giant mall nearby if you're looking for Western food options or a supermarket. A few local options also nearby. Hostel is very quiet despite being on a loud road.
Hostel has very comfy large sized bunks with lights and ingenious lockers “inside” the bunk. That helps to keep the room very tidy. Beds also had privacy curtains. 4 person room had two bathrooms but no soap by the sinks. Lounge area comfy and the entire hostel was very clean and tidy. I tried to sit by the pool at night but it's also very popular with mosquitoes. Luggage storage is just you leaving your bag in the lounge area. No secure storage.
They don't have free drinking water which is really problematic from a health and waste standpoint. And they don't give you a map. I was checked in by a guy who seemed a little confused and wasn’t helpful. I came down for breakfast and when I helped myself to an omelet, got yelled at that it wasn’t included. Seems odd to put out food in a public area if it’s not included and also, they could have mentioned this at check-in (I generally try to find places with the breakfast included but not sure I did that this time). You can get free tea but everything else must be bought from cafe.
