We arrived for our much anticipated vacation to Bermuda, fully aware of the COVID requirements for our stay. Upon arrival at the hotel, we knew there would be a quarantine period, but the hotel seemed ill prepared for our arrival. There was nothing in the mini bar, no welcome snack, no information about ordering food or cocktails. It would have been nice to have arrived in the room and had a note saying "Welcome to Bermuda, we are so glad you are with us- here is a complimentary bottle of wine for your quarantine, or your welcome cocktail will be delivered soon" instead, we were given a coupon to get our welcome cocktail in the bar(given that we could not leave our room, that was not an option) Given that the hotel was about a quarter full and noticing that we were the only room occupied on the hall, I would have thought they would be so happy to have customers! We had to order room service and it seemed they were unprepared for our situation, instead of being able to order a cocktail from the bar, we had to order all the ingredients and make it ourselves. We could not order from the restaurant menu, but from the limited Room Service menu. Additionally, we were not informed prior to our arrival that the beach club, conservatory bar, fitness center, spa, etc. were all either closed or unavailable to us while we were staying at the hotel. It would have been a nice gesture to either eliminate or reduce the "$48 Daily Resort Fee" since we had limited access to resort amenities. The first day we were able to get out, we realized that there was not a concierge, only the front desk and doorman were available to assist with issues, including the lack of housekeeping the first day. Everyone we dealt with was very nice, and trying to make the best of the situation, but it was obvious that they were short staffed. We had called to request maintenance because our thermostat in the room did not work, and the room was always extremely hot. Nobody ever showed up. We had visited this hotel on a number of occasions when it was the Marriott Castle Harbor, and had good memories. However, this experience was not the 5 star service that we had expected and paid for. Should our travel plans bring us to Bermuda again, we will stay elsewhere.

Dear unhappytraveler1220, Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us. We are so sorry to see that your experience was disappointing, and we can see clearly that we failed to meet your expectations, with some unfortunate gaps in service, and communication. While services such as in-room arrival amenities and turndown have been reduced and modified to comply with current COVID restrictions, we regret that this was not better managed and communicated to you. While we understand that you likely would not return, we appreciate your feedback, as we strive to improve on our guest experiences, and we would be glad to welcome you back for the opportunity to earn back your trust and deliver the experience you should have had on your initial stay with us. We apologize once again for not delivering an experience worthy of the memories you once had at this property. Our team will be contacting you further as we hope to understand how we can make things right for you. Sincerely, Sascha Hemmann Managing Director, Rosewood Bermuda

For the amount of money I paid for what was supposed to be my birthday weekend, I feel like I did not get the value I paid for. This will be my first and last time staying there! The room rate was way too high for the overall service and amenities provided.

This resort has a great “old time” feel without seeming old or worn. This staff (especially concierge) were very helpful always. The Island of Bermuda is a gem- beauty, people, food. Service: Concierge responsive and helpful with dining suggestions and reservations. Private transport drivers Ray and Ted fantastic! Room: We stayed in a 1 BR suite with second connecting room. Very spacious and well appointed. Nice water view. Having a golf cart is a must and it came in very handy. One must be careful venturing with the golf cart as it’s easy to get confused and end up on public roads. Make sure that GPS is turned on! It warns you if you are going the wrong way. Food: Sul Verde- delicious lunch options, great service and beautiful golf course/water views. Island Brasserie- also delicious food and great service. Nice soups and steaks. Unless you dine outdoors it felt a little “closed up” at night. The Conservatory Bar- our favorite spot!!! Beautiful, open cozy with a great feel. Andrea was great. Amazing drinks (especially Gin). We went daily in late afternoon. Location/activities: Beautiful hillside setting, property is all hills and valleys. Spectacular golf course in nice though not pristine shape. Devane Sr golf pro very helpful! Shopping- was just ok although nice restaurants in Hamilton. Twizy- You MUST rent one of these electric 2 seaters to explore the island. My wife was initially scared but after a few minutes felt comfortable. The company, Current Vehicles, does a great job. Friendly staff and very helpful app to find attractions. Out of resort Restaurants: Little Venice- outstanding delicious Italian with best service that we encountered. Cozy setting. Must try Cacio Pepe. Blu- beautiful water view great steaks and sushi. Service was good but not great. 1609- BEAUTIFUL water side setting and delicious lunch with very attentive service. Overall, one of our nicest vacations. Bermuda and its people are special- warm, classy educated. Upscale island feel in a quiet way. One last thing. We felt very safe- tedious but very effective COVID 19 protocols Can’t wait to come back!

Stayed various times at the hotel, modern bermuda charm. Very friendly professional staff. Great seeting unfortunately bermuda prices, so more expensive than other holiday location. The benefit is a not overcrowded family friendly and relaxing setting!

We had a lovely week at The Rosewood! We were pleasantly surprised on arrival with an upgrade to a suite. Not only was the room beautiful the upgrade also included our own golf buggy to travel around the resort. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help. They couldn't do enough for us -they would even regularly come and move our umbrella by the pool to make sure we stayed in the shade (which we wanted). The beach club is lovely and only a short drive in the buggy (or they do have a shuttle service). The beach itself is beautiful with super soft sand and very quiet and secluded. Overall we'd definitely this hotel!
