Grecotel Cape Sounio is often celebrated for its serene and picturesque location near the beach and the historic Poseidon Temple, providing a tranquil retreat for guests. While the hotel's atmosphere is described as warm and welcoming, thanks to the friendly and professional staff, some travelers feel the rooms could benefit from renovation to match the quality of service. The cleanliness of the beach and accommodations receives accolades, although the maintenance of certain areas is noted as an area for improvement. Despite the well-regarded amenities and setting, guests have called out the hotel's value for money, citing notable price increases and inconsistent room quality.

Generally the hotel is ok, but not value for money. The room price has doubled in 2 years, and for that price sorry we prefer to chose other reputable 5 stars in the area of Attica. A simple 2 people room lower price for June 2022 for example was like 250euros, right now the same one is 600+. doesn't really worth that

Hotel's Favorite
We would happily return to this hotel. The staff are superb, very polite and staffing levels are high. We opted for half-board and were really impressed with the quality and range of the food. The hotel and grounds are well kept and clean. The pool area is nice (the water in the pools is a bit cold), the private beach area has plenty of loungers and has calm water which is safe for children to play in (don't expect golden sand though - it is quite gritty). The indoor pool is not much to speak of (too small to swim any lengths and not a lot warmer than the outdoor pools) and the spa is not luxurious, but the treatments we had were good. There are a good range of activities for younger children - traditional olive harvesting, star gazing and a football tournament are some examples our children enjoyed. In other respects the Kids Club area is smaller and less impressive than at other family hotels, and the ratio of staff to children is surprisingly low. But the activities are well organised and the staff are caring and kind with the children. The free buffet for children under 12 every lunch time is a great feature for families. If anything, the studio room was the least impressive feature - adequate but basic rather than luxurious. And be aware that if you are in one of the studios closer to the Kids Club / spa area, it is a good 5/10 minute walk for little legs to the main hotel area (though the walk is pleasant with a sea view most of the way). There are golf buggies on hand to take you from reception back to your room if needed for the return journey. Overall for the price this hotel is a very good option for young families.

We stayed for a week in Bungalow 104. Nice Hotel with great Food and superb scenery ! Cleaning of our room was not always as it should be (lipstick on our glasses and leaky salt lamp) but that didn't spoil our Holiday. A small issue was the lack of an extra drawer but that was solved by the management.

We loved the hotel the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The room we had had a temple and sea view the bungalow room was very nice we loved the comfortable be. We were staying at the hotel as a half board so breakfast and evening meal, we had different meals every nice and found the food fresh and very tasty with a very wide choice, the large outdoor pool was lovely as was the indoor one and we always found the beach tidy and with the amazing view of the temple. The hotel is very big and we had to use the buggy to get to the room and back just wanted to shout out to the young men driving they were always so friendly and chatty there were a great credit to the hotel

Positives: Unrivalled location across from the Temple of Poseidon. Dramatically stylish. Charming, helpful staff. Beautiful grounds and well kept beach. Blissful beds and pillows. Neutral: It is a vast site- if you are in the 400-500+ bungalows it's 1750 (+ -) steps to the beach or lobby! Breakfast/dinner buffet is lavish. Can't bear to think of the waste. The 'gourmet' restaurant is stunning though the food doesn't quite live up to the surroundings. Massage at the spa was just about fine. Negatives: The bungalows (sic) Unless there's a major refit and construction, they just don't work and I can't see that being done can you? It's faintly ridiculous that at a resort of this calibre there isn't a proper bathroom. If the main blind is open, one has to get dressed huddled behind the screen. Poor lighting - can't read in bed - one reading light over the sofa which is ineffective. Main lighting poor. As usual in hotels, if you want to watch TV you have to be in bed. You can't have full darkness in the room - the blinds let in light as does the opaque glass in the bathroom. Not possible to have natural ventilation - one window in the bathroom opens but it's not screened so the choice is ventilation and bites or stifle. If you have neighbours - and usually you will - they might as well be in your room with you ie. no sound insulation. I've gone into detail - overall, not quite the treat it promised. And to the management - have you considered taking a poll of your guests to establish whether they love loud blues and jazz at breakfast, by the pool etc? Some people believe holidays are for peace and restoration.

The Grecotel Cape Sounio was the perfect choice for our 5 day family vacation. Swimming and resting on the private beach was very relaxing especially at this time of the year where there were only few other people. The large outside pool is also a great option for relaxing, but i kind of missed a heated outside pool. Although there is a heated inside pool next to the gym with a good view outside, but it’s a little bit of a walk to get there. All staff members are extremely nice and contribute to the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. Food and drinks at Cape Sounio were great. I really liked the mediterranean restaurant and the buffet was great especially the big selection of desserts in the dessert section. Big shout-out to Christos who is the best waiter I have ever seen and who made breakfast and dinner even more enjoyable, and Nicoletta who, with her nice manner and her good sense of humour, made drinks in the late evening a really great experience. There is also the option to go to the hotel gym wich offer a variety of different workout options and a nice view outside. There are even spinning bikes and a bench press rack outside. It’s a little walk away from the main building, but depending on your room it might be even closer than the main building. The room itself was a little bit worn out but not that much that it would have bothered us. From the hotel you get a great view on the Poseidon Temple and I would definitely recommend going there and maybe even watching the beautiful sunset. Thats what we did and it was awesome. You can get a Taxi from the hotel to the temple, takes around 10 min to get there, and for 25€ or 35€ in total the driver will wait for you there for 30min or 1h and take you back afterwards. Altogether we really had an amazing stay in the Grecotel Cape Sounio and I can definitely recommend staying there for vacation.

This hotel has a great location and everything looks so luxurious. All staff members are incredibly friendly, Christos in particular was wonderful and probably the best waiter I've ever had. Also worth mentioning is Nikoletta, who stands out for her sweet demeanour and humour. There is also someone here for cat lovers, the cute hotel cat called Penelope, There is a very nice beach and big pool area as well as a GYM with all kinds of equipment and a beautiful view. This hotel has everything you need for a perfect holiday.

The accommodations are very luxurious and beautiful. Private pool, big pool and the beach were all great and very clean. The gym is very good even for weightlifting which is rear in hotel gyms. The food in both the restaurants and the buffet was amazing for all nutrition demands! The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly! They also clean the room and change of towels every day Also the fact that there are towels offered at the beach pull spa and gym is very convenient. We were also given flip flops which was very nice as I had forgot to take mine. We had a great time in this quiet but also very alive place. The Saturday music show was very beautiful also.

What a glorious resort - views of Poseidon from everywhere you were within the hotel grounds and beyond. Christos in the restaurant was an absolute superstar and made us feel so welcome every breakfast and dinner, with great local tips for future holidays. Thank you so much Christos. Antonis in the restaurant was an absolute blessing every morning serving us our mimosas and being so friendly. He provided us with a fabulous start to every day - thank you so much. Our whole holiday was a dream and we highly recommend the Grecotel to everyone.
