#1 of 18 hotels in Alcala De Henares
Certificate of Excellence
In the birthplace of Cervantes, where every nook and cranny oozes art and culture, stands the Parador de Alcala, a 17th-century monastery school and student lodgings located in the former San Jeronimo College. However, do not let so much history overwhelm you, because the hotel offers the perfect combination of tradition and avant-garde. The interior decor is of a modern design: tasteful, minimalist and extremely elegant. The services are without par: in addition to the standard offerings at Paradores, there is a spa, business center, convention centers and twelve conference rooms. 26 Kilometers from Madrid, 20 kilometers from Barajas International Airport and the trade fair facilities at IFEMA, and just 2 kilometers from the train station, the Parador's location in this World Heritage City is one of its main advantages.

When traveling for work expectations tend to be no more than moderate. But we were very impressed with this hotel. And I would choose to go back. Staff are friendly, helpful and quickly get to know you. Rooms are very well designed and well proportioned. Sound insulation (a common problem with many hotels) was not a problem here. Location is perfect: a short walk to the old town which is buzzing on an evening. An abundance of choice for bars / restaurants at very reasonable prices, and all that you might need. If I have one grumble, it is that the hotel outdoor pool did not open early enough for a quick dip before work. But this is minor and I would still give it 5 stars.

The room was lovely however it’s very expensive. For the price, I would have expected parking and breakfast to be included. Parking was an additional €14 per day and breakfast was an additional €18 per person. Spa facilities are also an additional charge.

I asked for a quiet room and they delivered! Not a squeak from adjoining rooms. Room extremely well appointed and sheets changed daily.Breakfast lovely with an option of eating in the courtyard.Pool very good and a lovely rooftop garden.Right in the centre of Alcala and an easy 20Mon walk to the Cercania to Madrid.

As we love contemporary architecture, this place was right up our alley. We stayed here for two nights as a bridge between our two week tour of Spain and traveling home. We slept, relaxed, had spa treatments, and strolled in town. Consistently good breakfast as in all the paradores. This was our favorite place for dinner, with a menu and presentation that also was more contemporary than some other locations. Artichokes in almond sauce...I’d love the recipe! I wish the spa amenities like the pool were included when booking treatments, but alas, one has to pay for those separately.
