Only 5 or so mins from town, but what a spectacular location, very clean Spanish country finca. Friendly, comfortable beds. Accommodated my wife and i and our three little kids on our overnight trip from Valencia to Lisboa. Thank you!

If you are looking for a hotel with swimming pool and air-conditioned rooms then don't look here. However, if you are looking for a great touring centre, clean rooms with en-suite facilities a great deal with a good breakfast to see you through until lunch time then this is the place. Added to that, if you are a bird-watcher then... More

The house was situated well and it wasn't expensive, the bee eaters flew across the road as we entered the driveway and there were many storks nesting nearby. The room we had was spacious but overlooked the washing line, the towels were small and only a small wrapped bar of soap was provided, we had to ask for glasses.. Breakfast... More

This is a fantastic birdwatching base with little owl and great and little bustard in view. There's also white storks in abundance on all the walls and roofs of the outbuildings. The finca is warm and comfortable and the owners are keen birdwatchers too. We enjoyed continental style buffet breakfasts and 3 course evening meals with wine and water included.... More

I lead tours to Extremadura and we always stay for a week the Casa las Canteras. Francesco and his mother Pilar, who cooks, are great hosts. We eat delicious authentic Spanish food, have peaceful bedrooms with stunning views across the plains of Spain to Trujillo and enjoy the tranquility of the place. Breakfasts are simple buffet meals but dinner is... More

Chosen for its location in a good birdwatching area and only half an hour from Monfrague National Park. Great views across the plains and the ruined farmhouse nearby was covered in White Stork nests! We did hire a car to drive around but you could just walk locally and see many of the star species like Great and Little Bustard,... More

The room was a surprise: very large and comfortable. It was clean and the view across the plains extends all the way to Trujillo! The "rumour" that there is a telescope on the veranda is true, by the way and Bustards could be seen from the veranda indeed! Birding start when walking out the door: Little bustards are calling from... More

I have just returned from another week with a small group of birders and had an enjoyable stay. The guest house is in a fantastic peaceful location on the plains. Good locally sourced three course evening meals are served on the veranda with views of nesting storks, great spotted cuckoos and little owls in the grounds. Francisco is a great... More

My husband and I choose this B&B, main reason was bird watching and enjoy the nature that's why we have no any high expectation! Just think about that you are having house camping something like that. I am happy that this very simple B&B's location is surrounded by the nature with two lovely dogs (the owner's pet)! You don't need... More

Basic hostal rooms beds and one chair. The food was very basic. No vegetarian options. A good place for bird watching but little else. Would prefer to stay in Trujillo where there are far more eating choices.
