Make no mistake about it, some would call this hotel "old." I would call it a historic hotel with tons of character. I stayed at this hotel in February 2017, on a work trip. I had been booked into a Courtyard near the airport, but saw this hotel on the list and opted for it instead. I was definitely pleased...

While a little pricey, I found the ambiance quite lovely. Small room but I always start my evaluation of a hotel with they coffee the offer in rooms. Real cream with plenty of sugar substitute options. Sounds picky but based on that you can tell what they spend heir attention and money on. Staff were extremely helpful, especially Mylo who...

We thought this hotel was pretty cool, it was built in the early 1900's & has a Spanish architecture feel. Carlos checked us in & he was pretty cool for a Patriots fan! He offered an upgrade based on my preferred guest level but we elected to go with a recently remodeled standard king room. Very nice! Some of the...

I loved this hotel... This is such a quaint and romantic setting in a lil ole place called McAllen TX. WHO KNEW... The charm of this hotel in its Mexican theme extends throughout and into the room. The lounge was perfect for a long day of business. The service and food was perfect and they never left you feeling unsolved....

I arrived late (8:30pm) with a group of co-workers, all that received rooms. When I checked in, they informed me they didn't have enough rooms due to a "unforeseen" incident and that they were moving me to the Courtyard for a night and then move me back to their property the next night. First of all, no one reached out...

Dear LadyOCH, Thank you for booking your reservation at our hotel as well as for taking time to complete a TripAdvisor review. The grounds are pleasant to walk and there are many interesting plants growing inside as well as outside. I enjoyed the architecture and old world style, pleasant and relaxing. There's a pool, plaza and restaurant. Although if the manager Mr. Harper is filling coffee cups in the restaurant, he seems to ignore tables where only one is seated. The bed...

As a Marriott elite customer and with frequent stays at Casa de Palmas Renaissance over the years, I have noticed a steady decline in service and quality of stay. My recent stay confirmed to me that I need to and will locate another property for my 2017 travels. Front desk staff and concierge staff go out of their way to...

This is an old hotel. So if you go in NOT expecting a standard Marriott, you might be pleasantly surprised. Our room, on the 3d floor, was small, somewhat dark, with 2 double beds [we were told they were queens...don't think so]. There was no room phone to call the front desk [had to use our cells] and few electrical...

They´re not fooling anyone. They advertise this as a 3 stars hotel, and we got a plain 3 stars hotel. It´s my fault that I grew higher expectations. Probably because it was #1 in Trip Advisor, or because the building is considered a local landmark. Anyway, my high hopes were lowered when we found the pool and courtyard were under...

If you are accustomed to staying at a Renaissance, do not stay here. Be careful of people describing it as "historic", "classic" or "charming". Yes, the building is cool, old Texas style. HOWEVER, the place is a dump. The rooms are so dark, I couldn't do anything. The carpet has been here since 1970s and the furniture don't look any...
