This hotel suited our budget which was mid range. The Congo is situated perfectly near nice restaurants, pharmacy and the centre of Glyfada all within walking distance. The beach which is just opposite is a public one which offers NO sunbeds. Personally this was an issue for me as I don’t like putting my towel on the sand. We got a quick taxi to Voula beach and Vouligmeni beach which you pay 15€ for but this comes with beds and umbrellas & clean facilities ie, showers, changing rooms and WC.
In a nutshell the Congo Palace has a great location in Glyfada. It’s clean with our room being cleaned daily but it is dated. Our family room had no natural light so it was very dark and was carpeted which I didn’t like. The pool is basic and could do with modernising too. Nice pool bar / restaurant though.
Helpful staff, couldn’t fault them.

Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed by our recent stay at the Congo Palace. Rooms are comparable to a dorm room at best. We had to beg for towles as you are only allowed one per person. No extra toilet paper (had to go to the front desk in my pajamas as they were short on staff), no shampoo/conditioner (they had an all in one hand, body, hair liquid), if room is facing the beach note there is a busy main street in front of the hotel and the noise is similar to the Indy 500, esp late at night into early morning hours, we were charged for our stay upon check in vs check out, there is no where to purchase sundries, you must leave the hotel, a room that sleeps 3 means two twins pushed together and a roll away cot (super uncomfortable), lingering odor in the rooms that are extremely short on outlets. Would not recommend. Only saving grace was that the front staff was kind and friendly however we can not say the same for the housekeeping. Look elsewhere.

I booked on Booking.con for 11 nights. My son and I were traveling together. I have been to Glyfada many times and from the outside and lobby Congo Palace looked great.
The room we were given had dirty smelly carpet, the coils in the mattress were felt as you laid down. I went down to ask for another room and was told I needed to upgrade…which I did. The renovated room was nice but the shower had no curtain and water went everywhere. They were doing construction and the noise was awful. The noise from the road was ridiculous, felt like I was sleeping in the road.
To make matters worse, my son was sick and we left 5 days early. They refused to speak with me about a refund. They did not return emails to Booking or me. I have emailed 3 times with no response.
Staff was nice to my face but I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We was looking for a 4/5 stars hotel in Glyfada for a two nights buisness trip purpose.
We booked at Congo Palace based on its location and proximity to our meetings area.
The hotel photos looks nice and the price raisonable.
Once arrived their, we was surprise; Congo Palace is completly neglected. (tear carpets, cracks on walls and ceilings, odor of humidity and musty in rooms,....)
We had the sea view rooms but they forgot to inform us that the rooms are on the main road and the noise was insupportable. (a bad windows insulations)
* Despite the fact that only 4 rooms was occupied out of the 92 rooms availble. they charged us a late check out (50% of the daily room price)
I'm sorry to say that I do not recommend Congo Place to tourists who are looking for a minimum of confort.
**I should mention that the staff did their best to help but the hotel conditions and rules couldn't help.

The only decent thing about the hotel are the people who suffer and work there. The lobby smells so disgusting, it is like being stuck in the cheapest cleaning supply bottle constantly to cover the disgusting mold throughout the hotel.
The first room which I paid on Amex in full was the most horrible room I ever seen. It is almost indescribable how smelly, filthy, and grotesque it was. I told them I couldn’t stay in a room like that, with stained old moldy carpet. They said I could upgrade for $400 to a better room. Stupidly I paid upfront and after three days I couldn’t take the cleaning supply smell covering the mold that infests the hotel and black hairs (I have blond hair) on the bed and stained sheets.
Save yourself by not staying here. It should be shut down.

Old not maintained hotel poor customer service extremely expensive while the owner contact is a secret! Paid 600 dollar for a Garbage. Rooms are weary old and not maintained, below the smelly carpet the floor tiles are broken and not safe to walk above!
What they called family room is just a hostel room bunch of single beds lying around the room, with view of other buildings around!
The Roman lock was not working The electric plugs were not working the tea kettle was not working the bathroom did not have a lock !! This is a pure scam for what we paid for this garbage!! As I was explained The hotel did not have a manager just a supervisor who acknowledged my remarks.
I got 2 wake up calls in the middle of the nights and early morning that I never asked for, when I complained the front desk staff did nothing he was agitated and refused to simply apologize!??
You better stay away from this hotel it is a bad representation to Athens!

Excellent staff! Very clean! We stayed 2 and a half weeks and we felt like we were at home! Staff was always accommodating and we had no worries. The best location in the heart of Glyfada! We want to thank the staff/reception for making our stay there exceptional! ……….Demetra and Giannis 412!

In the hotel all I liked was the breakfast - very adequate - and the warm atmosphere in the lobby. The hotel staff was very helpful. In the room the heat emitted by the air conditioner did not cover the room space, and it did not have very good sound insulation - the noise of cars was heard. In addition, the hotel does not have parking so in the area it is relatively difficult to find parking in peak hours and close to it.

Horrible service. Staff was rude, didn't have room ready and kept us waiting for 2 hours and gave us estimated time of 5 minutes. Rooms are old and dirty. Heard next to room every bit of conversation man was having on the phone. Noisy. Bed was extremely small and was told we would have king. NO PARKING, NO security. Don't stay there.
