Stayed here for a weekend, enjoyed the breakfast, room was pretty basic but very clean, reception decor is very pretty, pool is open for non hotel guests to use if they wish to. There is off road parking available and its very close to the waterfront, and local shops
The only decent thing about the hotel are the people who suffer and work there. The lobby smells so disgusting, it is like being stuck in the cheapest cleaning supply bottle constantly to cover the disgusting mold throughout the hotel. The first room which I paid on Amex in full was the most horrible room I ever seen. It is almost indescribable how smelly, filthy, and grotesque it was. I told them I couldn’t stay in a room like that, with stained old moldy carpet. They said I could upgrade for $400 to a better room. Stupidly I paid upfront and after three days I couldn’t take the cleaning supply smell covering the mold that infests the hotel and black hairs (I have blond hair) on the bed and stained sheets. Save yourself by not staying here. It should be shut down.
The hotel seems to be in the process of renovation while remaining open for business. Your experience will vary greatly from the room you get. The room we stayed in corresponds in no way to the very nice design language of the lobby. It was dilapidated, the double bed we requested was twin beds brought close to each other while one of them was rocking sideways. Everywhere there are signs of old repairs and constructions that haven't been finished and are done very poorly. In general the photos on the internet uploaded by the property are a gross misrepresentation of reality. Although the location is nice, it is far from worth the money. Look for other places, this one is horrible.
Excellent staff! Very clean! We stayed 2 and a half weeks and we felt like we were at home! Staff was always accommodating and we had no worries. The best location in the heart of Glyfada! We want to thank the staff/reception for making our stay there exceptional! ……….Demetra and Giannis 412!
Pictures don’t match with reality. Very noisy from main street outside can’t sleep.rooms are In bad shape, unsafe electricity, moal In walls as well as cracks. Hôtel very run down. Pool Is a joke In reality compared to the pictures. Safebox out of order. Beach Infront closed for a year no one tells you until you arrive… Don’t book this hotel! I would rather be homeless for the night! Worst hotelexperience In 20 years. 1/5 Is generous should be 0/5
We was looking for a 4/5 stars hotel in Glyfada for a two nights buisness trip purpose. We booked at Congo Palace based on its location and proximity to our meetings area. The hotel photos looks nice and the price raisonable. Once arrived their, we was surprise; Congo Palace is completly neglected. (tear carpets, cracks on walls and ceilings, odor of humidity and musty in rooms,....) We had the sea view rooms but they forgot to inform us that the rooms are on the main road and the noise was insupportable. (a bad windows insulations) * Despite the fact that only 4 rooms was occupied out of the 92 rooms availble. they charged us a late check out (50% of the daily room price) I'm sorry to say that I do not recommend Congo Place to tourists who are looking for a minimum of confort. **I should mention that the staff did their best to help but the hotel conditions and rules couldn't help.…
Found this hotel through tripadvisor and lived up to expectations. Before we travelled there was a possibility of having to rebook due to family illness. Hotel very accommodating and proactive. In end did not need to reschedule and on arrival we’re asked how father is. Nice touch. Asked for a quiet room with sea view. This was on side of hotel where sea view was a postage stamp. That said sea view front rooms are on main road and could be noisy. Staff very helpful and good breakfasts
Hotel is definitely not up to standard. It is a 2 star rating and overall very bad. Rooms are disgusting, carpets torn, staff are unfriendly, waiters lazy and slopping around. They look like they have sucked lemons all day and forced to be here. They upgrade us to a better room but insisted on immediate payment . In all due respects- BAD. Would not recommend it to tourists
Lovely hotel. Very hardworking staff, always responsive. Breakfast is lovely on till 10.30am. Pool area lovely, pool itself cold! Great location for beach, tram and bus. Glyfda is great. Within 5 minuted of the hotel are a range of all the usual fast food and shops plus designer shops. Top tips: Tram card is bought from bus terminal 5 minutes from hotel, just past McDonalds. Lovely journey into Athens. Take airport bus. It's easy and quick. Rooms: wifi is great all round hotel. Standard rooms are great. Our bathroom could have used a refresh but it was clean. Would return if coming back to Athens.
We booked a non refundable hotel room last minute. at this 4 star rated hotel. When we arrived, we received an economy room located on the first floor with a balcony overlooking other apartments. The front desk service was great and the Libby area was very impressive. Upon entering our room, I inspected the bed, the bed sheets were clean. The beige blankets were outdated. The washroom appeared to look like it was renovated however, the orange carpet throughout the room was dirty, stained and gross. I didn’t even walk to walk on it with my shoes on! The room furniture was outdated, our room didn’t have a room safe and we couldn’t find a spare electrical outlet so we charge our phones. We had to unplug the TV. As for the beds, they were very hard. My husband eventually had to take pain medication for his back pain. The walls are paper thin and some of the guests staying in this hotel... have some serious issues with slamming doors. Thank the Lord that we only had a 2 night stay! This resort is advertised as a 4 star however I would rate the room I received as a 1 star. Hotels like this are getting away with misleading guests into thinking they are staying in 4 star rated accommodations. In addition, they are non refundable so good luck in getting your money back. To folks out there considering staying at this hotel....Be aware of the room your are booking and don’t let the exterior of the building, lobby and pictures posted online fool you! Management at this hotel needs to do the right thing and be transparent. Stop advertising economy rooms as 4 star accommodations because if you don’t you will continue to receive ratings like this. Word of mouth and social media are powerful tools that can make or break your reputation.…
