Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa is a well-regarded destination for its array of amenities, including an all-inclusive option, diverse water sports, a unique cave spa, and picturesque grounds, though some enhancements could be made. Nestled in a prime location, the hotel boasts proximity to the airport, stunning natural scenes, and ocean vistas, enhancing its appeal. Guests commend the warm and professional staff, despite occasional lapses in service. While the rooms command mixed reviews for their cleanliness and views, some suggest they could benefit from modernization and increased space. Cleanliness is generally praised, yet there are comments about the need for more regular towel replacement. The resort's atmosphere is celebrated for its inviting ambiance and cultural flair, with the value of the all-inclusive packages recognized, notwithstanding some concerns about service inconsistencies and unexpected charges.

Arrived to find construction going on; continuous truck digging out ledge near the beach. Sit on my balcony and hear and see it, sit on the beach hear it. SO disappointing. The veiews are spectacular , the rooms dated but the location would more than make up for it if it wasnt for the continual construction. Dissapointing suggest go somewhere else or check on when renovations are going to be finished.

Dear Guest, I am sorry to hear about your disappointment pertaining to the construction. The good news is that beach extension is almost finished, as the last bits of heavy work are completing this week. Sorry to hear that the heavy work noises coincided with your stay. Glad to hear that you did enjoy the views and I do hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Rob de Bekker General Manager

Great property. Breakfast and lunch was a full buffet, dinner is available in two restaurants. Very high quality food, drinks were not watered down. Staff was amazing (Wilfredo, Jeff, Raymond, Veronica, kalile, Vinnay, Ehbone)! Rooms were clean, coffe maker, mini frig, iron, hairdryer. Pool, small hot tub, private beach, kayak and snorkeling equipment, spa and cave you can swim in. Mondays are managers run swizzle reception and Thursday is international buffet dinner. Our only disappointment was we booked an ocean front but it was really a view of the bay. We chose the all inclusive option which was well worth it!

A friend and I recently went to Bermuda to participate in the Bermuda Triple Challenge OCR event and stayed at this beautiful resort. Our room was comfortable and the property is beautiful! We took advantage of the available watersports and went paddleboarding, which was fantastic. We both had spa treatments at the unique underground spa and we were both very happy with the experience. We used the hot tub, which was also lovely. We ate one lunch and two dinners on the property and they were all delicious. The Swizzle Inn is also a short walk away which offers great food and drinks, as well. Very much worth mentioning is how helpful and friendly the staff is. From the front desk, to the restaurant, to the Dive Shop - everyone seemed determined for us to have a great time. I would say that about everyone I met in Bermuda - such a warm and welcoming place to visit. And if you do, I highly recommend the Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa!

Our stay in January was for a special birthday so we were slightly concerned when some time after we had booked, we were notified by British Airways that there was going to be construction work during our stay. We didn't need to worry, the disruption was minimal and we were out of the resort exploring the beautiful island of Bermuda during the day so we weren't troubled by any noise. I think the construction is probably over now and I am sure that it will have created some fantastic new bar/dining spaces for future guests to enjoy. Some reviews have mentioned unfriendly staff, but we didn't experience that at all - quite the opposite in fact! I want to mention Veronica, Danny, Jimmy, Dwayne and 'Liverpool Charlie' who took great care of us during our stay - I just wish I could still remember the names of all the other staff because everyone we met was lovely to us. I highly recommend the 'All Inclusive' package because it represents really good value and includes bus/ferry passes for the duration of the stay which we made full use of. The local transport is a brilliant way to see this small island and we recommend trying all the different bus routes so that you see both coasts. We were never unhappy with the food which was always well presented and the menu had options to suit most tastes. We felt that the 'specials of the day' were always a good option as they tended to offer more interesting dishes. We are well-travelled and have stayed in some very expensive, upmarket hotels and whilst this isn't as lavishly appointed as the highest end accommodations, our ocean view room was perfectly comfortable, had everything we needed and was always clean. As fairly sociable people, the only slight downside for us was that we went in January to coincide with a birthday and everywhere was incredibly quiet - completely deserted in some places! Many establishments use the off season to close for refurbishment, but despite this, we still found something new to visit every day. The weather was also a bit mixed, but never cold (not by British standards!) Of course, the hotel can't be blamed for the weather or the fact that it was off season and they did their best to provide entertainment and events in the evenings. On a positive note, it meant that we never had to endure crowds or queues and when we visited the nearby Crystal caves, we had our own private guide on a tour that in peak season has at least 50 people in every group! Similarly, the hotel pool and jacuzzi often only had us in them - I expect it's very different in the summer season. Don't be put off by the proximity to the airport, it's a relatively quiet airport and it is a positive advantage to have a short taxi trip to and from the resort, especially when the international flight is a long one. In summary, go to the beautiful island of Bermuda and stay at Grotto Bay, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Our plane had an emergency so we were forced to land in Bermuda and they transferred us to Grotto Bay. They managed the sudden influx of 200 passengers very well! Major construction ongoing on site. Very interesting property, beautiful beach and lovely breakfast room. Our room was a problem: room telephone and TV not working. No hot water in the shower. They managed the airport transfers very well however.

We had a “Bermudiful” time at Grotto Beach Resort. Our holiday exceeded our expectations! The facility was very clean and well looked after. We opted for the American meal plan which consisted of breakfast and dinner. The food was exceptional. But what we loved most of all was the wonderful staff especially in the dining room. They were so friendly and helpful. Saying goodbye was difficult as we felt like saying goodbye to special friends or family.

Enjoyed a wonderful time between 2/29/24 and 3/3/24. I recommend ocean view and the all inclusive package. Initially had issues with the room we were placed in but it was quickly resolved. Every staff member we encountered was wonderful. The staff quickly learns who you are and makes you feel like you are at home. Special thanks to the dining room staff.

I brought my 12 year old son for a brief getaway, have fun, and enjoy new adventures together. Grotto Bay Resort hit all the right notes for us- the incredibly kind and friendly staff, the concierge support, the Cathedral Cave swimming hole, the pool, beach, tennis, pergola and fish feeding! My son already misses the resort cats dearly. Hotel is conveniently near the Fantasy/Crystal caves, Blue Hole Park, and Swizzle Inn. Lifetime memories. Thank you for the quality experience!

I can only say what an experience staying at the Grotto Bay Beach resort was, full five stars. We found all staff friendly, food excellent and the resort very clean. We stayed all inclusive and would definitely say do this, it's excellent value for money included within this was the bus and ferry pass which makes travelling around the island very easy. Although we went out of season Bermuda 🇧🇲 is worth the visit Many thanks to all the staff and Manager no question was to much trouble to answer. Although there is construction work taking place at the moment this is managed very well with little disruption.
