Our room was "Cable Bay" lovely room with a view of the Gardens and the sea. Staff ( albeit a bit short handed) were super efficient and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Had a few drinks sitting out in the Garden, there was a lovely wee breeze that kept the midges away. Food was excellent had something... More

Our friends invited us to Colonsay and we were wowed. Blessed with fabulous sunshine for all 4 days, we found the Island, the people and the hospitality at 'The Colonsay' all stunning. Rooms were clean and comfortable, food very good and the quiz night and live music nights were great.

What a wonderful surprise this hotel was. We arrived on the lovely island of Colonsay and within minutes we were checking into this fabulous hotel. The décor was very tasteful and just up my street. I was very impressed with all the food, especially the vegetarian options. The staff were very helpful and professional. I was sad to leave and... More

The Colonsay is everything you want from a hotel - fabulous location, efficient and friendly service and wonderful food. All of this delivered in a very relaxed environment - interior simple but stylish and service second to none. Very highly recommend visiting this wonderful hotel and island. We were so lucky with our weather which was also amazing.

When choosing which islands to visit, we were attracted to Colonsay having read reviews of this hotel. Had this not been an entry in The Good Pub Guide we would not have gone to Colonsay. The room was extremely spacious, the hotel beautiful and spotless and the service from Ivan and his team was excellent. Lovely breakfasts and a good... More

We spent a lovely few days on the beautiful island of Colonsay. There is only 1 hotel on the island! This was OK. Our room was clean and well equipped although the shower room was minute. There was barely room to spread your arms to towel yourself dry! The manager was very friendly, especially as he had previously lived and... More

My brother and I recently visited the island of Colonsay, where we lived as children. This was the first time that we have stayed at the hotel although we had eaten there often we arrived on opening day but we're delighted with the accommodations, food and staff. Ivan the manager, and Lucy were friendly and efficient. The view from our... More

Only hotel on the Island and its within walking distance of The Ferry. Cosy comfy and very welcoming. We stayed for two nights but had to stay in a twin room the first night as the hotel was full. transferred to a massive double room with views to the ferry on the second night at a discount. Brilliant and wished... More

Lovely to return after so many years. Last time I stayed it was run by the Byrnes and then was lovely, comfortable, homely luxury. Now it has changed physically to be more spacious with a cooler atmosphere. Our room was nicely decorated and the food was excellent; Argyll venison in particular. Really good Scottish breakfast.

On this occasion we stayed in a holiday let, a charming, cosy little cottage by the pier called Harbour. It is managed by the Colonsay. The grand children were so excited they did not sleep the night before and were up early and packed. The ferry got us in when it was already dark. The cottage was found up a... More
