Slept great but didn’t like the breakfast
Well I liked the outdoor look of the hotel. It was very spacious and clean on the inside. Price was reasonable and close to a lot of fast food places. I didn’t like that for breakfast they provided sac brown bag breakfast w prepackaged items. The receptionist was super nice. Although we slept great (after a 12 hr drive) I don’t know if I’d stay here again.

Happiness when you travel is as important as your comfort. All the comforts of home and good friendly staff make for a quick return to visit family more pleasant. I am extremely happy with the layout of the hotel it is very pet friendly and the access to space outside was nice.
Good Afternoon mikeannette03, Thank you for filling out our Guest survey and for staying with us, We look forward to having you back! Thanks, Regina

This is a long one, but hopefully it helps others not make the same mistake we did. I wish I’d read the recent reviews before booking. I didn’t think to because we’ve stayed at the Arbor Inn many times in the past and loved it every time. When I booked this time, I had no idea that they were under new management and were now Best Western, as my booking still listed them as Arbor Inn. This new management seems to have run this place into the ground. We checked in a little after 7pm to a room that was 86 degrees. We figured the thermostat just needed to be turned down. We set it to 75 before we left for dinner. When we got back around 10pm, the room was still at 86. We went to the front desk to ask for a room change. Instead of offering us a new room, a lady at the front desk walked us back to our room and messed with the thermostat. We reminded her that we had already tried that and that it hadn’t worked. We walked back to the front desk, where a man then WALKED US BACK to the room, took the thermostat off the wall, blew on it, and, again, instead of offering us another room, told us to wait 5 minutes. By now, it’s 10:30pm, we’d been on the road all day, and are getting pretty frustrated with the situation. We let them know that we’d like to stay somewhere else and requested a refund. He said that we’d have to call the company we booked through, which I did right away. As I’m on the phone with them, he comes back to the room to say that there’s a room available on the second floor. At this point, we have no interest in staying here. After a 30 minute call, I’m told by our travel company that the hotel front desk has denied the request for a refund because they “offered us another room.” We’re so exhausted by this point that we take the room on the second floor, haul all of our stuff up the stairs (elevator out of service), and find that the keys they gave us to the new room don’t work. We let the front desk know and they gave us new room keys, and told us to keep them away from anything magnetic… Thankfully this room was cooler, but not by much. One of the nightstand light bulbs was out. The nightstand shelf itself was crooked. The beds were squeaky and uncomfortable. The fridge door got stuck on the carpet when trying to open and close. It just seems very run down and cheaply redone. We would’ve been willing to look past all of the issues with the appearance and comfort of the hotel if the staff had shown an ounce of hospitality. One of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.

Dishonest. Almost thieves. I placed an order on Amazon for an EV charging cable and two Tesla connectors and I had them delivered to the hotel. It was addressed as: Best Western: Guest my name. When I received notice that the package was delivered I approached the front desk person and asked for my package that had been delivered by Amazon. Her first comment was that they hasn’t received any packages. I told her that my delivery showed delivered. She then said that they had only received one package and it was addressed to her bosses name. I told her that Amazon showed it delivered and signed by C (full name). She said “that’s my name but I didn’t get your package”. I showed her the information that Amazon showed and she again said that the only package they received was a package for her boss. I told her that I would like to talk to her boss. He wasn’t in. I told her to please bring out the package and I told her that I was expecting an EV charging cable and she said “no, we got ours, we are putting an EV charger soon”. I told her to please bring out the package she received. She walked to the back and came back and said that “they” are in a meeting and cannot be disturbed. I told her if I had to, I would go and interrupt their meeting and that I wanted my package. She then walked back to the office again and when she came back she said “the meeting is not here” but the maintenance supervisor will be in a few minutes to open the office where the package was. She took my cell number and said she would call me when he had opened whatever was closed. I walked outside to make a phone call and I saw “C.” Go outside and drive away. About twenty minutes later I went back to the front desk to ask for an update and “C.” came out with TWO OPENED packages with the label just as I had described them. My name clearly on them and her “bosses name” no where on the package. She proceeded to apologize and I told her it was very dishonest what they had done and had no business opening my packages. I asked her to show me where her bosses name was. She said “they must have read it wrong”. I told her that she told me she received them and read her bosses name on it. Very sad to have to deal with dishonest people and business in a place that you leave personal belongings for a large amount of time. If they try to steal something as traceable as this, I can only imagine what they do when they see guests leaving their rooms.

This place seems to be under a renovation. They don’t mention that on the site before booking. No signage at all to the hotel. Booked a King Suite with a kitchen. Kitchen had no supplier. No dishes, cups, silver, pots. Nothing. Managers response? Sorry. 5 light bulbs missing in the room. Managers response? Sorry Breakfast was chaotic. Asked for a lid for coffee. It didn’t fit the cups. We are our sorry! Left for a meeting and told the front desk I’d be back at 10:30 to clean up abs check out at 11. Got back at 10:30, they were in my room. Sorry!! Elevator didn’t work. Sorry! This place needs an overhaul. The staff too!

It’s so sad that this once family owned property has sold to Best Western. I’ve stayed in this hotel since the 1990’s. The cozy feel of the lobby/breakfast area is gone - now a cold sterile environment. And DO NOT take your pets. Even though their web site said pet friendly (has now been updated) they refused to honor my reservation made 3 weeks in advance for New Year’s Eve. What was I supposed to do? Leave my babies in the car?!!!! And then had the nerve to say, ‘have a good day’! Really? The manager is totally unprofessional, dressed in a tank top (on Dec 31st) with tattoos galore. I lucked into an available room at the Homewood Suites that allowed pets. I will never stay here again.

This hotel hotel moved locations and became a terrible place to stay. My wife and I used to stay here when we visited Lubbock. We made reservations thinking we were staying in the same spot but come to find out they moved to an older building. The staff was not friendly when we arrived and they smelled like cigarettes. The whole hotel smelled. The room was ok but, again, older. The shower was terrible, no pressure. I won’t stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel periodically in the last 10 years. At my most recent stay I noted that the property is no longer up to par. The room I stayed in had a security lock that had been broken in two and was hanging by one screw. I chose to place a bench under the door handle for security. This was the second room I was given. The first had a window that wouldn't close and the room was freezing. The clerk at the desk was very nice. But, the property no longer feels safe. Sadly, it was dirty and generally down on it's heels.

We booked what we thought was a location on 62nd Street... it is no longer the Arbor Inn, but has been purchased by La Quinta... we were sent to another location down the street. This Arbor Inn location was nothing like the reviews stated. The rooms are dated, the furniture is old, the walls and carpet were nasty and the bathroom still had hair on the floor from a previous guest as well as dirt under the counter. We had booked the room for 2 nights, but there was no way I could stay there the second night. If there is a plus to this place, it would be the pool area. It was very nice - but closed. We moved to the Hampton Inn at 2828 Marsha Sharp Hwy and it was amazing. Would highly recommend the Hampton Inn for $15.00 more per night.

This is a wonderful location for going to a Texas Tech game. A simple walk across the walkway to the stadium. The hotel is very nice, comfortable beds, clean, Courteous staff. The only drawback is the property is located in an area where there is obvious crime. The property is gated. Certainly this is good but it would tell you there’s a fence around the property for a reason. Probably had some issues with break-ins of vehicles. It’s a shame but the area behind the hotel must be a pretty rough are. However if I was going back to game I’d probably stay there again.
