The hotel is situated in very calm area of Loutra Edipsou . The owner Kostas and his wife are very helpful and nice people ! The property is very clean. The rooms are good. Only the bathrooms are really small. They're changing the linen every 2 days and the towels even often. The breakfast is good - typical greek dishes and ham and eggs Kosta's brother's owns the tavern with the same name. It's nearby the hotel and it's really a very good choice for dinner. The food is tasty.
We spent 5 nights there in February 2018. I can only imagine how nice it is there in the Spring or Fall. Mr. & Mrs. Fotou, the owners and operators, were great hosts and made the extra effort to insure all our needs were met. Nice people! I will definitely stay there again.
I found Edipsos by chance and decided on the hotel according to a review I had seen saying how other travellers had appreciated the service. Well, it is true. Nothing was too much for the owner, Costas and his wife. They were willing to take us places if necessary. They advised us. This is not a luxury accommodation but it is very comfortable, the room is clean, lots of hot water, towels, and the bed is made every day. We had an ample breakfast which kept us going most of the day and then we could eat out. It is in walking distance of a hot water spa almost on the same road. The town is quiet in March, the weather was perfect. The town is full of hot thermal water gushing out all over and the view and the sea were marvellous. I can imagine Edipsos being very crowded in the summer and this hotel is away from the centre near the foot of the mountain so I think it will be quieter then.…
We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at the 40Plantania hotel a few weeks ago. It is a very comfortable and clean hotel with reasonable rates. It is across the street from a great restaurant with meats cooked on a spit over the fire. This is a family run hotel and Kostas and his family are great hosts. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. it is a short walk downhill to the beach and town with shopping and restaurants within a block of the hotel.
On Wed 29th I was driving towards Aidepsos to catch a ferry to the mainland when my car broke down. The driver of the rescue truck took me to a garage and got a taxi man to take me to a hotel. I arrived at 10.30 pm and got a wonderful and sympathetic welcome. I was just settling into my room when a member of staff came to the door with a bottle of cold water. The room had all that I wanted and I slept very well. Breakfast was delicious! When my car was ready the owner himself drove me about 3 miles to the garage. Wonderful Greek hospitality! (and incredibly good value!)
Yes it is away from the heart of town...just the way we like it - going to sleep to the sound of crickets (and waking up to the roosters, if you are a light sleeper). The small bay where the hot springs flow into the sea is right at the base of the hill and an easy stroll before breakfast or before bed. Breakfast was a feast, even satisfying our hearty North American appetites. The homemade pastries and preserves were delicious. The room was basic and there were no English channels on the TV, but the wifi signal was strong and there was hot water in the shower. For the price (18 EUR / night) it was an awesome value.
