We loved our brief stay here. We scheduled it for one night between flying from Milos to Athens, and our flight from Athens to the US. We wished we could've stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful pools and beach. The room was spacious and well-appointed, and the view of the beach was stunning - we watched a gorgeous sunset from our balcony. The staff was courteous and assisted in arranging transfers to and from the airport. It was a great experience for our last night in Greece.

We moved here when our hotel on the east coast closed urgently due to COVID and in hindsight wish we had booked from the outset!
What an amazing team who are 5 star attentive and this is on top of a beautiful hotel in superb surroundings, it’s own private beach, beautiful pool and now down to one restaurant (with winter and COVID) but enough variety and superb quality food to still feel like a complete treat.
The weather was a bit variable 1-7 November but mostly sunny and warm and the seawater pool is freezing but great for healing my husbands new knee!
We will come back in summer next year if we can, the local environment and restaurants and the brilliant team make for a very special stay.

Special thanks particularly to the team in the main hotel who were so eager to provide brilliant customer service, Nana, the two Dimitris, vangelis in the mythos beach restaurant while it was open and the lovely Rania, but also reception, the chefs at breakfast, housekeeping, the doorman and the management team ever present.

Thank you for making this such a perfect swift getaway from England while all this weird world is happening, we wish you all a safe time and see you in 2021. Nikki and John.

Nice hotel. I’ve been to Greece 25 plus times. This property is a very nice property and the rooms were very nice. The only complaint I have is that we were not allowed access to their larger property Divani Thalassos/Spa Beach area or Pool without a ridiculous fee which was across the street from us. The pool at the Escape was not really a pool. If you want to enjoy the beach and the pool I would not recommend it. That alone took away one star. Find an another boutique hotel nearby with better views and access to lounging.

We chose the hotel for the beautiful locations, however if you don’t have a car or do not want to take 40 Euro taxis everywhere you are stuck with the same three restaurants and lack of kiosks to buy basic things like water ( which the hotel did not provide. ) The hotel safe used your key card to lock which I thought was problematic as anyone with a card to your room could open the safe.
The WiFi was weak, the hotel front desk people were unhelpful and answered every question with people here have money so they don’t take a bus they call a taxi. They had no idea about taking a regular bus anywhere. They told me the hop on hop off bus was 16 euro and I was charged 25– overall out of touch with very basic information like catching a bus into the city. They did have a shuttle but it did not run on Sundays and it was very limited with time and location.
We were basically there for the pool., however it was also limited in time. It opens at 10 and closed at 7. I was told the pool closed at 7 PM when the in room brochure said 8 PM When I asked about the discrepancy the response I got was, “This is what they tell us to tell people.” I asked if the ice was made with filtered water, the response after checking and calling back was it is made with regular water. You can not drink tap water in Greece you must buy filtered water- also not provided by the hotel.
The breakfast buffet sat in trays all morning. Food was cold, My daughter asked for a paper cup at breakfast because we were going to the airport. They had given one to a Greek couple who asked earlier- they told her no
Overall the amount of money we paid was not in line with service. The elitist responses and ignorance of very basic questions and requests was disappointing.

Response from Divani Collection Hotels, General Manager at Divani Escape

Dear mavtina, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso and providing your honest feedback in the TripAdvisor survey. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. We will address the issues you raised with the relevant managers and continue to make the necessary improvements in order to ensure all our guests have rewarding experiences. Allow me though to point out some facts that maybe where not clarified or misunderstood: -Hotel safes open only with the unique personal room card and these cards change every time the room is rent. No-one opens the safe but the room resident each time. -The hotel’s internet feed is non-stop over multiple VDSL and ADSL lines, exceeding 70Mbps band width in total. Of course there are times when our guest’s devices might not be, for some reason, completely compatible with the above profile, thus having slight problems with connectivity. Our IT Manager and our reception staff is always available and knowledgeable to offer their assistance. -Both pools (seawater and freshwater) operate from 07.00 am to 08.00 pm as it is clearly mentioned in our site. -Tap water all over Greece is of very high quality, absolutely safe and drinkable. Dear mavtina, in order to better uphold our commitment to deliver exceptional service to every guest, from arrival to departure, we have taken your feedback in serious consideration, in order to make all the efforts to improve our service process and avoid such incidents to occur in the future. Please accept my sincere apologies for once more and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Kind regards, The Divani Apollon Suites Guest Relations Team.

We booked this hotel to have a more luxurious experience but got very disappointment.
The hotel does not give a 5 star experience, skip the headache and do not book.
The hotel might check every box on paper to fulfill 5 stars but the experience lives up to 2 stars.

It is not clear on the booking that the hotel and suites are not in the same building and because of that you do not have access to the pool area at the main building (hotel) without paying 80€ for two people. And the same goes to their beach places, they have two, one place where you pay 40€ and the other 80€. As if it is not enough to pay the expensive price to stay there, you have to pay extra to do everything. The suites building does have a very small pool area and approximately 3 sunbeds, it is so rotten and the sun does not appear there because of buildings surrounding the area.

The staff are understaffed which makes them stressed and you do not get the service you wish for a 5 star experience. During breakfast there was only one staff who served everyone, there were times where you got forgotten and you had to go to them to order.

The rooms are old, which was expected from the photos, but they should really upgrade and renovate their rooms, they are really worn down.
We tried to be away as much as possible from our room and hotel.

In overall, this was one of the worst stays and it is so unworthy to stay there, save your money or spend them on something else that is worthy.

The Divani Apollon Suites are effectively a pension to the main hotel, the Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso. We think that some reviews on this page must relate to the main hotel rather than the Suites because they are at odds with our experience, especially when they talk about sea views and spectacular sunsets. Our balcony had a view of the utilities area of the main hotel on the opposite side of the road. The only way we could get a sea view was lean out over the balcony and crane our necks to the left. Even then, it was a thin sliver of sea between the hotels that otherwise blocked our view (check it out on Google Maps).
We checked in at the main hotel and were then taken fifty metres up the road, crossing the street to the suites. The lobby of the Suites is impressive but maybe this opulence is intended to distract one from the faint whiff of drains in that area. We took the small lift to our room on the third floor.
The room was very average without the feel of luxury we expected from a five-star hotel. We had just left a cruise ship at Piraeus and the bathroom on the ship was bigger than the one at the Suites. The bath is so narrow that we do not know how anyone even slightly overweight could ever fit into it.
The breakfast was good and varied and we chose to sit on a narrow veranda outside. Sadly, it looked like nobody had swept under the tables for weeks. The outside area was generally tatty and the constant traffic noise made it a less than relaxing experience.
At one point when we were in our room, the Maid attempted to enter, even though the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign was illuminated (perhaps she does not understand English).
On another occasion we were called by reception to ask whether someone from maintenance could check our lights, as they were not working properly on our floor.
To sum up, we got the impression that the Suites were the poor relation to the main hotel. Yes, you can use all the facilities at the main site and the beach, which were very impressive, but the Suites building is so clearly older and the accommodation certainly does not have the look and feel of a five-star hotel. If you wish to book the Divani Apollon, make sure your room is in the main hotel and not in the Suites building.
Reading the description on Trip Advisor, I’m not quite sure why I am supposed to find a ‘minibar, fridge, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi to be ‘romantic’.

We were guests of the hotel for 3 nights when not only us but also two other couples have faced the same issues: rooms were not cleaned. When calling the reception to ask for water ( the one that needs to be refilled) all of us received the same answer” you pushed a red button that is why we did not clean the room and brought you water”. No one has pressed any button whatsoever, although we faced a terrible experience after leaving the hotel, they charged us more by mistake. Still, we just wanted our invoice but when calling everyone has simply hanging the phone in our faces. I do not recommend this hotel. Terrible way of communication, stuff totally unfriendly and a total mess. Stay away from this place as it is a nightmare!!

Dear Mrs. Daniela Toader, Thank you for choosing Divani Apollon Suitesfor your stay as well as for your e-mail. Following your comments we would like to express our sincere apologies if we have not met your needs and expectations. We would like to point out though some facts that maybe were totally misunderstood: First of all you appeared in the Hotel with a cancelled reservation by your Online Travel Agent. When we present you the proofs of the cancellation you understood that it was not our mistake and we immediately proceed in new reservation. On topo of that we gave you the above proofs in order to investigate the matter with your Online Travel Agent. There was absolutely no "overcharge by mistake" since the amount that you claimed as so, was your discount in case YOU would have made the reservation using your loyalty GHA number. As a goodwill gesture we offered you the "non discount" amount the day of your check out giving you free access to the beach and over that offering you a nice lunch on the Beach restaurant. Your invoices were ready for you at the Reception but you never passed by -after your free lunch- to pick them up. No one "hung the phone in your faces" since the answer you got was that the invoices will be forwarded to you (as happened) by our Financial department the next working day . Regarding the service issues we took your comments into serious consideration and we would be very happy if you had mentioned them the same time they happened so we could find a way to resolve them. Mrs. Toader, we once more thank you for your valuable comments.

How this hotel has a 5 star rating is a mystery to me.
Our safe jammed. We reported it in the morning but when we got back in the evening no one had been to look.
Had to report it a 2nd time before it was fixed.

A leaking shower which caused the bathroom floor to be wet and slippery never got fixed at all.

My husbands bedside light which was problematic never got fixed.

Breakfast was average and the cereals were cheap and sugary.

The bin next to the lift was overflowing with the same rubbish for 2 days. On day 2 there were added egg shells on the floor.

All this would be acceptable in a 2-3 star hotel

I can't remember how many hotel buses a day, but there is at least 2, they will pick you up from the point you are dropped off, you will have to make sure you are there on time. The hotel have all the timetable information on a print out. Also for public bus journeys you can purchase bus tickets inside the small shop in the hotel entrance. We got the hotel bus to Athens and it didn't take long at all, about 35-40 mins
