The hotel is in a pleasant location surrounded by beautiful landscapes, which is a plus for those seeking a peaceful spot. The facilities are generally well-maintained and nicely designed, perfect for a family getaway. However, despite the hotel’s beautiful appearance, the comfort of the rooms left much to be desired. During our stay, the room felt damp, and the temperature control didn’t work properly, affecting our sleep quality. Additionally, the housekeeping service was lacking—we had to request extra towels and linens multiple times. While the hotel offers family-friendly entertainment and activities, the issues with the rooms and comfort overshadowed the overall experience.

This may have been a great place years ago but is showing its age. The rooms are nice, but dated and small. Beds are hard and pillows are smooshy. The staff is friendly and tries, but there are not enough of them anywhere. Each section struggled to keep up (no one at the towel stand for much of the day, bar people cannot keep up, a single waiter for a restaurant). Halls are dark carpeting and dim lights. Elevators creak and shake. The pool is missing tiles and the pool deck has spots in need of cleaning. As we walked in from the pool each day, the same carpet got dirtier and dirtier but was never vacuumed. The pool bar is slow and expensive ($16 for a virgin pina colada) and the staff is overwhelmed and not trained (heard them asking what goes into a pina colada). Parking is tight, spots are narrow, and it was quite full.

It does have nice views, a decent gym, and a pool slide. This is not a place for a long visit, maybe a couple days as there are limited activities (it's a modest size spa and a pool with a slide).

I was pretty pleased with our stay at the Lakeway resort. I was concerned before we went after reading the reviews from some talking about it being in need of maintenance and odd smells. I did not experience that at all.

The property is actually really nice. The lobby has plenty of bell hops (if you arrive at peak times), people hold doors for you, and the condition of the property is good. Our room was one of the cheaper rooms that faced the parking lot, however it was large, clean, modern furnishings, had a coffee maker/coffee, good AC. Yes the bathroom is small but the vanity area is separate which was nice. The balcony was decent size and had a nice table and chairs out there.

The bars were nice, and we liked the Back Porch bar in particular. The pool area is also nice, and SO GLAD they have an adults only pool. Only complaint is they want you wear a wrist band, and the bathrooms were behind the keycard-required gate. But the pool was nice, their lounge chairs, nice bar.

We ate at the restaurant and it was decent. The menu is a little odd.... steaks but also pizza and burgers/sandwiches.

I would give it an extra star if it wasn't for the ludicrous, stupid $40/day RESORT FEE. I cannot tell you how much I hate resort fees and when they are for nothing. We asked what we got for it and the answer was "parking, cookies in the lobby, wifi". You are already getting hosed for food and drink at resort prices, and parking is not worthy of $40 (or even $1, TBH). I could go on and on but the resort fee left a majorly bitter taste in our mouth and think they should just add that to the regular room rate instead of pissing off people with this charge. And the rates at this place are not cheap to begin with.

Anyway I don't want to leave it on that negative note, but will say that this place is a nice property and I'd recommend it.

The property overlooks the Lake Travis and could be a beautiful place. It wasn't. Our stay was over the Fathers Day Holiday. The water slide & pool amenities attracted our attention as a get away for our grandchildren. We followed all of the hotel rules and decided instead of paying $100 for 2 outside guests we chose to book the Cabana for $320. It was disappointing to see that wearing wrist bands was not enforced. Had we known this we would have reconsidered spending the extra money.
The pool was supposed to open at 9:00 but opened late. Another guest had to ask the staff to open the water slide after 10:00. The life guard only sat at her station on and off although there were plenty of children in the water & the slide.
The chicken strips accompanying the waffles were terribly overcooked although we were the only guests having breakfast. I did try the Sunday Buffet to find out that at 9:00 the restaurant's omelet station wasn't open but was supposed to be. The common areas were absolutely filthy. Trash from the day before was piled high in garbage receptacles, cups were left on steps, children's hand prints were on the windows in the dining room . We saw brooms, ladders, & supplies, stored within sight of the guests and were a trip hazard. I saw spider webs, dust & dirt. Resorts typically have all this taken care of while the guests are sleeping. Some of the employees were friendly. Our room wasn't cleaned 2 nights in a row. And yes the hotel is outdated and run down We were told it is up for sale.

The room was nothing special, but it was acceptable. We changed rooms because the room they gave us initially had a view of a roof. The person who changed the room for us said she would not charge us for the new room because the original one had a balcony, but the new one did not. They ended up charging us a $45 per night "upsell," going completely against what Kim said they would do.
As the other reviews have said, the food is not worth the cost. We ate off the premises after the brunch because of the quality and value for the price.
The resort really has no activities except for the pools and swim-up bar.

This place is the worst resort I’ve been too. Rooms had filth everywhere, everything was stained. Customer service is terrible. They don’t even take cash. Which is shocking for any resort. There was human poop in the stairs. The rooms smell, and the food is awful. While there are some good qualities, they are limited. The lifeguards are always on their phones and not watching the children. As a parent I want to be able to relax by the pool while keeping an eye on my daughter every now and then. The lifeguard was yelling at the kids on the slide for no reason Aswell. My daughter came to me crying saying that they told her she can’t go down the slide because she “cut.” You can not ban a child from a slide for being a kid! We also went to the gift shop to get some snacks and sunscreen. A single pint of ice cream was 12 dollars. Skittles were around 5, and everything else was even worse. They had no sunscreen at the gift shop. We had to go to the spa and when we did we paid around 40 dollars for a single bottle of sunscreen. Ridiculous. It was also half full. Didn’t help at all too. Especially for it being so overpriced. Everything is cheap (furniture, etc) and we won’t be coming back. Ever. Was supposed to be a fun vacation but turned into us scared what we were gonna sleep on the next night. Don’t recommend. The owners should seriously make some renovations. The customer service is also very lousy and unhelpful. Charged us to stay an extra night even when we left early.

It is a new place to visit on Christmas Day but was quiet not enough to do. The food was a 4-course meal, and it was ok, they ran out of some food like scallop, and the rolls was too hard and cold to eat. But we still enjoyed the 1-night stay. Some of the furniture needs to be more up to date, and the vents need to be cleaned out too.

Very dissatisfied and would not return. The rooms were expensive and they did not provide cleaning service even upon request from a manager---that never even called me back when she said she would about my cleaning request. The entire resort (if you call it that) was understaffed. The only restaurant that you could eat at during the day (after breakfast) was at the pool in the heat. The breakfast at the restaurant was not good and the service was slow. I would not recommend

We stayed here in July 2022 as a couples getaway for my birthday. The resort is beautiful. The pool area with its pool bar, multiple pools (including adults only pool), shaded sitting areas and view of the lake are amazing. We felt very comfortable and relaxed just hanging out.

Our room was big and just perfect. We paid a little extra for a balcony room and it was great. Our room had a king bed, couch, chair, desk, minibar with sink, refrigerator, k-cup coffeemaker. It had more than enough room, and floor to ceiling windows with a lake view. But honestly, the view of the grounds on the opposite side of the hotel is a great view too - the grounds are beautiful and peaceful.

The bar was well tended in the evening when we returned from our activities. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I removed a star only because 1) there’s not enough shaded seating by the pool; 2) there’s not enough parking; and 3) the kid noise! There were kids screaming and running up and down the halls around midnight for over 30 minutes, which is an eternity when you’re dead-dog tired and had a few drinks and just want to go to sleep. If my kids had tried acting like that inside late at night, they would have gotten pulled into our room so fast! They were so loud, there’s no way you could sleep. Then there was a small child screaming for her mom off and on for most of the night. Where was her mom? Who knows? But the kid (not an infant) screamed at the top of her lungs off/on for hours and clearly there’s not enough insulation or something because it was very loud in my room.

In the morning we went for a nice walk around the grounds, which are nice and shaded, and stopped by the restaurant for breakfast, but despite being very empty, they said there was a 15 minute wait and I didn’t want to wait. There were 2 people seated and 2 parties waiting at 9AM. There was no need for anything more than a 5 minute wait. That’s no way to run a restaurant.

I would definitely stay there again because it is a nice place, but maybe stick to the weekdays and off peak season when there are maybe fewer kids making a bunch of noise.

Pretty grounds, rooms were satisfactory. It is advertised as a 4 star resort. It is more in line with 3 stars and that is being a little generous. Their saving grace is the gentleman at the front door and one of the waiters at the restaurant. The gentleman at the front door, I am guessing he is a concierge/valet. He was welcoming, helpful and a hard worker. I wish I had gotten his name. The other was our server at the restaurant Helmar. He was exceptional. Unfortunately, the food, location and general condition of the hotel just didn’t meet expectation. The other staff seemed indifferent and like they would rather be anywhere else.
Don’t expect a really good meal there. My husband and I had the prefix New Years dinner. It was $80 per person, food only. The hors d'oeuvre courses had to have come from Costco. I got a little sick at my stomach shortly after returning to our room. My husband had a different entrée and he was okay, but he complained about his stomach after eating the breakfast there. We got the rise and shine breakfast package. We only ate the first day, it didn’t set well with my husband, but at the time he didn’t attribute that to the food.
Also, pay very close attention to the service charge. They add in the tip for everything and then make it look like you still need to leave a tip. It’s borderline dishonest the way it is presented. That really didn’t set well since we probably ended up tipping somewhere in the neighborhood of 45-50% a couple of times before we noticed that the service charge was actually the tip. When the average drink is around $20 dollars each and it’s not exactly top shelf liquor paying that much extra doesn’t leave you feeling like you had a great experience.
Overall, I would not recommend and will not return during peak season. Too many other places to choose from and it is not near anything else remotely entertaining.

We just returned, again, from a great couple of days there. Didn’t see any dogs. Call the resort and ask. Also, there is staff going and coming from the pool area. You get wrist tags going into the pool area. I think it’s to control how many people are in the pool area during COVID. 👍

Good afternoon, Thank you for your inquiry! We do not have direct access to the lake as our hotel is built on a cliff, but there are some parks nearby that have direct access to the lake. As for activities, there are plenty of wineries, breweries, shops, and hiking around the Lakeway & Bee Cave areas!

It depends on what kind of room you get. We made sure to get a lakeview room, and it had a balcony that we could go out onto.
